Why couldn’t John push the wormhole generator to the Sun if his beams are light speed? Did Wally have to go through this?

John and others have said that lantern beams are light speed time and time again. In eclipsed part two, it said that the combined speeds of John and Wally were needed to reach light speed; but I’m wondering why John couldn’t just throw it to the sun himself. Why did Wally need to go through this?

Might sound like a noobish question but is each book a rebuttal to each Narnia books? Or are they a broad rebuttal of the whole verse?

Like is Northern Lights a rebuttal of The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, Subtle Knife of Prince Caspian, and Amber Spyglass of Dawn Treader? Also, is the Book of Dust a rebuttal of The Magicians Nephew, A Horse and His Boy and The Silver Chair?

I ordered all six books and I am curious to know, as it would be interesting to read through after my Narnia re-read is done

How to debunk “Thragg beats Superman because Thragg’s hands are so strong they make a tornado and pull you in, Superman’s hands have never done that”

These people I talked to say because Omniman withstood the pull of a black hole, and if Thragg’s hands can pull him in without even touching him and pushed him out of Viltrum’s orbit, then Superman doesn’t stand a chance because Superman’s average punches push people across buildings and he bites his teeth when holding black holes in the comics and such.

I don’t agree but I wanna know how yall would respond

Has anyone else had experiences where a Tankie would be dishonest about who they like?

“Look I’m anti Stalin, I just don’t like the west’s critique of ____” - in person or online

Liked videos: “Stalin did nothing wrong and I’m tired of explaining it (or something like that)”

“Look I think Putin’s (or Ayatollah or Ghadaffi or Assad or anyone like that) bad too I just don’t think the west____”

Liked videos: “No, Putin isn’t a dictator, here’s why”

“If the Bible was the word of God how come Jesus was supposedly alone when the writer described what happened in detail? Either God lied and someone else was there or it’s not reliable” -friend of a friend who argued with me

He pointed out that my face dropped and told me if I’m insecure then I know in my heart of hearts it’s a false religion. His attitude was very smug and he had his ways of saying other things that made me feel stupid and inferior.

Still feel insecure because of what people in other Bible studies have said to me about being pro choice

  1. Calling it a complicated issue makes me lukewarm so God will spit me out
  2. God won’t be happy with me voting for a candidate who allows millions of babies to die each day
  3. I’m dehumanizing babies in the womb
  4. I’m not open minded because I won’t watch any videos by Matt Walsh, Alley Beth Stuckey, Ben Shapiro, Charlie & Erika Kirk, on how Planned Parenthood works (claim that they don’t agree with everything those commentators say but that they give “facts the media won’t report about”)
  5. That I devalue the lives of those born from SA or teenage pregnancy
  6. That I’m unwilling to hear stories from pro life women and that I can’t admit it’s “not a sexist issue it’s a moral one”
  7. The one that makes me feel the most insecure is that I’m like the people in the OT who were okay with sacrificing babies to Moloch or Baal.
  8. The one that worries me the most is that I’m not willing to accept the Holy Spirit. That the Holy Spirit guides so many to see the demonic aspect of the abortion issue and can discern the spirits behind the pro choice movement, and that if I can’t see the same stuff as so many of them the problem must be with me and it’s a sign I don’t have the Holy Spirit.

DAE experience being told “hey I haven’t heard from you for a while? Miss you!”

And when a convo comes up again they stop and be like “hey I really miss you and it hurts my feelings that you never call” or “don’t have time”

Maybe even for a moment you feel guilty and call more only to remember again why you don’t want them in your life the hard way

Saw a Instagram reel that a lot of my friends liked, and agreed with most of it, but there was something so subtle I noticed that usually goes over people’s heads.

It was “types of women to stay away from according to Proverbs” and listed someone who, always argues, someone who is overtly confident they are always right, someone who cheats, etc etc; but what I don’t like is the fact that this guy portrayed it as “women” to stay away from.

He even acknowledge that this video can be used for the opposite sex, but that acknowledgement came after the first type of woman to stay away from, and that is “the woman who uses her looks to incite lust and tempt you”

The reason why he clarified after this one that it applies both to men and women is because “pornography is everywhere and it’s a man’s greatest struggle to not look at another woman these days” and then conveniently started clarifying “this goes for both sexes” after that one was over…

Actually, now that I’m typing this out, it’s not subtle at all… WTF…

This whole idea of women not struggling with lust is just putting the blame of men’s hormones as the woman’s fault because once the idea of female sexual desire is taken out of the way, it’s easier to blame the woman for the sex or lust.

I also don’t like how vague “lust” is in most sermons too. It’s almost like they cannot fathom attraction without lust, as it takes away guilt for people who see someone attractive, and guilt is what keeps people coming back…

Anyhow, just two cents
