Am I the only one who likes Tahiti more than Moorea?

The water is obviously nicer in Moorea, but Tahiti was so much cooler to me.

Taharuu beach and the black sand is so cool and there was a lot of sand to enjoy. Going out to Teahupo’o to watch WSL was incredible it felt like a movie, even the drive there the mountains and seeing the waterfalls from the road. Mahina beach was great for begineer surfing and was also beautiful. Punaauia is where I stayed, there was still some beautiful blue water.

I liked being able to go to bigger stores like Carrefour for grocery options and I had to buy a adapter I forgot at home. It was cool to see things they had we dont have in America. The restuaraunts also seemed nicer and more grand, many more young people. Moorea felt a bit trapped and the beaches had much less sand and more rocks specifically Temae.

At lest for me, I think Moorea is the kind of place I would really only wanna be in a nice resort like the Hilton. I went to tipaniers and that place looked kinda sad, no one looked happy and the restuarant was like a food court. I think I can see why people would prefer Moorea over all the islands if they're not trying to spend obscene dollar amounts like in Bora Bora, but still get some of the best water and snorkeling in the world while having a bit more out of resort options compared to Bora Bora.

I am going to Bora Bora tomorrow and thats where id like to really just be a bum and live at the resort.. the Westin.

I think I just couldn't imagine myself having a home in Moorea. Tahiti felt much more alive and exciting to me with many more options and people. It also seemed quite a bit cleaner with better roads and more manicured beaches.

With that said Cooks bay and the lagoons are gorgeous, but it just felt harder to enjoy. Public beaches are not as large, roads are worse, there was always a terrible smell of something burning.

I could see myself one day buying a house in Tahiti. Moorea though, maybe I just did it wrong because even the locals often tell me they prefer Moorea but I just didnt care for it.

I had no idea who Kelly Slater was, but was wondering what people thought about the event today

I just happened to fly into Tahiti today for vacation so thought itd be cool to watch the WSL in person. I know nothing about surfing, didnt realize this guy was the most famous surfer at the time. I regret not taking my mirrorless camera but it was pretty hard to stay dry so maybe a good thing.

Was just hoping someone can give me some context, no one spoke fluent english. Was today a good or bad day for the competition? Anything I should know about the event? I really had no idea what was going on.

Was surprising how few people there were and how close we could get.

Is the pocket 4p that much better than a flagship phone?

Some videos I watch on Youtube the difference isnt that crazy. I feel more tempted to just get a phone upgrade instead of the camera.

YouTube obviously compresses videos a bit. Is the quality improvement much more impressive on the pocket 4p or luna 360 ultra compared to a phone in your opinion or are you really just paying for the gimbal, tracking features, and being able to use your phone while using a different device for filming.

Any bars have dunkelweizen or hefeweizen beers?

I went to a German cafe couple days ago and they had a hefeweizen, but the girl took 15 minutes to hand me a single beer because she was waiting for the foam to settle. She didnt even tilt the cup, and still gave me a pint that was 35% head. I cant think of many things easier than pouring beer. Im still mad I tipped encouraging such shameless behavior. Anyway, anywhere in town? Any stores here have what im looking for? I would be willing to head to Birmingham if need be.

Stray black lab

Im not really familiar with the roads but the road in front of academy that leads to south sandy gun range. There appears to be a black lab that looks thirsty walking by itself on the grass median heading towards academy about a mile away from the store. I think the road is 82?

Just in case anyone lost their dog. Saw it about 15 minutes ago.

Fingerprint detection

Is there a way to have 1 device with 10 accounts that aren't linkable?

How are you concealing automation from fingerprint.com specifically developer tools?

Currently using selenium stealth + brave, when I used chrome it was getting detected as a bot by fingerprint.com

HD 600 replacement, need something punchier

Budget $500 usd online. I do not like how the hd600s are so neutral they do not feel alive at all. I tried them to replace my Astro A50 wireless headset, the hd600 has more clarity which helps a lot for violin, but it feels muted and dead for everything else. I wish I could combine these headphones. I am using an elgato wave xlr mk2 for the amp it has 250 ohms.

