I’ve lived here a month now. Gluten free people of Philly, where are you eating?

Woke up wanting pancakes and not a single fucking place in Philly has gluten free pancakes. What are your go-to restaurants??? So far the only promising ones I’ve found are Mission Taqueria and EMei. Tried PS&Co. Really wasn’t that impressed for how expensive it is. Please give me your recs!!! Should also mention that it’s a gluten allergy and not just a sensitivity.

Genuine question. Why no socks???

I come from a lagree background and there aren’t any lagree studios in the city I live in so I do [solidcore]. I still wear grip socks but why doesn’t everyone? I know it’s not required I just feel like if I’m sweaty I don’t want my feet to be slipping. Plus it just helps keep everything a little bit more hygienic (IMO).

Careers to pivot to with a social work Masters degree?

I don’t think I want to stay in social work. Not looking to go back to school again but willing to do certificate programs/trainings online. Also ideally would like to be making a decent amount of money. Doesn’t need to be a super high paying career though.

Help deciding if I should take a job or not.

I’m 2 years post MSW. Recently moved to a new state. Have been trying to get social work jobs but am having an impossible time and at this point just need a job. Had a job offer doing medical records but for a few reasons I’m apprehensive. One, the commute isn’t great. Not terrible but not great with traffic. Second, I have to pay tolls everyday which are going to add up. And three, the pay is quite terrible. But, it’s a job. Financially I’d be okay to keep looking for a little bit but I have had so few interviews that I’m worried no one else will hire me. WWYD?

Where to adopt a corgi in the area? Doesn’t need to be Philly necessarily, willing to travel.

The only place I’m familiar with is the south Jersey corgi rescue but wanting to explore other options as well.

What is a reasonable amount of time to take for landlords to fix appliances???

Just moved to philly from out of state so only familiar with those states laws. We moved into our apartment at the end of May. Our dishwasher worked for one day then broke. Come to find out it’s a 20 year old dishwasher. And yes I’m aware that a dishwasher is not a necessity but when we were promised this amenity in the apartment listing, we should have a working dishwasher. Anyway, we’ve had appliance repair people come and deem that we need a new dishwasher. Our management company has been so fucking useless and terrible. Absolutely zero communication about next steps. Always us reaching out. I’m thinking it won’t be until July that we have a new one. At what point can we start asking for money off of our rent because over 3 weeks for a dishwasher is fucking insane.

What are the chances of disneystore restocking sizes of this bracelet?

The size I need is sold out so I’m considering getting a different Disney clasp bracelet since I’m thinking they probably won’t restock my size.

Help with outside vs inside clothes.

One of my biggest goals is being able to sit on our couch after being out in the world. I don’t know when this irrational fear of germs developed. I remember when I first started dating my husband I would drive to his apartment, sit on the couch and then go sleep in his bed. Now, if we come home from being out we always shower, put on our “inside clothes” then sit on the couch. I know it affects him and it affects me too. I want to be able to be “normal”. What is so frustrating is that at like my sister and my parents house, I will literally sit on the couch, then go to bed after without showering. So I know it’s possible. But for some reason I’m struggling in my own apartment.

Any advice on getting hands to heal faster when they’re already peeling?

My hands peel like every other week from how often I wash my hands. It’s torture when they peel my skin flakes everywhere. Any tips to help with the healing process?
