**0:00–0:33 — Everything working normally**

At the beginning of the video, all keys are working correctly:

* `Fn Lock + 1` correctly works as **F1** and the other F-keys work normally.

* `Fn Lock + Fn + 1` correctly activates the **media key** function.

* `Fn + S` and `Fn + A` correctly work as the **Windows/Mac toggle**.

* The entire **number row** is working perfectly.

**0:34–1:03 — Problem appears after pressing “Reset All Keys”**

At 0:34, I press **“Reset All Keys.”**

After the reset:

* The **number row continues to work perfectly**.

* The **F1–F12 row stops working**, even when **Fn Lock is enabled**.

* The **media keys continue to work correctly** using `Fn Lock + Fn + 6`.

* So, the issue specifically affects the F1–F12 functionality while the other functions continue to work.

**1:06 — Accidentally closed Chrome**

At around 1:06, I accidentally closed Chrome, so I used `Ctrl + Shift + T` to reopen the previously closed tab.

**1:23–1:40 — Confirming the F-row issue**

From 1:23 to 1:40, I enable **Fn Lock** again and demonstrate that:

* The F1–F12 keys are still not working.

* The media-key functions are still working correctly.

**1:40–2:14 — Firmware reset fixes the problem**

From 1:40 to 2:14, I perform a **firmware reset**.

After resetting the firmware, everything starts working normally again:

* Number row works correctly.

* F1–F12 row works correctly.

* Media keys work correctly.

* The keyboard functions normally again.

**2:17–End — The same problem happens again**

From 2:17 until the end, I press **“Reset All Keys”** again.

The issue appears to be **directly reproducible**. The keyboard initially works perfectly, but after using **“Reset All Keys,”** the F1–F12 functionality and the `Fn + S` / `Fn + A` Windows/Mac toggle stop working. A **firmware reset temporarily restores all functionality**, but using **“Reset All Keys”** causes the same problem again.

I just turned on my laptop, and the Alt key is working like the Windows key, while the Windows key is working like the Alt key. The last time I used my laptop, these keys were working perfectly normally, and the F1–F12 keys were also working properly. However, today they are behaving differently, as you can see in the video.

I’m very new to using a 65% keyboard, and this issue has already happened to me once or twice before. Whenever I reset the keys, the problem gets fixed. However, I’m still unable to use the F keys properly.

I have already done a firmware reset once before, and this is now the second time I’m resetting the keys. Without me changing or doing anything, the keys sometimes work as 1–12 / F1–F12, while other times they work as media buttons.

I am currently looking at cb trinity ( optical switches ) but i am very very confused which one should I buy , I don't have a budget of more than 3k , I just want a reliable keyboard ( for typing and short game session " for 1-2 hrs ")

It's been almost 3.5 years since I purchased my Lenovo LOQ with an Intel i7-14700HX and RTX 4060. During this time, my laptop has undergone approximately 6–8 motherboard replacements,, one heatsink replacement, one speaker replacement, and one camera module replacement.

I'm now extremely frustrated with the constant repairs. I still have 9 months of warranty remaining, and I can extend it for another year. However, my biggest concern is what will happen once the warranty expires. If the laptop continues to fail every few months, it essentially means the machine never had a reliable lifespan of 5 years—it has only been functioning for a few months at a time before requiring major repairs.

Is there anything I can do in this situation? What are my options? I would really appreciate any advice.
