Omarchy Quattro Plugins

Over 500 community built plugins in 3-days. I did not expect this. From small ideas, to outlandish thoughts, to: "oh, what does that one do"?

Show off to your friends and family. Tell them how much more advanced this opinionated distro is in comparison to what they're used to. Tell them what you like, don't like, hate, and wished changed. Challenge them to use Omarchy Quattro for a week or a month or a year. Post about it. Talk about it. Share your excitement. Share your pains. Do not be afraid to express yourselves. All feedback cannot be positive. Just don't complain; that's pointless. Instead, suggest solutions. I know AI is here and people can just churn out things in a prompt. But you're human. Unlike many creatures on this planet you're able to think -- so do so!

Do not be afraid to try similar plugins. You may like one over another. That is fine. That is the point. Visit the repository of a plugin you like and suggest improvements, report issues, or show your appreciation. However, please be safe. Have an agent help you assess the code base before installation. Just like the AUR, Omarchy cannot guarantee all plugins are safe, so please take precaution. It is your system, it is your decision, it is your responsibility to take care of your system and yourself.

But do have some fun and enjoy.

Dizziee Quattro Enhancements

dizziee.system-stats

Yes, we have the infamous btop, but why not enjoy a quick glace at hardware data. Right-clicking the icon allows you to set statistics icons to your bar.

dizziee.system-updates

Full control. That is what I want. It is my machine. OK, buddy. Choose to update only the Arch repos, or only the AUR, or only Flatpaks, or update the entire system. The choice remains yours. P.S., it comes with neat status indicators that ping respective repositories to make sure they're online.

dizziee.cline-model-usage

There are so many AI harnesses (check that word out lol) now, this is another. Maybe give it a try? Works with 3rd-party API keys. Pretty cool. This plugin just displays the stats of your usage with it.

dizziee.opencode-model-usage

Probably the king of open-sourced AI harnesses by now. Definitely the most popular by far for a pure TUI experience, works with practically anything AI related and updated constantly; multiple times per day too. Nonetheless, keep track of your progress.

dizziee.auto-wallpaper

Omarchy is all about the synced themes. The gorgeous wallpapers and colors. So many wallpapers. I can't chose just one. I have to keep changing them with binds. Blah. No more. This plugin cycles through the current theme's wallpapers for you at an interval. Set it and forget it. It's smart, it will keep your settings even if you change your theme. It's awesome.

dizziee.power-profiles

This one came out of necessity and I'm still confused why this option was taken out of the menu, but it's back with this plugin. I prefer my system on power-saver 95% of the time. This plugin allows me to easily accomplish that.

You can find over 230 plugins that the community has built and shared:
https://omarchyplugins.com/

Thanks for trying them out, and of course if you have any problems or suggestions, please open an issue =]

I also want to stress that I put in great effort to keep these plugins minimal. I am not a fan of services that hog memory resources, CPU threads/cycles. So, don't worry. They will not "bloat" your system.

OMARCHY QUATTRO RELEASED | 4.0.0

The Quattro Release

Omarchy 4 aka Quattro is the biggest release since the project started. The entire desktop shell has been reimagined in Quickshell: the bar, launcher, menus, notifications, on-screen displays, control panels, lock screen, and polkit agent now all live inside a single long-running shell process with a plugin architecture. That means Waybar, Walker, Mako, SwayOSD, hyprlock, hypridle, swaybg, and polkit-gnome are all gone, replaced by one coherent, fully-themed, IPC-scriptable shell.

You can upgrade an existing Omarchy installation to Quattro by first:
- Using SUPER+ALT+SPACE:
- Update > Omarchy
- Then Update > Omarchy to Quattro.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A ONE-WAY-TRIP, YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE OR USE A SNAPSHOT TO GET BACK TO Omarchy 3.x.x. Be sure in your intentions. There's a YouTube walkthrough below!

Install on new machines with the ISO:

Always take a backup of important data!

Changelog is WAY too long, but ENJOY! --> https://github.com/basecamp/omarchy/releases/tag/v4.0.0

You can learn about Quattro directly from DHH via YouTube if you're not nerdy enough for the changelog.

Omarchy Quattro: Release Candidate 3 (RC3) --> QUATTRO TOMORROW 08/14/2026

Yes, DHH will make a video telling you all about it. So, for those who want a preview before making the decision to dive in have a choice to stay behind on Omarchy 3.x.x. But be warned, it's a one-way-trip. Once you go forward, there is no turning back.

You can upgrade an existing Omarchy installation to Quattro by first Update > Omarchy, then Update > Channel > RC, then Update > Omarchy to Quattro. Just remember to Update > Channel > Stable after the final release!

Or install it fresh on a secondary machine using the ISO: https://iso.omarchy.org/omarchy-4.0.0.rc4-2.iso

Always take a backup of important data!

And because the list of changes is too long, here's a link to the RC3 changelog: https://github.com/basecamp/omarchy/pull/6231

Nuvio-Linux Desktop Application | MPV | HDR | Discord RPC

DISCLAIMER: This is a **HARD FORK** of the official Nuvio Desktop application that is currently in development and in Alpha | https://github.com/NuvioMedia/NuvioDesktop
This project is heavily AI assisted. And was developed on Arch Linux using an Omarchy Hyprland. The hard fork's purpose is to specifically focus on Linux Desktop development.

