Last-Minute Camping Trip with Baby-Where Should We Go?

Hi everyone! My husband, our 10-month-old and our dog are hoping to go camping next week, and we could use some recommendations! 😊

We didn’t make reservations ahead of time because we had a bunch of home renos going on and weren’t sure when we’d be finished. We’re hoping to leave Tuesday or Wednesday and stay at the first spot for at least 5 days, and potentially move somewhere else for another 4–5 days.

We have a 21-foot pull-along trailer and would love somewhere within about 4–5 hours of Edmonton, preferably heading toward the mountains. We’d love somewhere with a creek, big trees and lots of walking paths. A playground would be a nice bonus, but definitely not necessary.

We’re open to sites that may still have availability or first-come, first-served spots!
This will also be our first time camping with a baby, so I’d love any tips or advice from parents who have done it. Our trailer doesn’t have room for a playpen, so we’re trying to figure out sleeping arrangements. Has anyone used bumper rails on the bottom bunk? There’s no gap between the mattress and the walls, and the mattress is quite firm, so I’m wondering if that could work.

Any campsite recommendations or baby camping tips would be SO appreciated! Thank you! ❤️

Paint colour help

Can anyone recommend a blue coloured paint that would look nice for this painting? I’m painting this design in my son’s washroom walls and ceiling.

Preferably something from Dulux, Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore.

I don’t like the colour in the info pic… It’s just the bubble patterns that I’m replicating with a different shade of blue for the background.

2nd picture is the entire room
3rd picture is the other credenza that I can move decor around/from

vertical stripes in nursery — window trim issue

Hi everyone! I’m painting my son’s nursery and could use some advice before I start taping everything off.

The first photo is my inspiration. The trim/baseboards/window casings are already painted a sage green.

I started measuring out the stripe spacing (second photo = my very rough tape mockup 😅), but I realized something I hadn’t thought about: the stripe placement overlaps awkwardly with the vertical window casings.

If I continue the pattern as measured, some of the green stripes would line up with the window trim and create what feels like one long extended vertical green line from wall to casing. I’m worried it might look strange or too visually heavy around the windows.

Would you:

  1. Keep the stripe spacing perfectly consistent across the whole room, even if it overlaps with the window casing?

  2. Adjust the spacing slightly near windows so it looks more intentional?

  3. Stop/restart the pattern around the windows somehow?

  4. Do something else entirely?

I’d love honest opinions (or photos if anyone has done vertical stripes with coloured trim/windows!). I’m probably overthinking this, but I really don’t want to tape and paint the whole room only to hate it afterwar

I just finished breast-feeding & am 6.5 months post partum. I’m at my heaviest (230lbs) and feel so depressed about it but today my doctor gave me a prescription for Wegovy! I was incredible shape before I got pregnant and when my son was four months old, they had double knee surgery so I’ve been very sedentary.

I would love any tips or advice for someone just starting who has no idea about best practices! How much weight can I expect to lose? I walk about 5 km a day and can happily incorporate swimming and weight lifting.

Now that I’m no longer breast-feeding, calorie deficit is definitely an option.

Also, will this effect me if we try to conceive again in the fall?
