I have a LIC Jeevan labh policy plan which is bad and I would like to close it. Next premium is due tomorrow. Paying tomorrow marks 4/4 quarter for this year and finishes my policy 5th year. I.e If I pay due tomorrow it completes 5 years on 15-Nov.
Question is should I pay tomorrow or avoid? Question comes because I am not sure how LIC vests my bonus, will the bonus for this year vest in policy year end? If bonus are vested SSV and GSV might increase.

SDE1 -> SDE2 promotion. Manager already been saying for promotion since past 4 months every one on one that I am deserving and top performer, same reciprocated by tech lead since last 4 months also.
However this promotion cycle my name was not put. Cited reasons :-
Less time in system, I had switched sometime back only (not declaring the exact time in post)
other more experienced people, who are not performing at par but told they need to keep some "time period between promotions for more senior folk + limited quotes per year for promotion"
I was being hinted at being top performer for many months and also openly discussed that I am doing the duties / expectations which are expected of other folks.
Still now the manager says next cycle promotion pakka you're already top of the line just don't worry, stay put for 6 more months.
Feeling robbed of all the work i put and I will lose the time value of 6 months. Thinking of putting papers. Am I over reacting or is this justified?

Currently i work in a big US MNC, it's no paymaster but it certainly pays well.
4 day wfo and not the latest tech makes me want to switch to a startup where I have more control or a very tech heavy MNC.
However when i hear you guy's horror story about management and CTOs pushing AI, the constant layoffs it stops me from taking this steps.
Atleast I have an understanding manager with whom i get along well, AI aware middle management (top management is still idiot) and some stability as an SDE.
But I feel this is also keeping me complacent.
