Question: What wood are these made of?

Question: What wood are these made of?

I have a good offer for one of these, but the red really, really, really isn't my thing.

I would be curious to melt that paint off and give it a whitewash or other kind of stain, or maybe a black stain to make the floral decor the first thing that people see.

In any case, if it's some crap particleboard or weird arrangement, I'd love to know beforehand!

Any tips?

Roosebeck Pakistan Factory Relic (US$8,900)

Someone on a Facebook group mentioned removing most of the bracing on these, so I gave it a try since it was just too shrill to enjoy playing otherwise (and was not that expensive in the first place).

Obviously, not a real luthier.

Do you feel the 1990-2008 peak for the EU won't come back in your lifetime?

Do you feel that that period will end up being the blip, and not the crises and malaise that have followed, which don't seem to ever go away?

Sarangi in Southern California?

Anyone know where I might get my hands on one before deciding to buy or not?

I love the sound, but I've read it's one of the most difficult instruments to play, and I'm also not sure if I should just import a cheap factory one on eBay or spring for a handmade one (if it makes a difference for someone not intending to be more than a hobbyist).

3D print for me?

Would anyone be willing to 3D print two things for me? They are frames roughly the size of wallets.

I have the .stl files and live near Banning, I can drive out wherever to pick up.

How serious is this cracked headstock?

I ordered a student-tier lute for like 500 on eBay.

It arrived with a crack in the headstock (see pics). The seller says it must have been done by USPS. He is offering 100 USD for my pain and suffering.

Do you reckon this is sufficient? I'm not a total stranger to wood glue and the like, but not sure how hopeless this might be with a lute...

It seems like all the demo videos are done with SSS Stratocasters, which show off some beautiful single-coil tones.

What are ideal amp plugins for non-metal-playing humbucker-having guitarists?

I lived in Romania. I left a few possessions there :-(

Would anyone here be traveling to the US soon and could perhaps bring those things in their luggage? Nothing suspicious. Someone I knew when I lived there has them and can hand them off...

I've read a post about the Aria lutes being student tier and unresponsive, but compared to today's crop of similarly-priced Thomann/Roosebeck/whatever MIP (Pakistan) lutes, which is better?

Like, I haven't seen any video or audio of the Aria lutes or other MIJ lutes, much less read any comparisons.

Thanks!
