I am not feeling any taste post FESS

Hi everybody, I'd like to know if this is common because I'm a little worried. I had my surgery on 04/30. It was a tonsillectomy, reduction of lingual tonsils, septoplasty, turbinectomy, and FESS surgery. Right now, I am 19 days post-op, and to be honest, everything that I eat tastes like nothing. I have just eaten a burger, which I love, and I couldn't taste it, not even my soda (Traditional Coke). I just felt the bubbles since it is a carbonated drink, but I can't even taste it. I love eating, it is the main way I cope with my anxiety, and I am about to go crazy due to this! If anybody has had any similar experience, please let me know.

Desabafo

Who could I have been?

Hi everyone, I am just venting right now, to be honest. I am kind of sad about only getting diagnosed and medicated at 24 years old, and it makes me really sad to imagine what I could have already achieved if I had received my diagnosis earlier. It is so frustrating to think about all the time I lost, and as someone who compares himself to others a lot, I am really upset about it. Some kind of grief, I don't know how to explain.

The feeling good/happiness fade over time?

So I'm a new diagnosed and I have started taking Vyvanse for only two months, the first one my dose was 30mg and the next one my doctor increased to 50mg. This change was mostly because the effects were fading off too quickly(I took 7am and it ended up at max 1pm), but I still felt a least at the morning that feeling good, making my humour better. When changing to 50mg at first I felt really anxious, and I took a few days to my body get used to it, however that feeling great symptom got in fact even lower than before. Does anyone have anything to share related to it? I would be happy to know.

Hi! Today is 6(my surgery was day 0), 23M, and I feel/see the scrabs coming off a little although the pain is at its peakest, it has been really hard to drink water or even protein shakes, I have also had lingual tonsils reduction so the back part of tongue is still really sore. Well, hope everything goes right, just wanna to share a little about this hard moment .

Hi everyone,

I’m scheduled for surgery on April 30, and I’m starting to feel pretty nervous about it. I’ll be having several ENT procedures done at the same time, including:

Palatine tonsillectomy

Lingual tonsillectomy

Adenoidectomy

Septoplasty

Turbinectomy/turbinoplasty on one side

Endoscopic maxillary sinus surgery

Endoscopic ethmoidectomy

Cauterization of the sphenopalatine artery because of nosebleeds/epistaxis

I know this sub is mostly about tonsillectomy recovery, but since I’m having both regular tonsillectomy and lingual tonsillectomy, I wanted to ask here.

I’m mainly worried about the pain, swallowing, breathing through my nose after the nasal/sinus procedures, bleeding risk, and how intense the first week might be with everything combined.

For anyone who had a tonsillectomy along with other ENT procedures, especially adenoidectomy, lingual tonsillectomy, septoplasty, or sinus surgery: how was your recovery? Was it manageable? What helped the most during the first few days?

I’d really appreciate any advice, reassurance, or honest experiences. I’m trying to prepare mentally and practically, but I’m definitely anxious.
