Help me cut this sunscreen in the shower

I use Haru Haru oil cleanser to take my mineral sunscreen off of my face.

What body wash products do you recommend that will actually cut through non-mineral sunscreens on the body?

I can’t with this residual sludge on my thighs after showering…

Cushion foundations… icky?

lol I’m sorry for the childish title, but does anyone else slightly freak out over the idea of cushion foundations?

My brain just tells me it’s a bad idea and that bacteria just parties it up in that compact. The lipstick lesbians put out a video on why this type of formula can’t just be in a squeeze tube or dropper. I’m no expert so alr I guess that makes sense.

DAE not TRULY think for themselves?

I feel like I’m going about life just kind of parroting whatever has been told to me—from my parents, my teachers, siblings, peers—you name it.

I don’t know if it’s just my personality, but I cannot tell if I truly have a strong opinion on something because I came up with it and I believe it, or because someone else just told me to believe it and I went along with it.

I definitely challenge things. My rebuttals or stances end up just being points that I learned from someone else.

I also grew up in a household that conditioned me to not question authority. Free thought wasn’t really encouraged in my household.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Summer haul

(First photo for reference comparing to the size of the MBM F4 and a few other Rhode components)

A quick review:

Bronzer (sunbed): 9/10. I think this formula is really good. Very similar to the pocket blushes in terms of texture and overall pigment. I chose sunbed for summer specifically. I could probably get away with pebble for the winter, but as a pale olive, I was concerned with the rosy undertone and it becoming too light in the coming weeks.

Notes: I don’t think this is the best undertone for my skin. I think if it was just a touch greener, it would work better.

Highlight milk (shade 02): 10/10 (body), 9/10 for face. I’ll start off by comparing to the OG glazing milk. I’m acne-prone, but somehow my skin absolutely loves the formula so this highlight milk was a no-brainer to pick up.

It’s much less thick than the OG milk. It’s got a thinner, but grittier texture (likely due to the mica/shimmer), but nothing too off-putting nor a sensory nightmare. It’s got less “grip,” if that makes sense. It does not emphasize my texture, but I do not struggle with active break outs on my forehead, cheeks or chin. I get hormonal acne around the jawline.

Notes: when the liquid base dries, it can actually create a very opaque strip of metallic shimmer which could easily be applied to the eyes for a pop. It almost reminds me of a liquid eyeshadow. Kind of cool!

I don’t know if I love it alone over the top of sunscreen. It doesn’t give much coverage, but if someone were to apply too much - you might look greasy! I LOVE it for the décolleté and body.

Pocket brush: 7 or 8/10. It’s cute! But for $27, I think you can buy something comparable for a fraction of the price and save some coin. I do like how I’m only using it for rhode - which is kind of my non-makeup makeup application. My MBM F4 is reserved for a full beat. The separation makes my brain happy. It was an impulse buy, but I’m not mad!

It did not apply the bronzer patchy, but I have yet to apply it over foundation. I applied the bronzer to the back of my hand and buffed it into the bristles before going in with the dense side to my hairline and cheekbones. Used the feathery side for a lighter blend after.

Overall, I will absolutely adore using this products for lake/summer days where I’m really just using sunscreen as a base.

New to oner

Hi everyone, I hope this isn’t a low effort post. How do you find Oner holds up to other brands like Lululemon? Are we experiencing the same quality and feel of fabrics?

They don’t need to be 1:1 dupes of nulu, etc. but I am definitely eyeing some pieces and wondering if it’s worth to make the switch.

Are you finding yourself reaching for Oner over other brands in your closet?

Sephora drop

Did anyone order at midnight? 12 am PT, 3 am ET in United States.

It says that everything is OOS for the summer drop, however, the blushes in teacup and candy apple are available for purchase.

Did everything really sell out?

Kristen and Luke

Hot take: I understand Kristen is postpartum and she and Luke’s daughter is about 4 months old at this part in the season. While Luke might be annoying and immature at times, I’m begging Kristen to maybe just acknowledge her behavior and follow up with a simple apology.

Luke gets the brunt of it. He gets the brunt of Kristen’s criticism and social media has a hay day with all of it.

No, I’m not Luke.

Sad about the pop ups

Wishing they did more US locations :(

The way they marketed the summer tour, they made it seem like they were truly picking locations that didn’t get a ton of love to host at.

