Good first solo trip as 20F?

So I graduate in December and my plans to travel to Puerto Rico with some friends for a grad trip fell through :/ I still really want to take a trip, but I feel like PR as a first time solo traveler isn’t the safest choice. I plan to leave probably January 4-9/10. I’d like to keep my budget around 2k (including airfare and lodging). Considering my budget is this low, staying in the states is probably my best option. I really like outdoor stuff, but I also enjoy the beach. I’m posting to look for advice for a first time solo traveler. Any advice is appreciated, TIA!

Finally getting out after 6 long months

I just got a new job offer as an RBT and I put my two weeks in to my agency. I’ve been a DSP since March, and it’s been a crazy ride. The job has seriously deteriorated my mental health, and it’s finally time for me to move on.

I got so tired of the disrespect and how ungrateful my clients were. I was there to support my clients and encourage independence, but instead I was demanded to do this and didn’t even receive a thank you (these were clients that do not need 24/7 care as well). When I would encourage them to do things independently, I got cussed out and I was just expected to take it (by my supervisors).

The first thing that made me realize that I needed to leave was when my company welcomed back a client that threatened my life. I was told they were not going to provide services for him anymore as he threatened to kill me. This made me realize that they do not care about the well being of their employees.

We use personal vehicles, and oh my god, in these last 6 months I’ve put 5k miles on my car and barely get reimbursed for it. Because of this job, the car I got just last year, is going to go much quicker than it should.

I was encouraged to give out my personal number so I was constantly being texted by clients outside of working hours about the most random crap. I sent out a message to all my clients asking for them to stop messaging me on my off hours, and got an email from my supervisor saying they were offended and that was out of line.

My final breaking point was a couple weeks ago. My client told me straight up that she says sexual things around me because I’m younger than her, and has a power over me, and she can get a reaction out of me.

I’m finally free, and I couldn’t be more ready. I loved parts of this job, but the bad outweighed the good. It was a very rewarding job, but I’m so burnt out.

Trouble reading discs after cleaning them

I finally got my GameCube from my parents after like 12 years. I’ve been fighting since last night to get it to read any discs. I have already cleaned the laser lens. I tried alcohol on a qtip + just a microfiber cloth and paper towel. I also have cleaned the disc multiple times. I tried alcohol, water, and toothpaste. I’m trying to play sunshine and it keeps crashing after the opening scene where he’s getting the water shooter. Please help!!

Autumn ‘26 HRS Graduation Question

I graduate in the fall from HRS. I was told that there was a separate graduation/celebration for HRS the day before the commencement. I’m trying to plan ahead so my family can go ahead and get a hotel in advance so they don’t have to drive back home then come back lol. Can any HRS alum confirm or deny this? TIA

Clients messaging me at random/my days off

So, at my company we give our clients our personal cell phone numbers as we don’t have work phones. I already am not a fan of this as we also use our personal cars to drive clients around. My clients will message or call me on my days off or if I’m with another client. I’m talking it’s like 5pm on a Friday and they’ll message me and ask random things or what our shift is next week. I have tried ignoring the texts but they are persistent. I enjoy my clients, but I want to keep our relationship professional. They want to be my friend, and to me they are just my client (I’m sorry if that’s harsh). I don’t know how to handle this.

My Viet Parents will only eat Viet food on vacation

Every time we go on vacation I dread the food. Throughout the week at home, we eat Viet food for both lunch and dinner. This is fine because we’re at home and it’s home food. But I swear EVERY SINGLE TIME we go on vacation they refuse to try any other food. We’re at the beach right now, and they went 20 minutes out of the way to go to a pho place instead of trying the local food 🫩. After we ate dinner there, they bought like 5 banh mi to go for lunch this week. We’re going to an Asian market later to get food for the week instead of the local supermarket. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Viet food, but when I’m on vacation I love to try local food. The thing is, my parents can eat American food and they enjoy it, but they only ever want Viet food. We also brought my partner with us, they also enjoy Viet food but I can tell they’re sad about missing out on local cuisine. It’s so tiring and also annoying. Thanks for letting me rant lol

Any opinions on online MHA program?

Graduating from OSU this year with a B.S. in Health Sciences on a pre health admin track. I've been doing some research on online schools for MHA and I actually had an info session with an advisor from OU about this program, and it seems really good. I plan to work full-time throughout grad school, and this program is one course every 7 weeks (if I remember correctly). Has anyone been through this program or is currently in it and can tell me their experience? TIA!

Didn’t get football tickets :/

I’m a rising junior (senior standing as I graduate in the fall). I didn’t get tickets and I’m so so upset. I heard that there were many students that didn’t get tickets, which is crazy. I got tickets last year so I guess I’m just a little hurt. Anyone else pretty upset at this?

Curious about housing for orientation

The summer before I started (fall of ‘24) they threw us in Taylor for orientation. Now that it’s gone, I’m genuinely curious where they’re putting students now lol

So burnt out. Clients don’t respect me or are grateful for what I do.

Exactly what the title says. I’ve been a DSP for about 6 months and I’m so tired. I’m only part time but I work 5 days a week and a few of my clients are so ungrateful. All they do is demand, demand, demand. I’ll be doing their dishes or folding their laundry or something and they’ll be like “fill my water bottle” or “come here and get this for me”. They don’t even thank me after and are like “I needed it this way”. With that being said, these two in particular do not need 24/7 assistance, they are very independent and high functioning (I’m so sorry if my wording is wrong or offensive).

My other clients are in chairs and are the sweetest people ever, they are so thankful for everything I do for even if it is simply bringing their mail in. They thank me for everything and understand if I’m preoccupied with something. They don’t demand and don’t treat me like I’m a personal slave.

My company just expects me to bend over backwards and take this. I explain and ask my clients if they can ask and not demand, and they act as if they’re doing nothing wrong. I’m there to support them, not be their personal maid or be treated like a slave.

I love what I do, it is such a rewarding job. Especially considering the fact I grew up with a sibling with a disability, I enjoy my job I just wish my company would defend/help me :/

My company has also already said that once I graduate, they’ll offer me a full time job in the office with better pay. In my city, it’s so hard to land a job post grad so I really want to stick with this company until I at least get my Master’s.

In need of cat sitter 6/1-6/8

Hello!

I will be out of town/away from campus 6/1-6/8.I am looking for someone to watch my two cats that week, as my family already has cats and they don’t want two more to watch lol. They are the sweetest boys and love people. I will get them the morning of 6/8. I am willing to pay, obviously lol, and I also have an automatic feeder, water fountain, and litter box for them. I would prefer an OSU student who is relatively close to campus and has experience caring for cats. Thank you in advance!
