Planning a trip to Kannur (July 10–12) – How’s the weather right now?

Hi everyone,
We’re planning a trip to Kannur from 10th to 12th July. Google Weather shows only light or occasional rain, but we know monsoon forecasts in Kerala can be unpredictable.

Is it raining continuously or just short showers?
Is sightseeing and beach hopping still enjoyable?
Would you recommend visiting, or is the rain affecting travel and outdoor activities?
We’d really appreciate any local updates. Thanks!

Need Advice - Visiting Ooty this weekend ( 20th and 21st June)

I’m extremely impulsive when it comes to travel, and I’ve once again planned a trip at the last minute.

I’m leaving Bangalore tomorrow night for Ooty. I’ll reach Ooty around 5:00 AM on June 20.

Current plan:
Reach Ooty at 5 AM on June 20.
Spend the day exploring Ooty - initial plan was to rent a scooty, but after reading lot of comments, I’ve realized that it’s not that easy to get scooty rentals, so what should I do, any contacts or advice would be really appreciated.
On June 21, I was thinking of taking an early morning bus to Coonoor, doing some sightseeing there, and then returning to Ooty by afternoon toy train. I have booked the tickets, but it’s in WL1 (hopefully it gets confirmed).

A few questions:

  1. what are the absolute must-visit places in Ooty and Coonoor?
  2. If scooter rentals are difficult to get, how much does a car with driver usually cost for a day in Ooty?
  3. Are there buses available very early in the morning (around 5–6 AM) between Ooty and Coonoor?
  4. Any hidden gems, viewpoints, cafés, food spots, or less-crowded places you’d recommend?
  5. Is anyone else visiting Ooty on June 20–21 and interested in sharing a cab/taxi for sightseeing?

Would love any itinerary suggestions, local tips, or mistakes I should avoid during the monsoon season.
Thanks in advance!

Looking for a Law/Policy Collaborator for an International AI Hackathon

Hey everyone,

We’re a team of 3 participating in an international hackathon focused on AI, regulation, and digital policy, and we’re looking for someone from a law or policy background to join us.

Our project involves working with legal/regulatory documents, interpreting policies and compliance-related information, and helping bridge the gap between law and technology.

We already have the technical side covered (AI/ML + engineering), and we’d love to collaborate with someone interested in areas such as:
- Technology law
- International trade law
- AI governance
- Policy research
- Compliance & regulation
- Legal research and analysis

Coding experience isn’t required - we’re mainly looking for someone who enjoys legal reasoning, research, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or DM with a little about your background. Would love to connect with people excited about the intersection of law and AI.

We’re looking for villas in gated or semi-gated communities, away from the IT corridor. Ideally, we’d prefer a peaceful location with greenery and good connectivity. We’re flexible with the timeline and can wait until 2028. Our budget is around 1.2 crore. Considering the current market conditions, is it possible to find a villa within our budget? Open to suggestions, Thank you

Hi everyone,

One of my friend recently got admitted to the MS in Computer Science program at Penn State for Fall 2026 and he’s currently exploring housing options.

I wanted to ask:

  1. Is anyone here also going this fall?

  2. Are there current Penn State students who can share their housing experience?

  3. Does anyone know of group chats, forums, or contacts for incoming MS CS students?

He’s open to off-campus options, and would love recommendations on good areas, pricing, and how to find roommates.

my_qualifications (friends’): Incoming MS in CS student at Penn State (Fall 2026)

Thanks a lot for your help!
