First Tattoo Woodhaven / USA

Waited until 46 to pull the trigger in my first tattoo, gave me a lot of time to think about what I wanted. Lower arm half sleeve, considering extending to full sleeve. Second skin came off last night.

Question

Is it weird for my soon to be ex wife to still be friends with members of my extended family after she filed for divorce or am I as she says being ridiculous?

Beginner - 1 month in to lifting

46M
6ft
205lbs
Lift 5 times a week

I am trying to lose the fat while building muscle. Would I be better going for calories between 1500-1750 with as much protein as I could get or exceeding 2000 calories to get all needed proteins. I would really like to hit 180-190lbs.

Torn

Wife filed for divorce, 46M and 47F. Two boys 15 and 17. We have been together for 30 years married 20, HS sweethearts. We live in the same town we were born in, our entire lives. We love each other and in no way hate each other. I have heard and seen her crying just as much as I have been. As much as it pains me after 30 years we have become different. One MAJOR difference. Early in our relationship we both wanted to eventually move, so much so that we had an agreement that when our youngest graduated 4 years from now we were moving. Her friends never moved, her family never moved and her friend circle grew. All of my friends and family moved. Our love was bigger than everything until now. My desire to move has only grown and hers has diminished to nothing. Granted this is one major thing, there are several others but we do love each other. No infidelity, no hidden money or debt and as hard as it is she is right. We have spent over the first half of our life’s to each other and our parents and now we are different and have a chance to live and be happy in a different light.

My question is. If I were to move actually move somewhere I have always wanted and experience things I have always wanted to deep down. Would I fuck up the relationship I have with my boys if I was to move 3hrs to states away? I would always fly them out to me, they would always have a room with me, I would always be available to them just not within 10 minutes.

Brand new to using weights

46M. I have always been a cardio guy. Running, rowing, bikes were my thing, never actually lifted weights to really focus on my upper body.

I have started working out with the focus on gaining muscle or definition in my upper body. I’m using Fitbod for workout routines and am going heavy, for me, on the weights but light enough so I can complete my sets.

I’m getting straining in my neck during my
Workout. Based on google reviews they say it’s either the weight or my form. I’m considering using the lightest weights possible to focus on form and build up from there. Does anyone have any input on how to address this issue?

Hard weekend

My wife and me had scheduled a weekend getaway a while ago as a second chance opportunity this weekend. We never made it to this weekend, wife initiated the divorce. One of my sons has been taking it really hard and needed some time away. My wife couldn’t do it so I took him on our weekend getaway to hocking hills. We had a lot of fun just me and him, spent a lot of time talking about everything. Hiked 20 miles in total. We took the long hikes around so we had more time as just the two of us and we could talk in privacy. It was hard but I absolutely loved the time with my son. We experienced a first, saw a barn owl swoop down in front of us, kill its target, and eat it in the trail. We just stood and watched. But I couldn’t help to look around and know my wife would have loved it there just like we did. I got this image in my head of my wife and me standing there a year from now holding hands. It gave me false hope. When I got home I packed my bags for the week and hugged my kids goodbye.

This sucks

46M. Divorce in progress. My wife 47F asked for the divorce. We have been together 30 years, married 20. HS sweethearts, she is my one and only in life. I am just lost. I go from wanting to beg to stop this and find a way to slow it down so maybe she will see we don’t have to do this. To telling myself listen to her and help her with this to make her happy. And maybe one day somewhere down the road she might come back. From going to bed agreeing to help to waking up 2hrs later crying wanting to run to her begging when I know I can’t. Because what if I do run begging and it ends up destroying that hope I have that somewhere one day down the road we find our way back to each other. We are both having a rough go of it, I’ve heard her crying just as much as me. We both love each other but 30 years changes people.

Update - So Hard

Update to:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Divorce_Men/s/CoSrIgDmbk

I tried to reconcile. I found an apartment close to work and figured I could stay there Sunday evening through Friday and head home after work on Friday. Spend time with my kids, make dinner as I usually do in the weekends.

Her response was what if I meet someone in 7 months. Does that mean I can’t see them. 30 year relationship and she is worried about meeting someone in 7 months.

So hard

This is so hard. I have been with my wife since 16, high school sweethearts. She file paperwork but I haven’t been served yet. We love each other but life and differences in moving forward for the last half of our lives. I broke down because of a stupid fucking GIF that I would send my wife when she asked how she looked.

I’m dying. I know there’s a tomorrow but right now I’m
Fucking dying.

Marriage and dream crushed

My wife (together 30 years / married 20) and I have lived in the same city we were born in our entire lives. After all the years together, kids, and careers. Life happens, intimacy hasn’t occurred in a long time, we barely get time to spend with each other, I am a very outdoors person while my wife use to be. In this time all of my friends / siblings / parents have all moved away for a more rural life or to pursue their dreams. My wife’s family continues to live nearby and she has a friend group, plus she is no longer an outdoorsy person. I have always talked of my dream of moving to a much more rural area, could be the same state or a different state. My wife expressed similar dreams as well.

She broke it to me last night. She no longer has any intentions of ever moving or leaving the area we currently live in. She cares deeply for me, loves me as a family member, but is no longer in love with me as a husband and partner.

Frozen chicken tenders. Don’t have it in me for anything else.

Adding: she didn’t say she wants a divorce or not. Said her piece and walked away. I assume waiting for my response/reaction.

The move has been planned for a very long time. The plan was when our youngest graduates we will move. That was supposed to be 3yr and 11 months from now.

Eating my Hydrangeas

Found this morning while doing some yard work. Something is eating into my lime light hydrangea tree and the leaves on the lime light and strawberry sundae hydrangea bushes. Any tips or advice on how to address before it gets worse?

Deer aging

I happily took in a free fridge this year, now I have two garage fridges. One of them will be turned into an aging fridge for various game, mainly deer. I have always done my own deer from field to freezer to plate, no one touches it but me.

My question is. I am turning one of the fridges to an aging fridge. I intend to hang the venison and let it age in the fridge at a controlled temperature. What is your opinion on aging deboned venison vs aging bone in venison?
