Is this a good computer??

Is this a good computer??

Sorry if this isn’t allowed but I don’t really know where else to ask this lol. I’m planning on getting a tower soon but I don’t know a lot about computers, I’ve had a gaming laptop for a few years but it’s not very good at running games. I’ve looked at a lot of towers today but this is the only one that my brother says would be worth its price but he doesn’t know much about computers, just the basics. Does anyone else have this tower and is it any good?? Any suggestions are appreciated!! Thank you!

1842 German Bible (Illinois USA)

Hey. I got this Bible today and was curious if I should be worried about the green on the pages? I know this is a commonly asked question and it’s probably annoying at this point but during my “research” I found that green dyes were commonly toxic when the book was made. Should I be wearing gloves when handling it or am I just being paranoid??

German Bible 1842

Picked this Bible up from an antique store for a pretty good price today. It says 1842 but I’m not sure if that’s how old it is although there are a couple of dates in the book ranging from 1845-1881. The Owners name was Nicolaus Roth. I wish I could find anything about the original owner but that seems like a long shot lol.

Also strangely enough, the first page has his name spelled wrong and it’s written in French?

Thought I found an amazing deal!

Look at her! She’s a pretty doll, only $38? That’s what I thought too until I realized her shipping was $93!!! Idk if this is allowed but is there a reason why most eBay dolls almost always have $50+ shipping??

What does my handwriting say about me?

Sorry about the pen change lol the red wouldn’t stop drying up. This is just my normal handwriting, I didn’t take my time so it’s kinda sloppy lolol.

Is this a real amethyst or just glass?

Hey there! I’ve had this “amethyst” for about 2 months now and I’ve been really curious about it. I got it in a bucket that was full of buttons at an antique store. I’m about 99% sure it’s glass but my mom seems to think it’s real for some reason lol. It’s pretty big which is why I think it’s fake. I’ve honestly thought about putting it into a ring even if it is just glass, there is just something about it that’s so pretty to me. Thank you for any help!!

Is it worth repairing?

I got this AM 370 in a lot a few months ago and I want to repair her arm and her knees. I am not sure if I will have to replace her entire arm because the leather on her elbow joint has completely torn where the screw would lock in. As for her knees, is there any way to repair these or do I just have to be very careful and not move her too often? Any other suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!!

Help identify doll!

I saw this doll on FB and I can’t find out who made her! The seller sent a pic of her mark but it wasn’t very clear (last pic). I feel like she is German made maybe 1910s?? I haven’t seen many bodies with this kind of jointing so I’m unsure if it is original to her. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I plan on buying her but I just want to be sure she’s not a repro (99% sure she’s not but still lol).

Tintype of a gentleman

I’m not sure how old this is but I found it at an antique store for $1 and I had to have it! I don’t know much about men’s fashion during the Victorian era but I get an 1890s feeling from this. (Sorry about the bad quality my camera protecter cracked lol)

Scored at an antique store!

I bought a box of antique dolls from an antique store a couple of months ago and one of the older women who works there told me she used to repair antique dolls and she had a bunch of the stuff in her garage that’s just been sitting there for 15-20 years. The week after I bought the dolls she just kept telling me all about how much she has in storage and that she keeps forgetting to grab them for me. This is what she brought me today! 99% of it is eyes but she said she has several more of these just full of other doll stuff. Wigs, clothes, arms, legs, molds etc. I offered to pay for it but she wouldn’t let me, she said her kids don’t want it, her grandkids don’t want it, so I might as well have it.

▲ 1 r/Lamps

Is there any way that I can get a replacement fixture for this lamp? If you couldn’t tell, there is a bulb at the top of the lamp and a second one in the base of the lamp and I was just curious if they still make these?? If they do, where can I get a replacement?

My best find of the year!

I’m freaking out! I can’t believe she’s mine! I’ve never seen a doll this large in person! I just got her from marketplace for $45! I’m not sure if that’s normal or not but I had to have her! Her body isn’t original but it is still 60 years old!

She has such a sweet expression on her face, it makes me want to melt! I’m not sure when her wig was made but it had an old looking tag on it and her head is stuffed full of really old newspapers. She came wearing a gorgeous gown, I think it’s a christening gown. She also came with these gorgeously detailed shoes!

I’m not sure who made her but she reminds me of my Kestner. The only changes that will be made are her teeth, maybe a new wig, and I have to glue the tip of her pinky back on. Her teeth seem to be made from plastic with felt fabric behind them to keep them in place. I also need to figure out how to fix her eyelashes. I’d love to see your larger dolls in the comments!

These are my buttons so far! I’ve only been collecting for about a month now. Some are actually buckles and pins but oh well lolol. I have them organized in this order : pic 2 is shell (MOP abalone etc) pic 3 is just miscellaneous (scarf clips and other odds and ends) pic 4 top row is large metal, middle row is buckles and bottom row is plastic. Last pic top row is small metal, middle row is embellished metal, and bottom row is glass (also clear plastic). I’m not sure if any of these are worth anything but I just love the way they look! Most of them will be used on clothing but some are just too special. Lolol.
