App required to charge???

what is it with some of these stations (looking at you, graviti) requiring you to download and use their app just to charge? Can you imagine the uproar there would be if all ICE owners were forced to use an app just to pump fuel? I dont get why charging stations burden 100% of their customers with the extra hassle simply for owning an EV.

And then what if the app errors out.....repeatedly.....I might be speaking from experience here. It never did power up the cable but it sure as fuck charged me...that part of the app works perfectly.

I wish they would just put a damn card reader on the charger and be done with it. I dont need yet another shady app snooping on who knows what.

So long and thanks for 20 summers

I honestly dont remember when I bought these, it was at least 20 years ago. Theyve racked up untold thousands of miles, at least 2 decade's worth of warm weather, and even absorbed a few minor get-offs without a hitch.

The left zipper had been getting wonky these past few months, but today it finally gave up completely. I got to ride home from work with the leg taped shut.

But, huge shoutout to JR for building stuff that lasts. I would be replacing these with a similar set from JR, but they no longer make them with full-length side zippers, and the new ones are impossible to put on/take off while wearing footwear, which is a huge plus (for me, anyway).

No major gear brands make mesh overpants except icon, so I will be getting the Icon Mesh AF as a replacement.

Flag waving lessons?

Dear Dorna:

I think its really cool that you have guest flag wavers to finish the races. Its a great way to show support for the sport from celebrities and dignitaries that aren't typically associated with MotoGP. I think its awesome.

....but...

can we please, PLEASE have someone show these people how to properly wave a checkered flag *before* the end of the race? This would take a minute or so of time, and would save them from the embarrassment of doing some halfhearted wiggling with a still-furled flag in front of a worldwide audience.

----fans everywhere who know what a properly waved flag looks like.

got a cheapo exhaust slider, dunno if the bolt backed out or broke, but it disappeared mid ride. Dollar Tree zip ties for the win. and I came up with a new saying: "when your zipties are cheap, use a heap."

Anyone carry a fire extinguisher on trips?

Ive always carried one in my 4 wheeled vehicles, and seeing pics/vids of bikes burning to the ground sicken me, so I want to carry something on trips. I know a fullsize extinguisher would be way too bulky, but I was considering one of these:
