So my Lidar module went bad and would no longer turn. Yes I rotated the sensor under turret and there was no debris. I found a very comparable sensor on Amazon that looked like a near perfect fit for $28 with free Amazon prime shipping. Installed it in 5 mins and the roborock immediately went back to station and no more lidar ramp up errors. Very weird I may order spares just in case considering the replacement works and is inexpensive.
The replacement said it was only compatible with Qrevo model but it’s clear to me at least that roborock uses a very similar module for the lidar across its models.
Pictures the broken module nothing appears to me wrong but the motor in it will not move the spinning part at all.

Hey everyone,
My S8 MaxV Ultra started throwing the classic "LiDAR obstruction blocked" / Error 1 a few weeks ago.
Symptoms:
- Turret spun freely by hand but made a slight catching/grinding sound
- After cleaning + blowing it out, it still wouldn't spin properly
- When powered on, the LiDAR motor only did a tiny back-and-forth calibration wiggle and never spun up
What I tried:
- Thorough cleaning of turret + window
- Manually spinning it dozens of times
- Lifting the module to reseat it on the bearing
- Full disassembly (removed black caps + the 4 screws on the LiDAR module itself)
- Found a tiny piece of grit/debris way down at the bottom (looked like bird seed or plastic flake)
Even after all that, it still only did the little wiggle. No hair, no obvious obstruction — the motor itself had failed. (I think)
Board markings on my module:
TP-0 E465731 (LDS07RR family)
What I ordered:
This exact replacement module (photos matched pretty closely even tho this one says its for QREVO):

Anyone see a issue? I did reach out to Roborock not to hopeful tbh because I took this apart and also because I bought in 2024 so warranty is probably shot anyways. The one I linked in Amazon is not advertised for mine but to me it is very close match.
There was no warning this was going to happen because I just did use this from just the other day. I did flip it upsidedown to clean the rollers and bin but that shouldn't have done anything...
Sigh
