Non-patch pockets with diagonal/ slanted openings?

Hi all! I am knitting a cardigan top-down (in the round & then steeked) and I want to add pockets with diagonal openings. Whats the best way to do this? I imagine I could somehow knit the outside of the pocket in short rows along with the rest of the garment, increasing the short row as I go until it equals the number of stitches held on waste yarn for the lining? For some reason, I’m having trouble conceptualizing how to do this. Thanks in advance!

WANTED: Have you seen this yarn?

Hello all! Looking for help identifying this lovely worsted weight wool yarn. I found this single skein in a charity shop recently (with no label), and I’d love to order some more so I can make a cardigan with it.

I know this is a long shot! But do you recognize this yarn by any chance??

Hi all! I’m interested in trying to modify a skirt pattern to knit the body in moss stitch (American meaning) rather than in stockinette. Unfortunately, the pattern calls for short rows to shape the skirt, and I’m anxious that I’ll make a mess of it if I try to execute a short row in a mixed row stitch pattern. How complicated would this be? Have any of you brave souls tried it? What short row style (German, Japanese, W&T, etc) would lend itself best to this?

** I’m worried both about (a) messing up the short row itself in a situation where ws =\= purl and (b) messing up the moss stitch pattern by interjecting extra stitches into if for the short rows.

*** Changed the flair from “help” because as I was typing this, I became more and more convinced that actually doing this is beyond my skill at this point. But I still thought it might be interesting to gather some info about how possible/ obnoxious this would be for a more experienced knitter.
