I could do this for all eternity. [Captain America 2025 #14]
Zdarsky’s run is just so good and I love it so much. And finally, after literal years, Steve and Skull are finally face to face again and fighting. This is just your classical Captain America story told with a twist that swings wider and I just can’t help but grin and enjoy it
A funny thought
So earlier in BND we saw that the people Jean possesses mimics her actions like when she found the letter to MJ, the guy she possessed also looked like he was holding it, and after watching New Rockstars breakdown, it’s funny to think about what Jean was doing in this moment. Was she just… awkwardly kissing the air when she had MJ kiss Peter? And also it’s crazy to think how that’s probably also her first kiss technically, I doubt Jean has had any relationships in the MCU anyways with what she’s been through
Samara Weavings as MCU Emma Frost Discussion Thread
Yes we are all very excited our queen will be joining the MCU for the first X-Men film, but to avoid clogging the sub with repetitive posts, please keep all discussions regarding the casting to this post, thank you very much!
There’s something about Yana and Emma together that scratches an itch in my brain
I have some thoughts [SPOILERS FOR Zatanna (2026) #4]
First general thoughts. So we finally got some more answers on what exactly the Prime Magus is and I think Campbell continues to do great set up in his books and that’s what this issue was. It was an answer to questions had while also asking more.
With each Prime Magi ushering an age of magic and not just defenders of the realms, then what age of magic is Zatanna going to usher? Hecate was the age of creation, The Upside Down Man was the age of horror, and Zehuti was the age of wisdom. I think the most obvious answer is the age of goodness or something similar.
Zatanna loves the spotlight, but she’s also a hero. As Zehuti says, being the Prime Magus isn’t just being a defender of the realms of magic, but I think it’s also what Zatanna is ushering. An age where magic is a force for good or used as connection as Zatanna is quite literally traveling across the realms on her greatest tour ever.
This was another fantastic issue and I can’t wait for the next one. The spotlight is still burning bright and we eagerly await your next show, Miss Zatara
I was reading through WW again and it just hit me, does Diana speak an actual language when casting spells or can I just not tell by the writing/I don’t recognize the language?
I’m guessing it’s Greek if she is speaking a language since Diana does have roots in Greek
Follow up to my post yesterday. Emma might not pick favorites, but her daughters certainly chose a favorite sister. Who do you think each Cuckoo’s favorite is?
You know she never would, BUUUUUUT if Emma ever had to pick a favorite Cuckoo, who would it be?
Emma shouldn’t be apart of the starting MCU X-Men
I know there have been many rumors regarding Emma and castings for the MCU, but for one, they’re just rumors and the MCU’s X-Men isn’t starting until next year or 2028 which means it’s subject to change, but also it just wouldn’t do her character justice.
Say what you will, but I give Wolverine and the X-Men making Emma a member a pass because the X-Men are established and Emma was shown to already have been a enemy of the X-Men as the White Queen until the events of the show and what we know of the MCU’s X-Men so far is that they’re just about to be established.
Starting with Emma as a member already skips out on important arcs she went through being White Queen of the Hellfire Club and makes Emma just there, especially since Jean and Charles are definitely going to be on it makes her a third telepath which is unnecessary.
I understand we’re all very excited, but Emma should stay a villain at first. Give me a Hellfire Club series focused on Emma and her story and show how she still has a heart and loves children despite her unsavory actions
Emma in X-Men ‘97 S2 premiere was…
Definitely something. Not bad really, just… off imo. Emma in this show is still very much in her Hellfire Club era. I was very excited when I saw she had joined X-Force, but then super not when they revealed she sold them out to X-Factor. I’m not happy about it, but it does feel somewhat in line with something Emma would do back when she was still full blown White Queen, I guess that’s something.
The Cuckoos also basically are just background characters in this premiere and the thought that Emma sold them out to X-Factor hurts because it feels like something they’d have her do with how Emma is in this show.
But aside from the Emma stuff, cause duh, I’m still encouraging you all to watch the show. I get that it’s a little iffy with how Emma is portrayed, but imo, X-Men ‘97 is still a master class in story telling and one of Marvel’s best shows ever. So, even if Emma is kinda butchered or just has this small role, I’m gonna keep watching just because my queen isn’t how I want her to be portrayed cause the story is still great.
