Some words for the romance dreamers

Hopefully this reaches out to people in sensitive times when they feel the social life is difficult to navigate. Here are some words of advice for coping with this feeling:

"Don't drown them with attention. Let them miss you."

Often times when we meet someone new or a potential friend, we try to seize them as soon as possible through an avalanche of words and feelings. This can be overwhelming. To anyone in broad daylight, they would run away.

You don't want people to feel like they're held hostage, they have full lives just like you (**Yes, you have a life too, remember that.)** The people who are unafraid of losing you are the ones that think they have you figured out.

So leave them wondering. For a day, two days, half a week, 14 days, any long enough time. Let yours or theirs be the last message for a while. Life will naturally compel you both to reach out and want to keep the ball rolling. If you respond too soon, it will look overly eager and desperate for a response, and everyone is already getting a lot of attention nowadays anyway. Just give it a try.

"You cannot give your best to the world if you do not take the time to care for yourself"

It is unfair to lean on others to engage in activities, passions and events all the time. You have to have some willpower to do the things that help you flourish in life by yourself, so you can have a healthier distance and balance of someone's influence in your life. People will check in on you if they want to, but that should not be the expectation; **it should be the exception.**

While you let the message simmer, or you put some physical time between seeing people, take a walk somewhere you haven't gone yet. Try a new meal that you've been meaning to try soon. Read that book you've been meaning to finish. Hell, even spend a little time reflecting on your circle and your contributions to the circle. But don't linger on others to give you purpose. That is for you to discover and take full control of. You are capable of great things, so take the time to realize them as perfectly as possible.

Hope this helps! Maybe I can give more wise words, but this is all that came to mind for now ✌🏼 Ciao!!!

Time for some nostalgia cringe

Alright, time for me to atone for my sins and accept some masochistic pointing and laughing in my direction.

I made these pizzas (mac and cheese on first, shrimp and mango on last) about 11 years ago when I was in my first few years of college. And.... man, I'm so glad I stopped because I had absolutely no fucking clue what I was thinking 😂 ZERO taste or instinct in cooking.

At least they didn't kill me. That's the last thing I want engraved on my tombstone. "Idiot dies from eating awful homemade pizzas" 😵‍💫

So yeah. Put me in the prison cell if you want to 🙌🏼 I don't blame you 😅

Case against Rising Crusts (mainly DiGiorno's)

Okay, I wanna get something out of my chest and maybe get some "enlightenment"

I can't stand Rising Crust at all. Does anyone REALLY like the Rising Crust?

I feel like every time I prepare it, no matter how hard I try to get it right, the crust is always a pain to chew through, and I get tired wanting to eat the whole thing. I don't like feeling like I waste food, and this just seems like the most unpleasant thing to put yourself through.

But maybe I'm in the minority, and I know they can make a decent Stuffed Crust when the price is right.

SO DOES ANYONE EVEN LIKE THIS STYLE OF PIZZA??? Please, I really would like to know 😵‍💫

Walking/Biking Outside Playlist

Hope everybody's having a great start to their weeks! 🤙🏼😁✌🏼 I just made a playlist to try out during my daily bike ride and commute, and I thought to share it in this sub for anyone interested, along with inviting other people to share their playlists (I'm not judging at all unless you 100% wanna hear my take, I actually appreciate getting the chance to hear new music and playlists work out a lot better than albums and even the algo-radio sometimes too!)

I did best to have a good balance of music, nothing too dramatic or theatrical or whatever that takes you out of the moment. The playlist has a mix of 70s & 80s Classic Rock, some metal, jazz fusion, rap, nu metal and alternative, a couple of female singers, electronic and synth, funk and so on. Almost 5 hours of music too 😵 I wanted to share pictures too for artwork and some extra songs, but I can include them in the list after I post too!

Anyhoo, I hope you all enjoy, and I'll even take a message my way telling me what you think about my taste in music or if it stinks 😆 happy to see what anyone has to share too. Stay major, my dudes! 👏🏼✊🏼

The quote/lyric that changed your life

I'm reminiscing on Any Major Dude Will Tell You recently, and I remember the first time hearing the song that it really helped me through hard times and understanding that sometimes you gotta take the step back, take the L and look forward to the next good day coming around soon.

🎼 When the demon is at your door,

In the morning it won't be there noooo moooore!🎙

Anyway, what are the quotes/lyrics that made you into the major dude/dudette in your life today? 🤙🤙

Anime Donald Fagen

So I just started watching an anime from 2003, Ninja Scroll, completely unrelated from music or the band or anything, and the intro's playing. Then they do the cast showing in the opening credits, and I look up and think...

".... OH SHIT, DON! Uhh.... what's the word, my major dude? 👉🏼👉🏼 Stretched out your frame lately? How's Dizzy and Bird?"

Something to think about when you start every day

I pass by this quote every now and then going between home and work (uptown Chicago), and maybe you're thinking it today or it'll come to you in your worst times...

Either way, some wise words from a major dude 🤙✌️☮️🫶🤝

Music Head/Blank Canvas/Second Perspective Buddy

Yo Windy City Woke Minds, it's the Nightfly of Chicago happy to lend an ear for the music aficionatos, people with deep difficult questions, or maybe you just want some affirmation that this particular person you're concerned with is frankly on some weird shit (let's face it, they probably are if you're thinking about them this much).

Whether it's on here or in person or I dunno, carrier pigeon I guess, I'm happy to be an audience, a support, a second opinion. Your call 🤷🏽‍♂️

Anyway thank you all, you have been a wonderful audience, peace! ✌️
