How come every Steam Curator review is so awful?

Half of all curator reviews on Steam are either just insufferable racists complaining about the existence of trans people or that they were allowed to make someone with dark skin in a video game, and the other half are just spam that give the same 1-word reviews on every single game on the platform.

Trying to find an actual informative curator review about a anything feels nearly impossible, since even when they aren't one of those two things it's usually a review loaded with opinions the reviewer already had about something else before they even played the game. There's no end in sight.

Is there anywhere I can go to get actually GOOD and INFORMATIVE reviews consistently on the internet?

Do I have to pick up turrets between floors?

Currently trying to do a Tinkerer run, and I noticed the Gyrocopter follows you between floors.
Do the dummybots, spellbots, and arrowbots also do this, or do I need to manually undeploy them and pick them up before traversing to the next level?

Do Addon Mods actually exist?

Been browsing the mod index and stumbled across my personal favorite mod in terms of fitting the lore best, Substance Abuse, and saw that there was a guide on how to mod in your own alcohols.

I excitedly browsed around to see if anyone had made alcohols for their own factions, like Diable Avionics or HMI, but... nothing.

No one's made anything.

Now, I'm realizing I've *never* seen an addon mod on the index.

No other-faction Wanzers, no Nexerelin tweaks, no fanmade ships for someone else faction - though I did find 3 extra mods for the Console Commands mod - that was it.

What's up with that?

Are there any out there I've missed?

Is it time I pick up my IDE and be the change I wanna see?

[Looking for Mod] Cheap piloting controls!

I'm currently looking for any and everything to make piloting better!

Been playing this game for years and only recently turned off cursor-aim for my ship, but it's not enough!

Is there anything that just makes Up-down-left-right align with the screen itself instead of my ship?

I wanna graduate from bumbling around the battlefield trying to find which direction I'm facing!

I'll also gladly take a good look at any other piloting-adjusting mods anyone recommends. Part of this is just curiosity to see what the community has made.

Rems candle should go out when disarmed.

Was watching a video about Mo and Krill and thought how fitting it is that their disarm is a sand swipe, which would either blind you or jam your gun, but I also thought it'd be neat if Rem's candle was snuffed out whenever disarmed.
Plenty of other characters could probably do something similar- like Dynamo's gun going dark or the tubes on Paradox's gun going dark.

What makes a player "Good" at this game?

Long time player here, finally getting back into the game and realizing I'm not cut out for it like I used to be.

Before the phase nerf I used to pilot a Harbinger with 3 mining blasters, taking out ships on the edges of fleets and priority targets so that my own fleet could roll in and win despite being initially outnumbered.
It was fun, it was a solid, working strategy, and more importantly it was something I had chosen to do as a player that the AI would not.

Nowadays I can't seem to get a leg up on this game.
My fleets are put together with whatever I think sounds good on paper; Lots of carriers, maybe some tanky ships for defense, a phase here or there for flanking, etc. It never works. I try to be smarter and build against my enemies (anti-shield for high-tech, anti-armor for low-tech) but it still amounts to nothing.
Every fight I get into seems to be a test of who has the bigger fleet.

What can I do as a player to win at this? I'm willing to learn how to pilot better, but no ship has stood out to me, and I feel as though I'd be better off letting autopilot do the work.

I don't think this is any fault of the game, I may just be used to games like Stellaris and Underrail where the winning factor in the players fights is how much they've been able to fill out their desired 'build'. Starsector seems to be demanding a balanced fleet like an actually smart military simulator and I can't keep up, especially when the AI has it nailed down to a T before me.

What do YOU do with unlikable pawns?

As long as I've played this game I've always been very pick-and-choose, so over the years I've tried multiple different methods to decide how and what to do with them when they just aren't a good fit for my colonies.
I've arrested and let them escape originally, then gave them guilty executions after unfair trials with ideology, and nowadays I send them to VOE Outposts (though I'm back on the market since my Odyssey run doesn't use outposts)
My problem has gotten worse as the game has forced more and more pawns on me recently.

What do YOU do with pawns that just don't fit in?

No reason, just want to pretty it up, you know?
If the handsome members of this subreddit would all be so kind as to give me some recommendations?

ALSO, if you have any fucked up menu-horror going on, please share! I wanna see just how bad it can get.
Hit me with your best shot.

Any time in the past however-many years I've made or seen a new post it gets downvoted right out of the gate, usually only to 0 or -1, no matter the subreddit, and it happens within seconds of the post existing.
Past that point it seems to be normal voting but CONSISTENTLY the first two votes on any post, mine or other are always downvotes and they seem to come before any other interaction.
Is this an automated thing to cancel out self-upvotes or botted? Something else?
