Help me with dj name
Basically i have been playing music since 2016 ,techno, electro , ghetto . It was my hobby and i never viewed it as professional dj or something, so people liked the way i play and music aswell now i need help for the name i was thinking BASSRAW. Any ideas?
I spent 1.5 years building my own MIDI controller (with ZERO hardware experience) so I could perform live techno music. After 13 versions and countless sleepless nights, its finally finished! AMA!
Hi r/DJs,
I'm the creator of Phantom Instruments C45, a fully configurable 4-channel MIDI controller built specifically for live performers (which of course includes DJs!). The mods here (specifically Nonomomomo2) kindly suggested I do an AMA as he believes it could be of some interest and value to r/DJs community, so here we are!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To quickly sum up my story:
I couldn't find a playable MIDI controller that matched the way I wanted to perform live music. So, I decided to build one myself!
With ZERO hardware knowledge, I set off on a 1.5 year long journey to develop C45 (for myself only!) so I could get away from the computer screens and starting performing live techno. After countless versions (13 to be exact), I finally came to the version of C45 that I am now selling internationally from my very own website. I build, test and ship all C45s myself from my home workshop.
For this AMA, I'm here to answer any questions you may about:
* My story, motivations and anything else in between
* The things that went wrong (and there were PLENTY!)
* Designing and building MIDI hardware and software
* Live performance workflows
* Firmware and configuration
* Manufacturing and bringing a hardware product to market
* Why I made the design decisions I did
* My setup, workflow, and experiences performing with it
* Anything else that is of interest!
I'm also happy to answer questions about the business side from prototyping, sourcing components, shipping or anything else you're curious about.
I'm hoping this AMA will be of some value to anyone who is interested in what goes on behind the scenes of a independant MIDI hardware company.
I look forward to answering your questions and hope my answers will be of some value :)
Fire away!
Daryl

What controller is diplo using
Can anyone id the controller diplo is using?
Why do people still defend Crosley Crusiers? I Did Experiement.
So I’ve heard about them since 2015 I believe. I own a technics Sl-3200, 2 orbit turns and a Denon 400 F. I decided to buy this cruiser as my fifth, knowing it was going to be used to test what people have debated. I opened two sealed copies of Carpenters Voice Of The Heart with the original inseam on the back from 1983 (several copies.)
For this experiment I played each of the two new records on two separate turntables for two weeks. One played on the new Crosley cruiser back to back twice a day. I did the same on an orbit uturn, just letting the needle trace back the sound.
2 weeks later I record each record to brand new Type2 Chrome cassettes with HXPRO. I then placed both copies of the record onto the same turntable, a technics, and hit record.
The record played by Crowley 27-28 times sounded flat and gross. My CD evened up sounding better during the recording process. I then played the other record played 27-28 times on my U-turn, it sounded brand spanking new. It wasn’t even a contest and both records were factory sealed.
I knew very well that Crossley cruisers damage records, but I keep hearing so many people defend them because they won’t buy a better turntable even though you can spent another 150 for something more decent. With all the PlayStation’s cigarettes and fast food out there I don’t see why people can’t just do that.
The needle that’s on my crosley turntable is over like four grams. I track my records at 1.92. The tone arm to the Crossley cruiser is not even aligned. It looks like a child put this design together without using any type of measurements.
A turntable is a musical instrument that relies on exact Precision. Crossley turntables are junk that are purchased by suckers that don’t know the difference between the sound quality of a CD and an MP3.
I have a friend of mine that played the 2012 pressing of rumors of Fleetwood Mac on one of these and said he had never so many details. Even though he has the CD that sounds much better. That pressing of rumors is notoriously known for sounding terrible. It’s his first and only turntable so people hear what they wanna hear. People think because it’s a record player. It must sound amazing. How it’s made actually matters.
Thank you
Today I learnt that the tunnel “Pinky, get of the line you bloody idiot” in The Wall is the same one used in The Railway Children!!
reddit.comWhat are we thinking about this transition?
Hello fellow Djs. It's me again on vr Djing.
Just wanted to share this transition that I made. This one took me less than a week to make this time.
I'm very happy with it because I had the opportunity to use the roll effect that I wanted to use for quite a while
Sorry for the head movement. I was very excited that my roll effect matched the beat just like I wanted
Packing thousands of straws together basically creates a low-tech pixel screen.
Help me find the missing part for this amazing stuff
Everything is working but but it seems to be missing the needly to play the cd. What is that part called and where can i get it
Insane Charity Shop Find
Charity shop does mostly furniture, so any dvds/CDs/vinyl are super cheap, for this for £1 and still kinda shaking

Vinyl record display design review (putting the text w times since something went wrong last time)
Hello dear vinyl record/album owners, I may not own any myself, but my friend does and I wanna ask for a opinion about something. My friends 18th birthday is comming up this year and I want to make a bigger gift for them, thats why I decided to buy him a new vinyl record and make a custom wall displsy for it or one other from their collection. Now I myself don't know very much about such records, but I do know that bending and other phisical damage is a big no no, so I came up with this design (I hope this is fine as a post because I don't think this counts as equipment, but I can delete it if there's trouble). the tempered glass supports the disk in its sleeve to prevent bending and making it like that removes many other problems that come from trying to mount a record in a 90 degree angle depending on the width of the album etc. (I really don't want him to damage any of his albums on my creation, so I feel like this is safer and since he's gonna most likely mount the display case above head height it makes the record album nice and visible. I also plan to make art from his favorite games engraved into wood and connected magneticly to the sides of the display so he can customise it. What do you all think? would you like such a gift if anyone gave it to you and if not what would you change? Thanks alot for reading this and for any help.
Looking forward to future collaborations with this artist.
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
This is the first listen of today and im enjoying it so far! I just got this into my collection and I'm not disappointed at all. I also didn't realize I had already heard some of these songs before which is awesome. I'm glad to have this!
Fleetwood Mac. Rumours. Reissue. 2004.
Cataloging the collection I inherited and pulled this gem.
1975 Dark Side Of The Moon reissue. Media is near mint becuase of 1 tiny superficial mark. Sleeve is a very strong vg+. Still has both original posters and stickers in fantastic shape. One of my favorite albums of all time too.
Pink Floyd The Wall
I believe it is a must have and a thing of beauty to listen to on vinyl. Like it was made for it.
