Friend cancelled wedding restaurant 12 hours in advance

Hello guys, today is my big day (I’m blow drying my hair atm so I have some time to type).
My friend 12 hours before my wedding, told me she’s really sick bc of the temperature change and that she has exams to prepare on this weekend.

Surprised to see her cancel tbh as we said the deadline is August 7 for attendance and she has since then confirmed her attendance twice.

It’s been a week she’s been talking to me about her exams… can’t say she didn’t know in advance as universities always announce a two week exam period in advance.

She claims she’s sick but can come to our civil wedding this morning but skip the restaurant which costs us 200€pp. I told her nicely that she knew her exams were coming and ghat we spend a great amount of money on the reception and that she put us in a difficult position as we can’t cancel her seat at this time with such short notice.

If she’s so sick, why come to the civil atp? I feel massively disrespected and taken advantage of.

Would you cut this person off ?

How and when did you tell your employer that you’re pregnant ?

Hi I’m 13 weeks pregnant. I work in belgium as an employee in the private sector

I’m waiting for the 14th week appointment at the doctor since the doc will be telling me about the prenatal echo results and the gender of the baby.

However, I’m not sure when exactly to tell?

I will leave on holidays on the 19th of July for a couple of weeks… and my appointment at the obgyn is on Friday, right before I leave on holidays.

On top of that I was wondering how you would tell your employer? So far, I have not told a soul at work. Only parents know and my husband’s parents. By a lettre recommandée ? Meeting with manager ?

Tbf im scared of being fired because I have been once in the past when i was working part time and wanted to further study and my employer didn’t like what I did in my free time after work so… judging by that horrifying experience I would want to take the way that most protects me.

Thoughts? Advice?

Wedding shops in Belgium you recommend?

I went to wed2b and put a dress aside, but (!!!) I’m 13 weeks pregnant (first one) and by the time of the civil wedding I will be 20-22 weeks (mid or end August we are aiming for, we will find out the exact date on Monday at the commune). If the commune accepts, 16-17 of July 2026 would be great. Otherwise we will have to do it in August, between 20 and 25th 2026.

Idk if I should go with the mermaid dress anymore.. there’s room, for sure, but it’s tricky to tell last minute how my body will change and I’m thinking about switching to a princess / a-line wedding dress.

I don’t have a budget but I feel most comfortable at stopping at 1500€. I live in Belgium. I don’t necessarily want designer.

Thoughts?
Shops you recommend going to? I love boheme style dresses, and lots of lace.

AITAH for withdrawing our offer because the real estate agent wants us to rewrite it according to his conditions before presenting it to the seller?

My partner and I submitted an offer on an apartment in Belgium after visiting it with the agent.

We wrote the offer based on what was discussed during the visit. However, instead of presenting it to the seller, the agent came back asking us to modify it according to his own template and to provide additional information such as:

\\- how much money we intend to borrow;
\\- how much of our own funds we intend to invest;
\\- the interest rate;
\\- the duration of the loan.

The biggest issue is that one of the clauses he wants us to add directly contradicts both our discussions during the visit and the conditions we included in our offer.

The current owner carried out works on the property (including a veranda and replacement windows) without the necessary approval from the commune. The commune has required the owner to regularise the situation and a decision is still pending.

During the visit, we discussed this issue with the agent and were told that any consequences of the commune’s decision would remain the responsibility of the owner. We therefore included conditions in our offer stating that the seller would bear any costs resulting from the commune’s decision.

The agent is now asking us to add a clause stating that we accept the current urban planning situation of the apartment and that urban planning matters are not an issue for us.

To make things even stranger, the agent wrote that he would go back to the owner \*\*once the offer is completed and the requested information has been provided\*\*, which makes me wonder whether our original offer has even been presented to the seller.

At this point, we are considering withdrawing our offer entirely.

Would we be the a-holes for walking away?

Hi everyone,

I’m in very early pregnancy / pregnancy of unknown location and I’m waiting for a follow-up with my gynecologist.

FYI: I was on the pill (I have been taking Slinda for 5 years) when this happened. I also did not have any period.

I was already seen in the ER. My hCG is positive (but very low) and has risen a little in < than 24 hours, but they couldn’t see anything on ultrasound yet because it’s still too early. They also saw some free fluid in my lower abdomen/pelvis, but said it could resorb on its own and didn’t seem alarming at that moment. I was discharged because my vitals and bloodwork were stable.

However, I’m still worried because I’ve had symptoms for 8+ days now:

persistent pain (from mild to sharp stabbing) can be in the middle/uterus area, and in the right side going away and then coming back

dizziness, especially when walking

racing heart, feeling out of breath with normal walking

nausea and weakness

liquid yellow diarrhea for more than a week

frequent need to pee,
warm waves / feeling suddenly very hot

no vaginal bleeding at all

I’m worried because I know some of this can overlap with ectopic pregnancy.

Please help by sharing your experiences on how I should interpret these symptoms.
