Not knowing anyone who can walk away from their life for a month may be preventing me from placement on transplant list.

I have PKD. been doing dialysis since the end of 2022. Earlier this year I went through the testing phase at Mayo Clinic in Florida, my application has been placed on hold because the person who had volunteered to be my caretaker had to back out because of some family issues.

Going for an initial visit at UAB tomorrow. I was going over the paperwork they sent me and noticed they also require someone to be with me post-transplant for 4-6 weeks. I don't know a single person who has the ability to just walk away from their life and responsibilities for an entire month.

feeling really frustrated at the moment that something beyond my control is potentially going to prevent me from getting put on a transplant list.

Just had a kid playing that Swerve game with our pick carts.

You know that fucking stupid game you see in videos where they're on bikes and e-bikes and ride straight at cars the swerve off at the last second. Just had a kid doing that bullshit with pick carts.

Started with me at the front of the store, thought he may have lost control of the shopping cart so I didn't think anything of it. Then I saw him do it to 3 more picks carts as I was doing my picks.

had the absolute BEST interaction with a customer on my last run of the day!

had about 10 minutes left in my shift with about 20 items to go, was getting my last pick on the GM side of the store. This guy crossed my path, stopped me to ask for help with something. However, he looked at my pick cart held his hand out in a stopping motion and said, "Oh you're busy right now, I'll go find someone else to help me." then walked off. Before I could stop him to ask what he needed help with he turned a corner and was gone.

I've never felt so blessed.

I swear to God people are just making up words for me to search...

Had a guy step in front of me during a pick walk, mumble something at me, had to have him repeat himself like 3 times before I could make out what he was saying. Didn't know what the item was that he was looking for, so I asked him what it was used for. Dude just kept repeating the thing he was looking for. Something called a "fry slat". Thought maybe he meant a Fly Swat, but nope he kept saying Fry Slat.

Me@walmart wasn't showing me anything he wanted, he kept just saying Fry Slat. I eventually told him I can't find what he's looking for. Wasted like 7 minutes of my time during a pick walk.

I even tried hitting up Google once the guy walked off, even Google couldn't tell me what a Fry Slat is.

Has anyone ever heard of this thing?

Anyone else's Pixel device doing this?

Everytime I go into a pick walk this pops up on the screen. Confused because why would a Galaxy Setup guide be popping up on a Pixel?

Really hate when I'm prepping carts when it's slow to kill time and someone else decides to "help"

You're only making it so we'll have to go do something else now. Go find your own thing to kill time till the next drop!!

swapping out the wheels on the carts has started at my store. honestly it's not as bad as I was expecting.

I was expecting to have to putt the carts from the front end where the little stepladders hang, but being able to pull the carts using the handles make it feel more like you're pulling an L-Cart.

first few picks walks felt weird, but that went away the more I used the altered carts.

pixel 10: why are all of my biometric logins gone?

Using my phone today every single app I have set up to log in using fingerprints has had the biometric feature turned off.

Why!?

Anyone else remember collecting Pink receipts for a fundraiser?

for maybe a month or two the receipts from the grocery stores in the area would be printed out on pink paper. You'd take them in to school and the class block with the highest total at the end of the event would get a pizza party. I don't know how it benefited the charity it was for.

I'm curious if this was just something we did in Florida or if it was a nationwide thing?

Are there stores that sell Ammo through ODP!?

We ran out of fragile stickers, and these ammo stickers were on all the carts today. In all the years I've been doing ODP I have never once seen ammo picked for an order. Was just wondering if there were stores that moved ammo through ODP, if not why do these stickers even exist?

currently grinding my gears: the camera not functioning in the mywalmart app when other apps are open

I get pissed off every time I get stopped for a price check because I know I'm going to have to close gif then open and close mywalmart 3 times before the fucking camera will actually function on this piece of shit pixel 9a.

every. single. time. without fail. the camera will never work until all apps are closed, and mywalmart gets opened and closed 3 times.

sleeping in car overnight?

just came home from work and the power is out due to a tree taking it the power lines down the road from us. no eta on when power will be back. overnight temps are expected to be mid to high 70s and humid. I was thinking of tossing a sleeping bag in the car and sleeping in the car just for the ac.

it wouldn't hurt the car to do this for one night would it?

Update: got into the car about 2 hours ago. Initially I tried laying back seats down but my body weight caused the plywood cover in the very back to sink down. Put the seats back up and just climbed into the back seat. Haven't been able to get my legs into a comfy position. Might try getting in the front passenger seat and laying that back. Really don't want to go back into the house, it's too warm and stale in my bedroom for my liking.

Honestly should have probably just packed a bag and got a motel room for the night. Work is going to suck tomorrow.

Working key dates should earn you 2x PPTO/PTO.

we get double pointed if we call out on these dates, it's only fair that those who get scheduled on key dates earn 2x the PPTO and PTO for that day.

What is the difference between these two?

They're literally the same strength, same weight, same price but different upcs. AND they're stocked side by side on the same shelf section. I had to dig like 4 items back before I found the correct UPC.

It's almost time for your break? Here's a 100piece pick walk loser!

Every single day I get tiny sub 25 piece walks up until it's time for a break, lunch or time to leave. Then the system drops a 100+ piece pick walk

Why!?

Stupid question: if the cart limit for oversized is 9 cases of water, what assign me to get 12 cases of water?

Just had an oversized run of 1 order for 12 cases of water. I grab 12 totes and go to the water aisle. I scan the water and it gives me a message saying I can only pick 9 cases of water.

Why the hell even give me 12 if you're only going to allow me to pick 9??

Getting real sick of this 6 tote low quantity crap!

Haven't had a single run over 30 items all God damn day long. It wouldn't be so bad if the stuff was close, but its grabbing 2 or 3 items from each department.

Love when my pick walk comes to a screeching halt...

been stuck behind this old couple who can't figure out which fake sugar they want. Offered to help and they basically told me to fuck off. I've been here waiting for literally 6 minutes now!

Really wish we had the skip item button back for bullshit like this.
