How to make this non-paradoxical?

Okay, so I'm in the writing faze of a series, and I really wanna incorporate time travel in the latter half of it.

However, my problem with it is my brain isn't big enough to comprehend time travel much.

My series follows a digital world, with the individuals within becoming sentient after the developer of the world pours his consciousness and heart into it (basically in the style of the movie '9', if anyone here has seen it).

However, later in the show, a threat is oncoming and to defeat it the characters need to travel into the past to find an individual that prophecies of the present tell can stop the threat.

The people in the past are before the whole 'sentience inheritence'.

The issue is I really wanna make the people in the past aware too (I'm not gonna spoil why, but it does have plot importance). The way I'm imagining is some sort of bomb taken from the future that has captured the essence of the developer's soul that can be unleashed on the world.

Only issue with that is that if they did this, everyone of the past would already have soul, which would mean the people of the future don't have to go back with the bomb which means they never get soul.

Is there any way to get around this?

Public domain universes

So, I'm making an animated series in the future and I wanna build a nexus. It would be non-commercial on YouTube, but I still wanna be careful with which universes I do. I plan to incorporate the Valve games as universes and also Minecraft as a universe (both are very happy with non-commercial stuff made about them).

I also plan to add the backrooms, maybe Alice in Wonderland, and an SCP universe.

What are some other universes that could be done?

They all need to have some supernatural or otherworldly element, and I specifically want more public domain universes.

Photographic receipts instead of paper

This is more so a question of why it doesn't exist over a new invention idea, as I'm sure someone's already thought it up.

Paper receipts are obviously damaging for a number of reasons, including littering (a lot of people just toss them) and unnecessary damage of trees to produce them. I'm pretty sure if you pay via card, sometimes you get digital receipts for stuff (I might be wrong. I don't ever use digital currency as I don't trust it much).

Why can't we have digital receipts for physical money (cash) transactions?

I know they can't automatically send you a receipt via email if it's via cash, but could a system not be implemented to produce a photographic receipt, which the buyer can then photograph with their phone if wanted?

It might take an additional few seconds due to how people aren't always the fastest, but it wouldn't be a requirement. Like current receipts, you would get asked if you want it, and if you don't then the process isn't required. The difference is that if you DO want a receipt (or if they print a receipt even if you don't, as some printers actually do that even if you say no), it wouldn't cause removal of trees for it, and since most companies [that have physical shops] print receipts, this would be a great difference if people chose to participate.

I just wanna ask WHY this doesn't exist.

Are there downsides?

HYPOTHETICAL soul transfer ☎️

Okay, so this might be a strange question but I want to emphasise it is ENTIRELY theoretical. ☎️

If anyone has ever watched the movie 9, you'll remember how the puppets in the film are alive because of their creator giving them his soul, making them technically he him but just with different new personalities and memories.

Theoretically, would it be possible to build a soul-transfer machine to propel one's own mind into an animation software such as SFM or Blender and share their soul with an asset inside the software (AND keep the memories and consciousness).

If so, HOW could this be done?

Reminder, this is entirely theoretical. ☎️

Harassment from sister

So, my girlfriend is constantly getting harassed by family, and it's happening even more while they're currently on holiday in Poland. her sister does things like knocking over their luggage then ordering my girlfriend to pick them up, criticising her for biting her nails in nervousness, and taking photographs behind my girlfriend's back in order to share to her friends to laugh about her, and she also constantly ridicules her for being upset and often claims that mental health isn't a thing in order to make her feel worse. It might not seem like a big deal as a one off situation, but it happens DAILY, and this is really damaging her mental health. She's attempted overdose twice (was successful once and was temporarily hospitalised) because of things like this.

I don't really know how to assist her. Her parents aren't really the nicest and they often refuse to really do anything, but we obviously don't want to become violent as violence is very rarely the answer to non-violent actions.

Is GLaDOS actually alive?

In the Portal universe, is GLaDOS actually sentient or simply 'replicating sentience'. She has character development like an ordinary human, but one could argue that's simply because of how super advanced AIs might be able to replicate personality and replicate pain and replicate actually being able to grow and live. Is she actually sentient, or does she just pretend to be like all robots in OUR universe do?

When is the gore?

