Letting go of machine I put WAY too much effort into

I have a semi great problem.
Basically I currently have a brother kh820 that arrived in terrible condition. I spent a lot of time fixing it up cleaning ever individual needle, sorting out the bad ones putting all 200 back. I changed the sponge bar and took apart the machine to clean it as it was filled with old oil and dirt.
It works now mostly except the punchcards do not advance on their own.
I now have a great offer I am about to jump on I think but am still a bit unsure of.
I could get a working and recently tested brother 940 completely working with a 850 ribber, color changer, and knitleader all for 1,700. AND THE CABLE for the electronics
This is an amazing deal and i really want to jump on it now but I need to put my other machine up for sale
Also I am a college student and so im two months i’m going back to school where they do have knitting machines but only silvereed not the electronic ones and Ik i will still be itching to use the electronic machine.
If anyone has any tips for transporting machines across the country lmk
I really want to buy this machine

Punchcard not turning on its own

Hello, I have a brother kh820.
When i got it it didn’t work i replaced many needles, washed every individual needle to get grease off, opened up the machine and cleaned it and replaced the sponge bar.
basically the punchcard feature works but every time i knit a row it stays on the same row of the punchcard instead of advancing and it only advances if i turn it manually.
I’ve tried cleaning the old grease on the inside.
any tips or suggestions welcome

Parsons, Pratt?

Hi, I am a rising sophmore at parsons majoring in fashion design.
I am “ahead” technique wise but honestly school assignments and making creativity fit into boxes is sometimes hard for me.
I do large fiber installations, make clothes and plenty of other sculpture and other art but I think I want to specialize in knitwear.
I’ve taught myself machine (knitting before being able to take classes at school) and often design clothes with the material being the first consideration or through a materiality lense. I should’ve put this above but I’m considering transferring to pratt because they let undergrads take classes on operated the sheima seiki knitting machines and at parsons only the mfa textile students have access to them. (I could maybe intern for free for one of the mfa students thesis but idk) My other reasons for transferring would be the quieter environment with more green basically and maybe a kinder student population idk
Ik there’s a lot of crossover with the profs and different competitions but any advice is welcome
And something very key I’m very interdisciplinary and from what I know parsons supports that more
Any and all advice welcome
