There are videos going viral from someone in Oakland who is showing how to plug n play solar panels supposedly legal in California- but some say not until 1/1/2027. This could mean that we don’t need to pay $20k to install solar panels.

But is it true?

Anyone know more about this please share.

I am planning to convert my attached 2 car garage to an ADU to rent. I have State Farm insurance for my house. I plan to ask my broker about it. I am kinda nervous as I hadn’t considered the insurance part- given how awful that industry has become.

I am curious to know if anyone else has had experience building rental ADUs especially attached one with State Farm.

I am curious to know about the rental demands in Sacramento - or if there are more demands for certain areas. I am thinking about an investment opportunity. I am seeing a lot of rental properties online making me think the supply is much higher than the demand.

In another forum, I have seen some interest in investing in infra ETFs due to demands for AI and future of commodities shifting to more of electrification themes. So am looking into ELFY and PAVE.

I am wondering if there are other thoughts pros or cons on these ETFs.

My financial advisor recommends investing in a tax-loss harvesting account. This concept is new to me. Wanted to hear thoughts or if you could share experiences. Is it even a good idea especially for someone 8 to 10 years from retirement?

I’d like to hear from Sacramento’ians with rental properties, is it easy to rent? I ask cause I see a lot of rental properties on Zillow/ Redfin. Is the market competitive? Is it worth investing in rental properties?

I am considering converting my 2 car garage to an ADU or JADU for rental income as the cost of living in Bay Area keeps going up. I am curious to learn about experiences, pros and cons, and any recommendations or tips.

I will be financing portion of the build. I will probably need to hire a GC who can do everything from start to finish including pulling permits. The more I read about permit process the more I realize it maybe worth having a professional do it.

My 2 biggest fears are overpaying and GC incompetency as I can’t find much sample work specific to garage conversions in the area- they are mostly remodeling images.

Hi, appreciate ideas. I planto rent out a room in my house preferably master bedroom cause it has a bathroom. But I want to maintain privacy so I want to build a door enter/exit as the room shares side gate wall. This way we don’t see each other.

This would mean tearing down part of the bedroom wall to build a door. I want to know if is worth it??

Hi all, I have a GardePro trail camera E6 model (w/wifi). It suddenly stopped capturing photos and videos.

It captures photos in “test” mode, but won’t detect motions in live mode. The light won’t show.

I have tried resetting, changed SD card, and emailed their support but no response.