What do you think would be a good fit? I am not looking for the craziest bass ever, but the bass on my Astro A50s was great.

Jbl 500 alternative

Im very satisfied with the sound. But I am returning it because I way overpaid at walmart and dont like that I cant add speakers to it. For around $450-$750 what can I buy? The bass is really good imo on the jbl at least I think, though the soundbar feels like less of an improvement over tv speakers though voices are noticeably clearer.

XLR mic and headphone setup for gaming

I have Sennheiser HD 600s and want an XLR interface that can handle both my headphones and an XLR microphone. I mainly want to use the mic for Discord, then plug my HD 600s into the interface so I can hear game audio and friends through the same device.

Is the Elgato Wave XLR MK.2 a good option for this?

For the XLR mic, I want something that does not exaggerate mouth noise, saliva sounds, or my slight lisp. My voice is already pretty low, and I like a fuller, bassier mic sound. What mic would be a good match? I was thinking the Rode Pod Mic.

Did Reddit disable direct http requests to its json endpoints?

I had a very basic Node.js script scraping Reddit pretty conservatively maybe 30-60 requests per hour, but it suddenly started getting 403 errors. I switched to a mobile hotspot to rule out an IP issue, but got the same error.

I also sent a friend a thousand miles away a different Node.js script that only makes a single request to a Reddit page, like an r/AskReddit thread, and they got the same 403. Has Reddit just made this change?

Its been maybe 1 or 2 days since this issue started for me. I had a good 3 weeks no issues. Now ive switched to session based scraping.

Seems they did... you can still scrape as long as youre using a browser or cookies or whatever. https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/comments/1tq9vxo/protecting_communities_from_scrapers_and_platform/

Mini pc for cloud gaming

So I have a pc at my desk and I would like to use it on my tv so I can play forza.

I think my tv does 4k 144hz with dp 2.1 and 4k 120hz over hdmi. No ethernet by the tv in my apartment so wifi 7 would be a must?

I think a mini pc with Linux bazzite would be a pretty great experience right?

Anyone have a reccomendation?

Why are engagement bots hard for platforms to detect?

I know botting exists on many platforms. Twitch, kick, all social media pretty much... Im gonna use reddit as the example. I have seen services claiming to sell thousands of Reddit upvotes, and I am curious how thats even possible.

My assumption is that a service able to deliver 1,000 upvotes would need a much larger pool of accounts, because the same group of accounts voting on the same posts repeatedly should be easily detectable.

Im sure reddit is pretty aggressive against data center ips so I would imagine farms pay for resendential and mobile proxies so I get why they get by on the network side of things.

I understand theres ways to automate browser activity with selenium and being able to hide that its being controlled by scripts using stealth plugin. And with ai use im sure its becoming much harder to detect and block based on behavior. But when it comes to farms, are there not like a million browser fingerprints to identify them with?

I think with a virtual machine its pretty easy to blend in with all the other vm users when using default settings and it seems easy enough to change enough environment variables to create variance.

It seems like reddit should just block vms then right? Im assuming its pretty challenging to hide that you are using a vm use at scale while maintaining coherency.

I know some bot farms have many phones, but that sounds really expensive. Unless these phones are being used to bot for dozens of platforms 🤔

The more I think about it, it seems like these operators would be better off making money in legitimate business lol.

Flavor profile: Chocolate, vanilla, roasted, nutty, oak, raisin/coffee. No fruity taste. Dark, deep, and rich, but not decadent and indulgent like a syrup.

Texture/body: Creamy, smooth. Doesn't feel super refined, barebones, and sterile. Has a more significant full bodied mouthfeel with a long finish. Not thin like jameson or sharp like bourbon.

Serving: Neat or with ice ball.

I kinda winged this request, im not a big drinker so hopefully conveyed what I want right. Idk if im looking for a rum a scotch or what.
