Guyss Copart HELP please!!

I “accidentally” bid £800 on this BMW 318 with 171000 miles. I didnt read the additional information which says ENGINE FAULT. Also I didnt do market rese which is ofcourse my fault. So “just for fun” i bid £800 on it thinking people would bid higher but i instantly won it and no one else even placed a bid. I really dont wanna buy it. Im pretty new to copart and this would be my second purchase.

is there any way of getting out of this deal?

has anyone had a similar experience?

how bad of a purchase is this and could i possiblg make any money out of this?

thanks

Left High Beam not working

Hi guys,

The left high beam on my audi a3 8v pre facelift isn’t working. The DRLs and fog lights and dynamic indicators are all working fine. I bought it like this and the previous owner seems to have fitted aftermarket ones. I cant just replace the bulb as it seems to be sealed from the back. How much should a repair cost? Where can I find this exact light for replacement or instructions for repair?

Thanks a bunch

Rat infestation

Hi fellow Brummies,

I have been living in the Stockland Green area for a couple of years. There have been rats here for most of that time. Especially since the strikes. Now its gotten so bad that their droppings are the size of almonds and they’re the size of cats. All night I cant sleep because they’re chewing on wires in the attic. I once saw a squirrel above my upstairs window trying to find its way in. Also, the washing machine has leaked twice due to them having chewed up the pipes. Does anyone have any experience with this? Which pest control companies are good? How much should this cost?

Servicing and DIY

Hey guys,

I recently bought a Cat N 2014 (64 plate) Audi a3 8V 1.6 tdi with 175k miles off Copart. It has the DSG DQ200 gearbox. It had minor cosmetic damage. It has part service history. I bought a jack and 2 axle stand off halfords and I plan on servicing and maintaining it myself. I also need to replace the O/S wing mirror and both front headlights.

Are there any common issues I should be aware of regarding this particular model?

Any advice for someone new to DIY and servicing and messing around with cars in general?

Anything to be aware of regarding lifting the car and getting under it? It seems scary. 😟

I’m just gonna be watching videos off youtube to try getting it done. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is this the right sub to post this on?

TIA

Struggling to revise. HELP!

Hi everyone,

I'm a first year med student. I am resitting first year as I failed all my exams last year. I procrastinate way too much and can't find the will to study. i've never had to study hard. I crammed for GCSEs, A levels and UCAT and got away with it. But med school is just too hard. There are no past papers and no detailed material that covers everything. Its not as clear cut anymore.

I passed the attendance requirement the first time so wasn't required to attend in the resit so I decided to start working full time as finances weren't great. That was a huge mistake and I totally own up to it. I somehow managed to pass the semester 1 exams. For semester 2 i deferred them by applying for extenuating circumstances as I hadn't even covered a quarter of the content. Now I will be sitting those exams in the resit period and it is my last attempt.

Does anyone have any useful advice? Is there any uni specific tutoring for med school? Has anyone else ever been in this situation?
