Asked to tip for a takeout order

Went to Annabelle Pasta Bar this evening to pick up takeout. Total was $84. I gave a $100 bill and the waitress asked if I wanted the change. When I said yes, she then asked how much. I thought tipping for takeout orders wasn’t a thing? Was I wrong to take the entire remaining amount? This has never happened to me I found it very odd.

Bartholomew Bakery

My absolute favorite bakery. I come here quite often since I work nearby, and I usually stop by shortly before closing at 3 p.m. I’ve noticed they often have a lot of pastries left at the end of the day. I’m talking at least one to two racks full.

I can’t help but wonder what they do with it. There’s only so much that the staff can take home. Charitable organization maybe? These types of pastries only last a day or two max. When I worked in the food industry years ago, we were instructed to throw away all left over food.. they wouldn’t even let us take it home.

I can’t help but wonder why they don’t extend their hours of operation. The demand is there and it would help reduce food waste and costs for them. Or at least use the too good to go platform to sell off remaining stock at a lower price.

Just curious! I guess I can ask next time I go.

Parquet Twister issue

I saw that this head was highly recommended in this sub but I find that I have to manually clear all the stuck dog hair 2 to 3 times throughout vacuuming the entire house. Is there a better option for all vinyl and tile floor with lots of shedding dogs?

Oscha disappointment

So glad little zen one offers TBYB! I was dead set on a Oscha but when I tried out their bairn and cairis, I was not impressed at all. The fabric doesn’t feel as nice as artipoppe and there is not a lot of padding and none by baby’s nape and leg area. If I’m paying $300+ for a carrier, I would at least want the logo to be sewn on nicely. It’s the little details! It honestly felt very cheap and I expected better especially at the price point they’re being sold at. I know they get a lot of praise but I just wanted to put my opinion out there!

Canister vacuum learning curve?

I’ve been using a Kenmore intuition which I absolutely love. Glides smoothly along floors, wand attachment easy to detach and attach, easy to reach power and roller brush button and overall I’d say it’s pretty much close to what I expect in a perfect vacuum cleaner.

I was recently given a used Miele C3 complete power line by a family member. Purchased a few years ago. I Replaced with Miele filter, motor filter, bag and allteq floor head. Used it for the first time and I’m not very impressed. First things i noticed:

- difficult to maneuver. Very stiff and doesn’t swivel at all
- floor head drags on floor instead of glides. While the motor Is very quiet, it’s the dragging screechy sound of the floor head that is very loud
- too much suction…? I find it sticks to the ground and carpet , even in the lowest setting. I have to lift it up often and redirect
- pushes debris around instead of immediately sucking it up. I find that I have to lift up the floor piece up and place it directly on top of areas with lots of debris (especially larger things like pieces of leaves, dog kibble etc)
- wand attachment not easily accessible
- not an issue but I just find it annoying to not have the control buttons in reach

Am I doing something wrong or is it just a huge learning curve? We have one low pile carpet and vinyl flooring.

Fit check for Oscha Cairis please!

The shoulder straps dig in to my trapezius muscles causing so much discomfort and strain! Despite baby’s weight, I’ve had better luck with other carriers shoulder straps not being so uncomfortable.

Ordered dinner. Had it assigned to a courier who looked like he was doing a multiple order bundle. Called the restaurant to remind them to add the sauce. They told me that the food has been ready to be picked up for a while now. I checked the app to see if the courier was any where near the restaurant. He was still quite far, the updated delivery time was pushed back and it said that the restaurant needed more time to complete my order. Uber avoiding taking accountability for their poor service couriers by just straight up lying to us. 🤣