So, me and my girlfriend are about to watch the film in cinemas (it's surprisingly still on in this cinema next to where we live). However, she's REALLY sensitive to gore.

At what moments is there gore? Is it ONLY where Clark gets eaten?

If there are other parts, what happens just before that (I'm not gonna try to remember time stamps cause it's disrespectful to be on your phone in cinema but I'll try to remember the events)?

Thank you so much.

How would I edit my SFM to look like this?

I know this would probably be mostly post-processing things, but I'd really like to try to create animations with this art style from SFM, so does anyone know how I could?

Reddit, the movie? What would it be like?

What would a Reddit movie look like?

We had A Minecraft Movie. We've had Discord The Movie. We had the Facebook movie. We had The Roblox Movie. We've had (or are having) the Burger King video game. We've had the Youtuber mobile simulator game. We've also had a Chess movie (though it wasn't lore accurate).

But we've never had a Reddit movie. What would that look like?

He is everywhere

So, I've begun to notice a pattern throughout games and media, and it is this: the G-man exists everywhere. Not just in the Half-Life universe, but in far far more universes in far far more forms.

Though one could argue this to be related to the global interest in the Men in Black conspiracy, I find it interesting that these typical "G-man sightings" consist of characters not just in suits but with the same properties.

For the G-man himself, [visibly] he is a man who wears a suit. However, hidden behind the guise of his professional (but human) clothing, he wields powers no ordinary man can possess. He can teleport/step through reality, he can time travel, he has the ability to use telekenisis and move objects with his mind, and he can even control technology (in the chapter where you have the airboat, he can be seen on one of the breen-monitors temporarily, and when you return to City 17 apartments during the uprising you can see him on a TV screen).

A second game where the G-man seems to return but under a different name is in Little Nightmares 2 where he's labelled "The Thin Man". In this game, he reappears in a suit (though this time he carries a hat), and the suit isn't all that comes with him. Again, the character can teleport, some argue the idea of time travel, he can lift things with his mind (such as picking up the main character when not being close enough to physically reach him) and he also has massive power over technology, being able to step through TVs and even pull others through with him.

A third game/group of games that he returns is in the Slenderman games, though his powers aren't exactly the same throughout the games. Most times, he's depicted wearing a suit, but his powers are much more muddled. Some depictions, he is only able to attack you physically with his tendrils, but in other depictions he can perform telekenisis, affect electricity, and even move between realities.

It's not only games that he appears within though. Another example is the character of Inspector Goole from J.B. Priestley's "An Inspector Calls" (but most specifically the 2015 version). In this, he wears a suit obviously, though he (like the LN version) wears a hat. Though this character is a lot more confusing due to seeming more human than the rest, it's still implied in this version that he is more than a simple inspector.

  1. He lies about being a part of the police force in order to gain moderate respect from the Birlings in order to create influence.

  2. He has some ability to time travel/see the future, or he's VERY good at guessing (for example, he briefly mentions that he often has effect on the younger ones, and they turn out to be the ones who actually feel guilty while the adults turn back to their old ways, and he also knows the Eva Smith will die even though she seemingly hadn't yet perished until AFTER most the events of the film. He also seems to know about the upcoming World War when he mentions "if man will not learn it's lesson, then it will be taught it in fire and blood and anguish").

  3. His name. Ghoul (which is a homophone for "Goole") refers to a demon-like being that both appears human but is evil and often associated with the consumption of human flesh.

There are far more examples, such as with Shepherds' dad in Lost who appears wearing a blue suit at random intervals on the island in Lost who teleports. This one is definitely not a coincidence though because it is confirmed this was a reference to the actual G-man.

I want to ask, how many other locations does the G-man appear at?

He doesn't necessarily have to be an evil figure, as I wouldn't necessarily argue the G-man is evil (but that's simply my own interpretation).

An example of a character who could be more morally good but have similar traits is the Doctor in Doctor Who, who can shape shift (though not necessarily at will), teleport (though with the help of technology) and time travel/step between realities (again with technology). He also can control technology, but that is again with his own inventions. Maybe he's a younger G-man before he manifested his powers independently?

What other examples can you find of the G-man existing throughout media? I'm curious how far this rabbit hole goes.
