How do you support a top-heavy Caladium? 🌿

Hey everyone! 🌿 I have an Angel Wings plant (Caladium) that’s starting to lean/droop to one side a little bit. The leaves have gotten HUGE, and I think it’s just becoming a little top-heavy.

I know Caladiums aren’t climbing plants, so I’m not sure what the best way to support it would be. I was thinking maybe a small tomato cage or something similar around the plant, but I don’t want to use something that isn’t actually good for how it naturally grows.

For anyone who has experience with Caladiums, what do you use to support yours when they get big like this? I really want to help it grow as healthy and happy as possible without interfering with its natural growth. Any advice would be appreciated! 💚

I’m looking to start a Monstera in a hydroponic setup and was wondering if you guys add nutrients/fertilizer to the water or if they do fine without it? I’ve read mixed things, and my other plants that are just sitting in water seem to be thriving, so just looking for any tips or suggestions!

What fertilizer do you use for your aroids?

I’m pretty new to fertilizers and would love some recommendations! I have mostly Monsteras, Philodendrons/velvet leaf, and Pothos, and I’m looking for something affordable that’ll help with healthy growth, bigger leaves, and overall nutrition. My mix is coco coir, a little soil, orchid bark, and perlite. I’ve also been thinking about adding worm castings. What do you guys use and love?!!!! Thank you!

Mushroom in monstera soil?!

Just noticed this mushroom in my monstera soil today! Has anyone else had a mushroom randomly grow in their Monstera’s soil? 😅 I’ve had mine for about a month and water it roughly every two weeks… just wondering if this is normal and if I should remove it!

First inch plant!!! :D

Bought my first Tradescantia zebrina today and I’m already obsessed. She’s huge, really purple and green, and super viney.

Any tips for keeping her full, lush, and healthy? I’d especially love advice on light, watering, pruning, and how to keep her from getting too long and leggy.

Would love to hear anything you’ve learned from having one!!!! Thank you

Found these under one of my pothos leaves… What am I dealing with?

What are these weird brown bumps under my pothos leaf?? 😭

I got this pothos from Lowe’s about 2-ish weeks ago. I never repotted it because the soil looked and smelled fine, and I never noticed any bugs or signs of rot. The plant has actually been thriving.

Today I noticed these little brown bumps underneath one of the leaves, and I’ve honestly never seen anything like this before. I’ve had a lot of pothos over the years and propagated plenty of them, but this is completely new to me.

I haven’t touched them or tried to scrape them off because I wanted to ask before I accidentally made things worse.

Right now I have this pothos separated from all of my other plants just to be safe. I also bought another pothos from the same Lowe’s on the same day, but I checked every leaf on that one and it looks completely fine. I’m keeping that one separate too.

Does anyone know what these are? Eggs? Scale? Something else? If it is a pest, can it spread to my other plants even if I haven’t touched it? Is this something where I should just remove the leaf, treat the plant, or is the whole plant a lost cause?

Any advice is appreciated because I’m stressing. 😭

Repotting questions/soil help

Just picked up a bigger Monstera from Lowe’s and I’m planning to repot it. I have potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite already. What’s your go-to mix using those? I also have moss poles to support her with.

Also, what’s the best way to clean dusty store leaves? Just water, or do you use something else? Thanks, any other tips or suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated!

Yellowing monstera leaves... help!

Hi! I'm looking for some advice because I'm starting to worry about my monstera. It's still a baby, so it doesn't have any fenestrations yet.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed some of the lower leaves starting to turn yellow. I realized around that time that the soil was holding onto moisture for way too long and wasn't draining as well as it should. I don't think I was watering it too often—I think the soil was just staying wet for too long between waterings. Because of that, I haven't watered it in about 2 weeks and have been letting the soil dry out. I've also been gently poking the soil to help it aerate a bit, and it finally feels pretty dry now.

It's planted in a plastic nursery pot with drainage holes that sits inside a decorative pot. The soil is a mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark, and it gets bright indirect light from a window.

The thing that's confusing me is that while these older leaves keep turning yellow, it's also putting out a bunch of new leaves that are growing and unfurling (they're so cute 😭), so I'm not sure if this is just the older baby leaves dying off or if they're yellowing because the roots were sitting in damp soil for too long.

One thing I'm also unsure about is what to do with the yellow leaves. A couple of them basically fell off with almost no effort when I lightly touched them, but the others are still attached pretty firmly. Should I leave the yellow leaves alone until they come off on their own, or should I cut them off? I don't want to make things worse if the plant is still getting something from them.

I just want to make sure my plant isn't slowly dying and that I'm taking care of it the right way. Any advice is super appreciated! 💚

Getting back into witchcraft after a long break and not sure where to start

Hi everyone!

I used to be really interested in witchcraft, but I kind of drifted away from it while I was struggling with my mental health and just focusing on getting through each day. I’m doing a lot better now, and I’ve been picking up a lot of the hobbies and things I used to love again. Witchcraft is something I’d really like to reconnect with.

The thing is, I honestly don’t really know where to start anymore. I don’t use social media, and whenever I try looking things up online, I end up feeling really overwhelmed. There’s so much information out there, and it can be hard to tell what’s reliable and what isn’t. I also really want to be respectful and make sure I’m learning from good sources because I don’t want to accidentally disrespect any traditions or practices.

I know I’m really drawn to nature, plants, crystals, rocks, astrology, the stars, meditation, and divination. I’ve also been interested in things like green witchcraft, hedge witchcraft, chaos magic, and glamour magic. I’m not sure if those all connect or if I should start by focusing on one thing first, but I’d love to learn more.

If anyone has any suggestions for other branches of witchcraft, practices, books, or resources that might fit with these interests, I’d really appreciate it. I’m just looking for some guidance on where to begin and how to get back into it in a thoughtful way.

Thank you so much 🩷

Where should I trim my orchid flower stems? New growth on all 3 spikes—do I still cut them?

I’m looking for some guidance on pruning my orchid. I have three flower stems (spikes), and each one has new growth developing near the top. I’m unsure where I’m supposed to cut the stems—at which node should I trim them, if at all?

Since all three spikes have new growth, should I leave them alone instead of cutting them? Or is there still a recommended node to cut back to?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