And who knows maybe next season or the next episodes Emma has an actual, better, role in the story. The season just started after all
Cyclops Jean Grey accessory
It’s adorable. Like every accessory in the game
Which comic book character would you marry if you could?
Emma Frost. She is my favorite character, of all time. Personality, drive, passion, all checks for me.
Zatanna Zatara. My second favorite character of all time lol. Her style, flash, confidence, presence, it’s just some other things I’d look for in a partner
I wonder what he means by that
Alright this is an image from the new Latveria/Doom themed cafe in London and now I’m wondering what this means.
Obviously this cafe is meant to kind of be like an insight into Doom’s character for Avengers Doomsday, so what does he mean by “Richards was wrong”? Galactus maybe? His experiments? Or are we just overthinking and Doom is just being his usual hater self over Reed. It is interesting though.
But also thank god they included this. I’ve seen way too many people convinced Doom and Reed wouldn’t have a rivalry in Doomsday, but now this little cafe says otherwise, there’s definitely some history between Reed and Doom that hopefully we’ll see explored
Well at least our queen is confirmed for the season
X-Men ‘97 S2 trailer just released and my god did I actually screech at seeing Emma lol. Well she’s probably not gonna play much of an important role, which is disappointing, but at least she’s in it and I’m happy enough since I thought she wouldn’t be here at all
Oh, would you look at that
A free style option to remove the flames and change the Billy clubs. Genuinely the amount of people who complained and said they didn’t listen after they couldn’t add it one week after it released. THESE DEVS LISTEN PEOPLE
We’re gonna get Emma in this at some point, right?
I’m pretty optimistic about Marvel’s Midnight universe, and Midnight X-Men looks really good and I’m glad to have Hickman back to write this and he wrote a pretty damn good Emma during the early days of Krakoa imo.
If the X-Men of Midnight don’t fight for acceptance, I can see the Hellfire Club somehow being the ones working towards that goal of mutants and humans coexisting, which would naturally bring them into conflict with X-Men.
I also really think this could be an awesome chance to bring in more Kitty and Emma. If the X-Men are more morally ambiguous in this, I could see Kitty choosing to go to the Massachusetts Academy and maybe becoming Red Queen of the Hellfire Club.
There’s a lot I’m looking forward to with Midnight, and I really hope Emma is done Justice. Whether she’s full villain or just anti-hero, I can’t wait to see her.
Have we been reading the same thing? [Ultimate Endgame #4 SPOILERS]
I swear people are going way too nuts about Cap dying in Endgame #4. From the moment I saw Cap on page and Vision saying how his mental state has deteriorated since killing Bucky in Ultimates #22 I knew he was a goner.
There’s also Ultimates #12, “Something to die for if need be” and then in Ultimates #22 he kills Bucky, it was obvious to me. And y’all, he still went out fighting all day. Even after his arm is cut off he still went into fight Captain Britain.
There’s also some sudden hate now for Deniz since this release, are we genuinely forgetting Ultimates? Or even over at DC with Absolute Martian Manhunter? That has not slowed down at all and he continues to prove he is an excellent writer with both books. While I was personally a little confused with Ultimates #23 (because of how it was formatted), I definitely saw why people thought the story was great.
Ultimate Endgame is the out liar, and even then it’s enjoyable. It’s not anything like Ultimate Wolverine, where it actually is torture porn. Peter and Steve’s death served an actual purpose to the story, especially Steve’s death. Peter’s death is still debatable, but it was obvious.
I’ve also seen people say “Bold move to kill off characters we’ve grown attached to for two years” guys. I want to remind you this is all ending, if the character dies it should at least serve a role in the story and fit the characters, and that’s how I saw Steve’s death. He fought until his last breath, he died for this cause as he said they will at least try to give people something to die for.
Say all you will, I say Ultimate Endgame is still enjoyable despite its flaws and everything else surrounding it (aka literally just Ultimates) has been great still.