Rhode Island is pretty popular and has gotten a boost of attention with RHORI. Then Dallas is pretty iconic with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and their partnership with CT.

Closest to me would be the Vancouver pop-up, but that’s a pretty decent travel day by car, plus crossing the northern border

Maybe they’ll announce more!

Major cope

Just awoke from a nap seeing a bunch of things sold out on rhode’s website. I wasn’t necessarily gunning to get anything, and still haven’t checked anything out.

I’m quite relieved?

I saw a TikTok recently about the concept of “mimetic desire,” and I think that this sub would benefit from learning about how this impacts our shopping habits.

Somethings that I kept it mind to deinfluence myself and detach from this drop:

- the lip trio does not suit my skin tone. I’ve seen other posts about colada being similar to OH crème brûlée (which I have and barely reach for due to the color). No matter how good this trio looks on Hailey and other influencers, I cannot convince myself it will good on me.

- the terry bag - a highly-coveted LE item that likely will not be returning. I’ve owned terry cloth items in my past and as someone with sensory issues, I actually hate the texture.

- bronzers - I don’t need another bronzer. I’m also extremely pale 90% of the year, so this would just force me to self tan again to even finish it, or feel pressure to lay out in the sun which isn’t exactly great for my skin.

- highlight milk - concerns that the shimmers will end up accentuating any texture on my skin if I have a break out. It’s not LE, so I may go back once Sephora drops them for added body glow. I love the OG glazing milk so she will do for now.

- towel - I’m not spending $50 for a towel in this economy. So cute, but not worth it for me.

I could go on! I love this brand, but I’m trying to be more mindful of separating needs from wants.

Any plumbing companies hiring?

Tried to take a look through this sub. I didn’t find any recent posts unless they were related to union - title says it all. First year new construction apprentice looking for a new gig! Happy to go to a private shop.

Too much?

Hi all,

I wanted to probe the group with the question about my current workout split.

I’m currently doing Lagree (copycat, this studio calls it SRT on an Xformer) 1-2 times per week, lifting 3-4 days per week, and aiming for 10k steps a day (I usually do 1 full bed rot rest day to keep myself sane).

Is this too much activity per week?

Self tanner reco?

What self tanners have you guys been enjoying? I feel like most of the brands I was using all pulled a little too orangey on me no matter what.

I haven’t self tanned in about 5-10 years - back then, I used Loving Tan, Bondi Sands, St Tropez, and St Moritz.

They’ve come out with newer technology for certain undertones now, right?

Sugarberry 🥹🫐🩵

My sugarberry PLT finally shipped thanks to a very sweet Aussie! This really does smell like blueberry waffles/muffins. I get the waffle scent as the opening note, and a touch of blueberry to close.

Very happy to have snagged this as someone who is US-based!!!

Caffeine reset… is gimmicky

I finally went to my local Sephora today and purchased the caffeine reset mask. Even on recent threads criticizing the brand, one of the most upvoted comments was advocating for the caffeine reset/lip boost drop being worth it - the boost was OOS, so had to hold off.

I tried it tonight and it did… nothing. Nada. Zilch.

I didn’t feel any cooling sensation, no vasoconstriction sensation, or tingling. It just felt like a rich mask which I then washed off. I was hesitant to towel it off, so I went in with my pineapple refresh. I looked the exact same as before I put the mask on.

When I compare it to a product like Faded’s under eye patches - now those really “snatch” and depuff my under eyes. The skin looks visibly tighter after removal, even if it’s temporary.

People have raved about the glow it gives - but I don’t really need glow. I get that from my glazing milk and BB.

This is the one miss of the brand for me. Maybe I didn’t use enough? But $38 is steep if you really need to be generous with how much you’re applying each time.

I’m new to this whole looksmaxxing concept - I’m learning what mogging, ___maxxing, subhuman and all the things are lol

Are people really using this Clavicular guy as a baseline for what men should look like? What about him is the blueprint?

I’m a woman so I’m curious

Hi Rhode friends,

I’m likely going to make a restock purchase here soon. I normally buy all of my stuff from Sephora, and have only bought a phone case directly from the site.

Is there any benefit to buying from Rhode? I’m not someone that’s interested in stickers or limited time freebies like that.
