Is this a normal amount of grease for a exhaust fan

The customer claims it was cleaned 3 months ago. Didn't really feel like that to me but I am new to kitchens

Engineered air low velocity problems

Hey I have an engineered air with an M-trac down because of low air velocity.

Dampers open, filters and evaporator are clean. The belt was changed recently. Adjusted the blower pulley to increase air flow and I got the pressure differential and the burner plate up to 0.40"w.c.

It is still tripping on low air velocity. Does anyone know where to hook my meter up to on the board to see what it is reading.

Waiting for tech support at the moment to call me back.

2017 error codes

Hey having a problem with 2017 gmc 1500 with a 5.3 going in limp mode.

Currently having the three error codes pop up.

My question is do the air shutters having a problem lead to my p2101 error code or do I have more problems.

First had the u1501 error code and it was running well for 2 weeks and then recently started going into limp mode.

R134a cooler not hitting temp after repair

I have a r134a cooler not hitting temp after fixing the txv. The current temp is sitting at 42 degrees and it just stays there. The compressor is freezing up but I think that's due to it not cycling off.

2 weeks ago I replaced the txv due to it being completely plugged. Now for some reason it is not hitting temp and I have no reason why.

Currently have 4.9 degrees of sub cooling. only like a degree of temp drop on the way to the txv.

I have 6.4 degrees of superheat. Yet again no big temperature change on the way back to the compressor.

I need to calibrate my temp clamps so checking sc and sh the old fashion way.

Well that was an easy 3 hours of overtime

Had a company complaint that their duct work was leaking water.

The only thing is they were an hour away in the neighboring town. Drove there and found the wrong size filters in there and they haven't been changed since November 2023.

The customer did have the right sized filters for their big unit. Put them in and checked the fan. Told them to put it on fan mode and turn on the ac in the morning.

Need to schedule a proper maintenance and get the correct sized filters for the units serving the back of the store.

What type of fitting is this

Had a customer buy a refrigerated sea can and now I am stuck working on it.

Is it a maxicore or some special fitting.

Getting rid of pigeons

So this was pressure washed and cleaned a week ago.

They want me to replace this swamp cooler but I am not till the pigeon problem is taken care of.

This serves as a make up air for a restaurant and right now the water is off to it, but once I turn it on the pigeon will love that water.

Any idea on how to pigeon proof this?

Deep fried condenser

Tomorrow I am going to be cleaning a condenser on a reach in freezer.

The problem is beside it is a deep fryer and right across it is the grill. So it's plugged up with grease.

Any suggestions besides some coil cleaner and nitrogen?

Need to replace the bearings

Need to quote replacement on replacing the bearings on this exhaust fan.

Anyone have any tips for replacing the 2nd bearing that's in there 16" on the shaft. My only plan is a touch ratchet straps and a lot of swearing.

Venting about a customer

So I live in a city of about 20,000 in Canada and bought a 1 man shop last year.

I am currently super busy with my customers in town refrigeration not working. I have been working late and weekends trying to keep all my customers happy. I am currently booked up for 75% of next week so I have some time to diagnose problems that come up.

Today I had a customer call me telling me their cooler was not working. The problem is they are in the neighboring town over an hour a way. Last time I was there I fit them in and their system was low. I topped them up but couldn't definitively find the leak, (was getting hits at the evaporator). Added some leak stop and told them let's schedule a pressure test and leak search to find the leak, if not the system will go down when I am rather busy. They said no the 3 times I tried to book with them, and they said the times wouldn't work; so I gave up.

Today they called while I was running emergency calls wanting me to fix there leaky system. I told them I am already booked up and the earliest I can get their is August 5th. They did not like that answer and kept telling me to fit them in next week and I told them no, I am already booked booked up. Then he kept on saying I need to book them in for next week because this is an emergency and I kept on responding I am already booked up with emergencies.

Then I got mad and told them to call one of the 3 local companies that offers refrigeration in their area.

Red god theory

So I theory about a threat in Red God.

Nero was scared of robots for some reason and there have been several comments about the society not exploring beyond the solar system.

What if the society banned traveling beyond the solar system because of an exo-solar robot army?

And now Quick Silver has just left the system.

What are everyone's thoughts on that.

I hate everything to do with how they wired the controls.

So there is a problem with the outdoor duel(?) transformer. Sometimes it is not sending a power to the contactor to close. Not sure why they did it like that. Not even sure what to ask for at the wholesaler if it is the transformer and not the wire I replaced.

Opinions on the inficon recover machine

Hey had a falling out with the old owner of the company and apparently I did not buy his recovery machine. So I need to buy a new one

Has anyone used this recovery machine before? Personally I haven't used too many of inficons tools.

I just need some opinions since I have to spend a bit of money on this thing.

My other options are the fieldpiece mr45 and the appion g5

Poor temp drop across the coil.

Working a freezer that has a unit with a poor temp drop across the coil. I have cleaned the condenser coil.

Haven't found a temp drop in the liquid line for a restriction

Purchased a Sole Proprietorship and now being sued over the yellow pages

I purchased a sole proprietorship last year and everything was good till the yellow pages called about outstanding money owing.

We had a purchase agreement wrote up buy lawyers. When we were writing up the agreement we were told nothing was on contract, in which i bought the assets of the company.

Then the yellow pages called saying I owed them money. I tried to pay them but since my name was not on the account they wouldn't take my money.

The only real clauses in the purchase agreement I can see is the clause on me buying "Social media on internet," or one saying that I agree to purchase and "material Contracts."
