Disney world really needs to something about the scooters

Disney World seriously needs to address the scooter problem. I’m not talking about people who actually need them that’s not the issue. The issue is people speeding through packed walkways like they’re on a racetrack.
I’ve had my foot run over more than once, and it’s not just annoying it actually hurts. When the parks are crowded, people need to be more aware of their surroundings. Slow down, watch where you’re going, and remember there are actual people walking around.
Disney needs to do more about scooter safety because getting your foot crushed while trying to enjoy a vacation is not exactly the magic anyone signed up for.

Why does my store schedule 5 sanitation team members at the same time?

I’m on the sanitation team, and there are times when five of us are scheduled for the same shift. It feels like more people than we actually need, and sometimes there isn’t enough work to keep everyone busy. Is this normal at other Whole Foods stores, or is it just my location?

Why Do People Have No Aisle Awareness?

I don’t know if anyone else’s store has this problem, but ours definitely does. People will stand right in the middle of the aisle having full-blown conversations like nobody else exists. Meanwhile, nobody can get through, especially the cleaning team when they’re trying to get to a spill or clean something up. They end up reaching over people, and sometimes things get knocked over because the aisle is blocked.
And don’t even get me started on the people who walk one mile an hour while staring at their phones or not paying attention. Then they end up running into someone else’s cart. It’s a grocery store, not a social club. Have your conversation somewhere that isn’t blocking everyone else. Pay attention to your surroundings and keep the aisles moving. It makes things so much easier for customers and employees.

Why doesn’t Walmart just keep everything on pallets?? This makes no sense

Why not just ship groceries on clean pallets that actually match where they’re going instead of everything coming in mixed and needing to be sorted again in the backroom?
From what I’ve seen, a lot of it already shows up as mixed pallets anyway, so employees are basically unloading it and then breaking it down and reorganizing it before it even hits the shelves.
So instead of it being simple like truck → pallet → shelf, it turns into truck → mixed mess → sort everything → then stock it.
I get there’s probably a whole logistics system behind it and it’s about saving space or money or whatever, but from the store side it just looks like extra work. Stuff is still getting handled multiple times before it gets out to the floor.
Just feels like there’s got to be a more straightforward way to do it.

Why don’t some of these kitchens have air-conditioning?

I genuinely don’t understand how restaurant kitchens still get away with not having AC.
It’s over 100° outside, then you spend your whole shift standing over grills and fryers in an even hotter room. You’re drenched in sweat before the rush even starts, and everyone just says it’s “part of the job.”
If someone ends up with heat exhaustion, heat stroke, or passes out, that shouldn’t be treated like it’s just another day in the kitchen. That’s a workplace safety issue.
Then restaurants wonder why they can’t keep good cooks.

What was the most brutal time you’ve ever been to Disney?

I went back in 2008 me and my family went to Disney World. We went in late August. The heat was so brutal that my whole body was covered in sweat. My shirt was completely soaked and also my pants. 👖 I remember getting a really bad sunburn that day into this day. I will not go back in August. You couldn’t pay me to do that again

What are your thoughts on cashless locations?

I honestly don’t see the problem with these for me. They’ve made it 1 million times easier when it comes to ordering food, especially at Casey’s corner. I don’t like the fact of carrying around a ton of cash where it could fall out or get stolen plus if somebody tries to steal my card, I can instantly cancel it and call my bank.

The hardest part about working in the restaurant industry is seeing great employees quit

One of the hardest parts of working in restaurants is watching the best employees quit. The people who show up, work hard, help everyone out, and keep things running smoothly are often the first to leave. Then everyone wonders why the restaurant is struggling. Good employees don’t just leave for no reason, and by the time they’re gone, it’s usually too late.
