Adventure Time Drag Brunch

Last week I got to go to an Adventure Time themed drag brunch performed by an all queer and all Black cast. Had so much fun at this event! Lemongrab remixed a song with “Unacceptable” interlaced perfectly throughout. We had Ice King transition to Simon, Flame Princess, Tree Trunks, LSP, Magic Man, Jake, and Finn revealing his gloriously long blonde hair. Finn’s performance was an ode to his friendship and closeness with his best friend and brother Jake. It had me and others crying as it brought up the scene where Finn and Jake reunited in death. The last pic has the names of all the performers.

Adorable Garf stickers

Visited with a friend today at a coffee shop in ATL. Found these cute Garf stickers. It was hard to choose one but I settled on the tulip sleeping Garfield. Art work done by a local artist—Sarah Lewis//housechimes

I’m not sure if she’s got a site or not.

Muppets in theater

I got to see Muppet Treasure Island at the movies today! I only ever saw it on VHS. So it was a real treat to see it on the big screen for the first time. I wore my Kermit backpack as well.

Cook your own pancakes?

Okay yall I swear growing up this family from my church said they’d go to place where you can cook your own pancakes at the table in Gatlinburg. They went every spring. But I’m here and cannot for the life of me figure out what place they were talking about. Does it exist? Did it ever?

Apparently this was 20 years ago. I don’t know how it’s been that long.

Habitat not for humanity

Went looking for a nightstand and found some coffee machines. These were the highest priced ones. But the rest were still over $500. Just gobsmacked. My fault for going to the rich part of town.

AMA: But I’m a Cheerleader Rewatch

For the past 4 years, I’ve watched But I’m a Cheerleader, every Pride month. It’s become one of my favorite movies to watch. I love the cheer at the end and it melts my heart every time. It’s different from my own conversion “therapy” experience. And an all around beautiful movie! So pals bring on the questions because I love talking about this movie :)

Teen nephew still sucks his thumb

Hi all! I’m watching my niblings for a good part of the summer. I’ve known my nephew for 10 years since he was 4 years old. He has always sucked his thumb. He also will sometimes carry his baby blanket with him. He only does this in the house and not at school or in public. He is aware he is doing it. I want to approach this carefully. I’m the aunt, I know it’s not responsibility to “fix it.” But I am very grossed out by it. There’s always a lot of saliva when he pulls his thumb out. I have my own sensory things. I can handle seeing most body fluids but mouth stuff (saliva, spit, lugies (sp?), and vomit) make me feel sick in the stomach. Also the idea of him touching stuff around the house after having his thumb in his mouth also makes me feel sick in my stomach. I have anxiety and my nephew shows a lot of anxious tendencies. I’m not sure the best way to approach this with my nephew. I don’t want to shame him or embarrass him. Or make him think or feel something is wrong with him. I don’t want to take away a safe self soothing practice either. What are some ways to approach the thumb sucking with him? Or more insight into thumb sucking that might be helpful? Thank you!

The creepy turtle

Mods: please let me know if this post is allowed.

Saw this in an anti ai sub. A truly unsettling turtle was generated. This turtle is not a guy you want to run into in the city at night.

Please feel free to share pics of any off brand turtles you’ve seen/found.

Edit: here’s the link for the original post. And surprise to no one it was deemed ai by the group. https://www.reddit.com/r/isthisAI/s/43fm4u3Ch4

Shared the post here so we could all witness and mock the poorly “created” tmnt. I mean this guy looks like he likes the foot clan. But for *other* reasons

Advice on Used 2021 Subaru Outback Premium

Hi all! We’re looking at buying our first Subaru. We found a used 2021 Subaru Outback Premium. Certified Pre-Owned. 52.9 k miles and priced at $22k with fees.

Are there any issues or concerns for this model?

Edit: thank you for all the advice and insight. Unfortunately I missed out on this one. I quite literally fell asleep on this one. Car was there this morning. I took a nap and when I woke the car was sold. We’re going to keep looking for Subaru Outback. Based on what you all shared it sounds like it’s a good vehicle choice.
