So I finished the masts and added their blocks. Started working on the bowsprit rigging as well (shrouds).

Important notice: The rigging is where I will deviate from Artesanía Latina’s (AL) instructions. I will not follow their YouTube rigging instructions since they are terrible to follow and sometimes inaccurate. For rigging I follow Thomas Gropp’s “Rigging First Rate Ships” which has already been a tremendous resource and provides tons of high detailed 3D images on HMS Victory’s rigging.

Any other steps regarding woodwork (such as Victory’s sloops) I will follow AL’s instructions since they are pretty decent.

Next steps:

- Rigging the bowsprit
- Rigging the lower shrouds (fore/main/mizzen)

Gun ports will be done after I am done rigging the ship. There are a few ropes and blocks that I need to add, and the bowhead figure still needs to be 3D printed and painted…

A few minor things need to be added:

- the entire bowhead figure (which a friend of mine is going to 3D print in great detail)

- Ropes for the main-stay

- some blocks+rigging

Mijn situatie:
- Ik wil een 20 kWh thuisbatterij plaatsen die 11 kW kan laden/ontladen.

- De batterij kan alleen in het washok komen op de tweede verdieping

- Er ligt momenteel géén 5-aderige krachtstroomkabel naar het washok.

- Wel liggen er twee afzonderlijke 230V-groepen die nu voor de wasmachine en droger zijn gebruikt. Deze machines kunnen op andere groepen worden gezet die op dit moment alleen voor verlichting wordt gebruikt

- Beide buizen zijn 3-aderig 2,5 mm² (zwart, blauw en geel/groen)

- Deze groepen worden volledig buiten gebruik gesteld en uitsluitend gebruikt voor de batterij.

- Er komt een nieuwe, eigen aardlek en een gekoppelde 3-fase automaat speciaal voor de batterij. De bestaande
beveiligingen vervallen dus.

Mijn idee zou zijn om de twee kabels als volgt te gebruiken:

Kabel 1
Zwart = L1
Blauw = N
Geel/groen = PE

Kabel 2
Zwart = L2
Blauw (omgekleurd) = L3
Geel/groen = PE

Technisch gezien kan dit allemaal, maar mijn enige vijand lijkt de NEN 1010 te zijn, hoewel volgens sommigen geen probleem.

Wat is jullie mening?

Het alternatief is om een koof te gebruiken en een dedicated XMVK te leggen, maar hiervoor moet ik een aantal openingen maken in de koof en gaten boren door mijn vloeren, en daar heb ik momenteel niet zoveel zin in als optie A gewoon gangbaar is.

Hi all, for my next major project I am planning to build the Kinkaku-ji. This will be when I finish the HMS Victory for which I regularly post updates on another subreddit.

In the true spirit of the Kinkaku-Ji, I aim to clad the top stories with real gold leaf. I will do some research first on how to do it (I already got some idea).

I eatimate to start this project Q4 2026!

Pictures 2-6: the contents. Very well labeled parts and high quality laser-cut wood

Pictures 7-8: close-up of laser cut wood. Very high quality and straight lines. No wobbly lines!

Picture 9: the wood is cut with sharp tools. You immediately notice the absence of splinters. This is a well made kit!

Pictures 10-14: some pages from the instructions. I cannot read Japanese, but the pictures speak for themselves. Google translate/AI can help figure out the rest.

All in all I think this is a really well made kit and can barely wait to start it!