Looking for TESTERS that do not need someone to hold their hand as we navigate on the improvements of this Nuvio-Linux application.
Hard-Fork | Nuvio Linux | https://github.com/JJDizz1L/NuvioLinux

What was improved since the hard fork:
- Native Linux media playback via MPV (libmpv) — all overlay UI works on X11 and Wayland.
- Hardware acceleration. Zero-copy decode via VA-API and NVDEC (NVIDIA).
- HDR support. The embedded player loads your mpv.conf wholesale, so HDR/color configuration — tone-mapping, target-peak, inverse-tone-mapping, profiles — applies as-is.
- Discord Rich Presence. Show what you're watching or browsing on your Discord profile. Configurable under Settings → Integrations → Discord Rich Presence.
- Arch Linux distribution. A first-class Arch package with a bundled JRE (no system Java required), including a launcher and desktop entry.
- Added disk (storage) caching so memory doesn't bloat. Users can choose how much temporary cache is stored while media is playing via Settings.

The application is stable, uses about 2-3GB of system memory while playing a 4K HDR Dolby Vision stream.

I do hope to send PRs upstream to make it into the official Linux Nuvio Desktop app, but how it's currently structured, it's not possible.

Again, I am looking for testers on this hard-fork, if you wish to make contributions to the official Nuvio Desktop application, the link is above.

stremio-linux-shell | Linux Updates | Another one!

Streamio v5 update on Linux

I am super impressed with the consistency on the Stremio team as of this last month. Particularly with their frequency of updates on Linux packaging; both through Flakpak and through their Rust shell (which I prefer).

Because it uses MPV to play streams, everything I throw at it plays: H.265, H.264, AV1 etc.

The application is Wayland native. And because I use Hyprland, which arguably has the best HDR implementation on Linux, I want to push further.

In-app, most HDR, HDR10, HDR10+ streams just play without fail. But recently when watching a Dolby Vision (proprietary) stream, the tone-mapping renders tint is very off (green/pink/purple). This is the last hurdle, at least for me, for Stremio to be perfect on Linux.

Keep up the great work guys!

AsMedia Chipset Fail

Hello fellow PC Master Race companions,

I am writing to discuss a concern, if any, about AMD Chipsets via AM5 motherboards. In no way am I trying to sound the alarm or point blame at a specific company's motherboard design.

I want to make clear, that I am a Linux user and I do have access to a Windows storage disk [that I use maybe 2% of the time on my system]. I also wish to disclose that the spooky AI did analyze my journalctl logs; so maybe a grain of salt or maybe take it serious as the data and errors are real.

Last year, October 2025, I owned a ASUS ROG X670E CROSSHAIR EXTEME motherboard that I've owned for 3-years since the launch of AMD AM5. If you don't know, this motherboard was absurdly priced at $999 USD. The only reason I paid for it was not the OC potential or to show-off online, but because I wanted 5 NVMe slots and many native USB-C ports. Yes, I know I could have saved a bunch of money with add-on cards etc. Nonetheless, the board worked like a champ throughout its life with me.

Randomly maybe 3-5 days before the end of its warranty, it began to randomly shut off. Sometimes while gaming. Sometimes while browsing the Internet. Sometimes from being idle. Of course, I know to go in the UEFI (BIOS) to change some manual settings I had set; particularly with AMD Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) and manual tunings to the RAM. Nothing worked; even at stock the system would shutdown. I would go into Windows just to make sure it was not a Linux only problem. It would not even make it to the desktop. I have two BIOS chips on the X670E EXTREME, so I switched to the non-used BIOS that wasn't updated for years as a backup, and even that could not save the hardware faults.

I had no choice but to RMA the motherboard to ASUS. They sent it back within a week and said the problem was resolved, but almost immediately, the system began to shutdown immediately over and over and over. I sent the motherboard back again. ASUS sent it back to me again. More shutdowns. Over and over and over, I and ASUS RMA kept sending and receiving the motherboard with no resolve to the underlying issue.

Now, it's February 2026. I've grown cold, angry, and confused. I am at end's whits. WTF is going on? I had a brand new AMD 9950X3D. I had a brand new AMD XFX 9070 XT Mercury and a 1300W EVGA Platinum Power supply. What gives?

So, to exclude these devices, I sent all of my devices in for RMA: CPU, GPU, Power supply, RAM -- everything. They were all replaced by their respective manufactures and returned brand new. Thank you for warranties! However, when ASUS returned my X670E for the 4th time and I rebuilt my system -- [again]; there's no way it would just boot up and shutdown, right? *sigh*

This is where OpenCode and AI come in to analyze my system. I believe at the time I was using Mini Max M2.5 -- because it was free lol. It's what analyzed my system's logs wrote the photo on this post. Turns out my system was screaming for dear life as the AsMedia 1142 chipset was failing, causing many PCIe lanes to fail, and USB failures. Ultimately, making the motherboard itself -- useless.

It got worse the next day. The system would not POST at all. I could not get the system to acknowledge or initiate the BIOS Flashback without shutting off almost immediately -- And you don't even need a CPU or RAM plugged in to get that working. Holy shxt. Something is truly wrong here.

It was not until I provided the information in the screenshot to ASUS and printed a copy to put in the box with the 5th RMA where ASUS offered to swap out the motherboard for another. Though the problem is now resolved via replacement hardware -- it really makes me question the professionalism of the employees and company in charge of diagnostics.

Should we trust AI or the human "professionals"?

Don't be angry at me guys. I'm vibe coding an AV2 converter TUI in Rust

No, it's not on github, because it's not ready. But if it ever gets to that point, I will make a new post and update this one.

Omarchy 4.0 QuickShell To Allow For Plug-in Customizations!

This particular plug-in is being developed by Omarchy's Aether and CLIAMP creator, bjarneo.
https://github.com/bjarneo

No, Omarchy 4.0 is not out yet, but is actively being developed and this demo is not what will ship with the new Omarchy Shell. However, you should get excited that bjarneo was nice enough to share this configuration on his GitHub if you want to use it as a plug-in once Omarchy is ready for the transition away from Waybar, Mako, etc.
