The root of r/DC_Cinematic and r/SnyderCut deep resentment towards WB, DC fans, James Gunn/Peter Safran, Marvel fans was over these 10 year old movies

I would its the former (BvS) negative reception alone is the root of all the issue

The DCU has an age-ratings issue..

Every DCU show that has come out so far was rated TV-MA, as opposed to the PG-13 Superman and Supergirl. So far, most of the DCU is exclusively for adults (I know kids can still watch adult-rated movies and TV shows, although I think most parents ideally wouldn't want their child to), only made worse by an R-rated Clayface movie coming soon. This isn't even counting The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker S1. It's one thing to do it with anti-heroes and villains, but it causes conflict when it comes to Lanterns. Imagine a kid sees John Stewart in Man of Tomorrow, and loves the character so much that they want to see more of them, only to be led to a mature rated show where people are saying "fuck" every two seconds and having sex with women they met two minutes ago at bars. Or when they see that Peacemaker S2 will follow up threads from Superman, so much so that James Gunn put the movie on streaming early so people could see it, only to be met with an orgy in the first episode. Similarly, Lex Luthor, a character who's on lunchboxes and has countless toys with his likeness, is in Peacemaker talking about prison inmates having sex with each other. I'm not pearl-clutching, but I think so much of the universe is locked off to younger viewers, yet they're heavily connected to the all-ages movies.

I know the same could be said with Marvel putting The Punisher in the newest Spider-Man movie, however, The Punisher series wasn't made with intentions to bring him into a Spider-Man movie the year later. Those Netflix Marvel shows were meant more as an alternative part of the universe; it's not like they were going to show up in the next Avengers movie. Marvel now also has many shows that are all-ages, and the mature-rated ones are heavily outnumbered.

I think a better balance is what I'm looking for, as I don't want the DC universe to be characterized by the excessive gore and pessimistic attitudes that many adult shows and movies display. The DC universe is vibrant and hopeful, which was wonderfully portrayed in Superman, I just wish that wasn't the exception in the DCU.

James Gunn explain how variety of tones and genres in DC can work

u/DoomGuy838 — 3 days ago

R/DC_Cinematic mods and users were never truly fully onboard with James Gunn and DC Studios

That “DC” subreddit was never on board with DC Studios and James Gunn. Many of them are still upset and angry at WB because the studio never rehired Zack Snyder or restore the Snyderverse.

Many of the users there are still unabashed defenders of BvS and still cant process that the Snyderverse was a failure. Many of them were part of the #ReleasetheSnyderCut movement that became #RestoretheSnyderverse

If you love underground hip hop like MF DOOM, Czarface got a new album dropping this month

He’s also a strong supporter of DCU and DC Studios for those wondering

Sanest comment in r/DC_Cinematic

All r/DC_Cinematic does is talk about Spider-Man box office beating Superman and The Batman, bash on Jimmy Olsen show, bash on everything DCU

No talk about Lanterns or MoT for some reason

Just plain miserable posts that gets regurgitated by “new” accounts (alts of already existing users there)

And most of the sane DC fans are have either left or got permabanned

u/DoomGuy838 — 11 days ago

Clayface speaks no lies

Even the users in the comments there are starting to get fed up with the constant doompostings and ragebaiting

Spin the wheel for r/DC_Cinematic for whats the next post or threads they still will talk about

The mods and half the users there need a freaking job or do something with their lives instead of complaining and doomposting 24/7 because this is getting really really sad

u/DoomGuy838 — 15 days ago

Somebody tell r/DC_Cinematic users and mods to get a job. This is so sad man

You dont see Marvel subreddits or other DC subreddits doing this sht but for r/DC_Cinematic and r/SnyderCut, Its like the users are just so fcking angry bitter and straight up complain too much about competition everyday. Every fcking thread over there is complaint ragebaiting and doomposting and the whole losing faith on James Gunn and Peter Safran!

Is that all the users and mods do is complain in the subreddit and delete every sane comment that doesnt allign with them?

Spider-Man just exodiaed BvS in opening weekend 😂😂

Since r/DC_Cinematic and r/SnyderCut love to sht on Superman and The Batman box office so much, here’s Spiderman eclipsing their fcking bible and god’s gift that is BvS

Amazing job to Spider-Man though! Its deserved!!

What does Spider-Man presale numbers have to do with DC

Yeah Im filing this DC subreddit far worse than r/SnyderCut because what the fckery is this?

What if Zack actually had the nerve to tell his fans the truth?

It's kinda clear that Zack is not ever going to stop talking about his DC Stuff especially on Instagram that he is doing it for engagement while also posting these posts. It's given that he is doing this at almost every time DC Studios makes an announcement or anything regarding DC projects.

What if Zack for once admits that the "Snyderverse is not happening. I am not working with DC Studios on any projects. Please support the new ones that are exciting and I'll watch as well. I am working on new films and projects as well"?

What is realistically his fans react like? Will they accept or will they continue to be delusional just like r/DC_Cinematic and r/SnyderCut

DC Studios CEO James Gunn says his favorite MF DOOM album is Madvillany (2004)

There's a high chance DC uses an MF DOOM song before Marvel Studios does for the MCU Doctor Doom

u/DoomGuy838 — 22 days ago

Does he just want to make the same movies over and over again?

  1. He already tried this with BvS and we all know how that ended up

  2. DC Studios have two Batman (DCU and Battinson). Three Batman is not what WB wants

  3. I don't hate the comic (It's my favorite DC Story of all time) but it's been done to death. That's like saying Marvel should keep on retelling The Infinity Gauntlet storyline over and over again

In regards to social media and toxic comments regarding DC Studios, this thread is a reminder from James Gunn last year.

At the end of the day, online toxicity has always been there and the best way to combat is ignoring them. Let the two other DC “subreddits” that many of us were permabanned AND the other side of Twitter eat each other. The internet exists for all sides to have their own opinions, popular or unpopular. At the end of the day, DC Studios just want to make the best projects on films, TV shows, animations, and video games even when there are detractors. This is just my two cents of this whole online culture fanboy war.
