Would you pay someone to find money you’re losing on bad customers/lanes — or is this a dumb idea?

Quick background: I spent years doing finance work for a decently large fleet (80+ trucks), where part of my job was figuring out which routes were actually making money once you factored in real cost: so fuel, driver pay, deadhead miles, etc, not just what got billed.

Been thinking about offering that as a service to smaller operations. Just an idea right now… not looking to sell something now or plug my business.

I would look at your numbers for a couple weeks, tell you exactly which customers or lanes are quietly costing you money, and if I can’t find at least $25k a year in stuff you’re losing, you don’t pay me anything. Would be under NDA so totally confidential.

Before I put more time into this is this something you’d actually want, or do you already know this stuff cold and this is solving a problem that doesn’t exist? Trying to figure out if I’m onto something or wasting my time. Brutal honesty welcome.

Learning resources?

In an FP&A role. My background was not finance but economics, so I feel as though I lack knowledge on more intermediate / advanced concepts. Any textbook recommendations?

Best Musubi in NOVA?

I’ve been on a bit of a musubi kick lately and I’m trying to find the best spots in Northern Virginia. Whether it’s a classic Spam musubi, a teriyaki chicken version, or something more creative. I want to know where you’re getting yours.

Are there any hidden gems, local Asian grocery stores, or restaurants that do it particularly well?

Cap 1 Powerday. Follow up call with recruiter

Had my cap1 power day a few weeks back for product manager position. Recruiter wants to schedule a call. Does this mean I have a lock? Or is there a chance it’s to provide rejection (has happened before by another company).

Need Playboi Carti To Adopt Me Immediately 😭

Is it me or does anyone else wish Playboi Carti was their father. Someone to go to for guidance before making terrible decisions 😭 Dude would probably just stare at you silently, say “seeyuh,” and somehow you’d leave with your entire life figured out. Every fit would be hard by default and the house soundtrack would be generational. You’d ask for advice about college or careers and somehow end up learning aura is more important than both. Lowkey feel like he’d either be the worst parent imaginable or accidentally the wisest human alive.

What’s the BEST shoe money can buy?

Let’s say I have an infinite budget (I do not lol). What would you say is the best shoe money can buy right now? I know everyone has a different foot shape and some might work better for one person than another. But, generally speaking.

FP&A as expat?

Hello! I’d love to live in another country for at least a few years. I’m in FPA now at a US company (citizen). Are there particularly good markets abroad (in a relative sense, I understand market is cooked)? Does USA experience and academics grant an edge v other candidates?
