How does Pimax Dream Air run on a 4090 ? I do not play sim games ( flight/racing ) that’s all i really see reviews on.. i play horror/open world/shooters/sports

All the reviews i see for Pimax ALWAYS only shows sim racing or sim flight .. is that all it’s good for ?

When you buy games for VR is it two separate games you have to buy if you want to also play it in flat screen ? Or a VR game can be played in both flat screen and VR ?

For instance Resident Evil 7 i heard is great in VR .. i already own RE7 but do i need to purchase a VR version now if i want to play it when Steam Frame releases ?

Can Pimax crystal super micro oled play my entire Steam library ? Flat screen and VR ? or just VR ? If so for users who do this how do the games look ? I’m so close to purchasing one. It looks awesome

Thank you for any reply . Oh and how good is the customer service with Pimax if you have any experience ? Defective product, issues , damaged shipping etc ?

This question is for people who already own a VR headset and familiar with these devices . Is the Steam Frame considered “ entry level “ into VR gaming like the Steam Machine and Steam Deck ? Or is the Steam Frame supposed to be better than “ entry level “ VR gaming ?

Only reason i want a Steam Frame as my first VR headset is because i already own a Steam Deck Oled and love it and want to stick with the same brand/eco system. I was going to get a Meta Quest 3 until i saw Valve is coming out with their own VR headset and decided to wait.. but the wait is killin me lol

I’m very interested in purchasing a Pimax crystal super micro oled but i heard it’s a lot of tinkering to get it to work . Is that true ? If so what type of tinkering ?

I have an Intel i9 / 4090 RTX running Windows 11 and play games 100% off of Steam . Would i have a hard time setting this up ? I’m not too computer savvy but just want an idea what I’m getting myself into

Does anybody who currently owns a VR headset play emulation on it ? I know they have like a big picture/theater mode. If so how does it play ? Like NES, PS1, Sega Genesis etc.. would seem cool to play some old pick up and play games immersed in a VR headset

How important is FOV in VR gaming ? I was reading the first VR headset from Valve called the “ Index “ had 130 FOV while the Steam Frame dropped to 110 FOV . I wonder why the drop off in FOV and does it really matter for the games you play ?

You would think the higher FOV the better but maybe I’m missing something ? Is this something they can update in the future ? Or once the headset is made that’s it ?

The Steam Frame will hopefully be my first VR headset. With that said i currently own a Oled TV , Oled Gaming monitor and Oled handhelds ( Legion Go 2 and Steam Deck Oled ) with the Steam Frame not being Oled do you think it will be a big drop off in visual fidelity for me with it being LCD ?

Or with VR it doesn’t matter because you are so close to the action ? Or will i be better off getting a Pimax crystal super micro Oled ?

With cost NOT being a factor which would you choose and why ? Steam Frame or Pimax crystal super micro oled ?

I don’t game for more than an hour at any given time unless it’s on a handheld so comfort/heavy shouldn’t be a factor for that timeframe any other advantages Steam Frame have over Pimax Crystal super micro oled besides being lighter and wireless ?

I’ve never owned a VR headset and looking into one with the best clarity with oled lenses and looks like Pimax is one of them . I’m looking at the Dream Air version . Does anybody who owns this version already know if it can play regular Steam games or emulation games that are not VR ?

In like a theater/projector/flat mode or whatever you call it ? Or does this version strictly play VR games only ?

I know we have no idea when this Steam Frame will release but what’s the first game you plan on playing ? This will be my first VR headset and i want to kick it off with a good horror game

Any suggestions ? I’ve been hearing about Outlast and Alien Isolation being some good ones

Steam Frame will hopefully be my very first VR headset ( if i can get one before they sell out ) I’ve never ever used a VR headset before and would like to know if most VR games are active ?

What i mean is do you have to stand up and make room to game because your arms are swinging around to move within game ? Or can you just chill on the couch with controllers in hand and game ? Are their options for this in every game ? Or do you have to play the way the game was intended ?

Valve.. valve..you..you got anymore of them Steam Frames man 😎? I need one man ..come on.. I’m feenin

u/DatBoyChamp1 — 10 days ago

With Valve releasing a 256GB and 1TB version of the Steam Frame and it streams straight from your PC is there really a reason to get the 1TB version ? Forgive me if it’s over my head and I’m missing something

How many games would you really be downloading on it for stand alone ?

How well do you think Steam Frame will handle horror games . I know Oled lenses is considered best but this will be my first VR headset ( if i get one ) and I’m looking forward to playing some survival horror games

I currently have a 48” Ultragear 4K Oled monitor connected to a PC running i9/4090 RTX and horror games look beautiful on it. Think i will be let down with the Steam Frame ? Or with VR gaming you are so immersed it should still give me a great experience ?

I’m hoping Steam Frame will be my very first VR headset . I have no experience with ANY VR headset ever. Just got my first Steam Deck late last year before it sold out and i absolutely love it . Now I’m interested in a VR headset. I’m planning on getting the Steam Frame ( if it doesn’t sell out )

Specs wise how does the Steam Frame compare to the best headsets out now ? Is it rumored to be one of the best ? Mid ? Low entry level like Steam Deck ? Please help

I know the Steam Frame is LCD .I don’t own any current or used any VR headsets but starting to get interested ..should i wait for Valve to release a Oled version? Or is LCD good enough? I currently have a Oled Monitor for PC, Steam Deck Oled, and Legion Go 2 which is Oled.

For somebody who has experience with both Oled and LCD VR headsets how big of a difference is it ? I mainly would like to play horror games on it
