BlueLine One — DIY Bluetooth OBD gauge/CAN Bus display project for the ND Miata

I’ve been quietly working on something new for the ND Miata community: BlueLine One.

It’s a compact round gauge/display built around a 1.75” AMOLED touchscreen and Bluetooth OBD data. My original plan was just to make a small E85 info display, because I wanted to convert to E85 fuel but once I started building it, the project turned into a full custom gauge system.

The current prototype can show RPM, speed, battery voltage, coolant temp, intake air temp, throttle %, airflow, estimated MPG, and multiple gauge layouts, including a 4-in-1 screen and a chronograph-style watch screen.

The TPMS screen is currently only a placeholder. From what I’ve found so far, TPMS data is not available through standard OBD on the ND2, so that feature does not work at the moment. But I’ll be testing TPMS on my gen4 Mazda 3 soon. More to come.

It currently works with the LELink² BLE OBD-II adapter and the Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.75” round AMOLED display.

My goal is to make this friendly for DIY builders. I’m releasing the Arduino C++ code on GitHub, the 3D model files on MakerWorld, and a full materials list below so others can build their own, test it, remix it, and improve it.

For now, this is still a prototype and early tester project. I’m mainly looking for feedback from other ND owners.

Parts I’m currently using:

LELink² BLE OBD-II adapter

Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.75” AMOLED round touch display

6cm ultra-slim 90-degree USB-C extension cable

M2 x 6mm flat head screws

ASA and/or PETG-CF/PETG-HF filament

I put together a short under 3-minute preview video showing where the project is currently at.

Note. I have to reprint the mount as it’s drooping down, the screws are not holding up on the side. This Texas heat is really taking a beating on this gauge mount. I was going to print in ASA but I would not get the 3D effect pattern. So I might reprint in PETG-CF but I think I need longer screws and the only other screws I have that small are m3x10. I wanted to keep the project cost down by reusing the same m2x6 screws.

Currently I have this connected up USB-C with a USB-A power bank. I’m in the process of adding additional USB ports that would supply at minimum 5v 2a power to the waveshare Amoled device to operate effectively.

But I’d love some feedback: what would you want to see on a small gauge like this in your ND?

Up-and-coming preview of BlueLine One for the ND Miata and beyond.

I put together a quick under 3-minute preview video showing the current progress on BlueLine One, a custom display/gauge setup I’ve been building for the ND Miata.

This originally started as a simple idea to display E85 fuel information, but it has slowly grown into a full motorsport-inspired CAN bus data display using a small 1.75” round AMOLED screen.

The goal is to keep everything clean, readable, and useful without making the screen feel cluttered.
Right now, I’m leaning toward making this a free download / proof-of-concept project, possibly with the Arduino C++ code available on GitHub so anyone can purchase the parts and build it themselves. I’m also trying to figure out how to incorporate OTA firmware updates somehow, but I haven’t fully decided what route I want to take yet.

For early adopters and testers, this will be 100% free. It is still a work in progress, and once BlueLine One is further along, I’ll be working on BlueLine II, which will use a larger display and have more features.

Current features shown in the video include:

* Bluetooth compatibility with LELink² OBD
* 4-in-1 gauge showing RPM shift light, throttle %, intake air temperature, and speed
* Battery voltage
* RPM gauge with shift light and adjustable step/settings
* Speed display with MPH/KPH support
* TPMS screen for PSI/KPA — not functional at the moment, but the screen layout is there
* Coolant temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius
* Intake air temperature
* Throttle position %
* Airflow in g/s
* MPG display
* Chronograph watch mode with start/stop features and a tachymeter-style layout

For the MPG feature, it is currently calculated using vehicle speed and airflow data from the OBD/BLE connection. It is not a direct factory MPG value, so it is more of an estimated live MPG calculation based on the available sensor data. I’m still working on improving the accuracy, especially during idle and stop-and-go traffic.

The chronograph screen was inspired by luxury motorsport watches, with a start/stop function and tachymeter-style design to give the display a more premium automotive feel.

This is still very much a work in progress, but I wanted to share an early preview with the ND community and get some feedback before I continue refining the layouts and features.

I’d love to hear what data you would want to see on a setup like this, what layout makes the most sense, or what you think would be most useful for daily driving, spirited driving, or track use.

E85

I want to switch, but I’m not confident enough to just put it in a stock 2019 ND2 RF GT-S.

I have heard people switching but are not explaining the process or what they are doing other than just adding fuel.

ChatGPT is helping me understand what’s more involved here

* Ecu tune for e85
* flex fuel sensor

For the flex fuel sensor you’ll want a
* Arduino Uno with an LCD display connected to a Can bus obd2 system

So something custom made.

Apparently it is cheaper but uses more fuel so you loose fuel economy.

But the performance gains are pretty minimal.

I’m being charged a non returned fee for a free promotional Xfinity Flex 4k streaming box I never ordered.

I’ve been a customer for over six years with Xfinity. There was a promotional “FREE” Xfinity flex 4k streaming box that was delivered to my home 5 years ago. I never unboxed it, I never set it up, and to be honest I never wanted any equipment from Xfinity rented or not. I instead had BYOD and paid out of pocket for a compatible modem than to deal with “rented” or “free” equipment. Which free equipment apparently is not free.

I’ve since sold my home as of May 19th 2026. I called Xfinity to cancel my services. I waited until closing because I needed the Internet on for the ring cameras and the thermostat since we had moved 1200 miles out of state. I was informed that this free promotional Flex streaming box that I never ordered I’ll be charged a non-returnable fee but didn’t state how much.

I am no longer in possession of the home, and I do not have this box in my possession. In fact, I left it at the Home I sold because this box was free. nowhere did it state that this is rented Comcast Xfinity equipment nor did it ever state that upon cancellation Xfinity, would want this box back? It was promotional back then.

I just got off a call with a representative that cold called me and I was informed that this box would cost me $250 if I don’t return it. A box that Xfinity sent to me for free as a promotional customer.

I am outraged.

Garage grooming station idea

My wife and I were house hunting new builds in new communities. We stopped in one of there model
homes and stepped into the garage to discover this set up. My eyes lit up. I thought this looks so cool and I can see myself using it. Now I’m no professional dog groomer, in fact I’m just now learning this past week to groom my 2 male mini Australian shepherds ages 6 and 7 myself as a new learner and I do want to learn from the professionals and other DIY groomers.

My wife did make it clear that I am not to bathe or groom my boys inside our brand new home…. For reasons and fear of clogging up our new plumbing that we should regularly go and get our boys groomed professionally….

The Garage though is mine… all mine… to do what I please and I love a new DIY project… I’m thinking of building something similar just a bit smaller. I dunno, I really like the idea of having a personal grooming dog station…

What do you guys think. Built it and they will come… or take the Blue pill and stay in wonderland…

how to evaluate a groomer for Australian Shepherds?

Hi everyone,

I’m not a professional groomer, and I did read the subreddit rules for posting but I’m hoping to get some guidance on choosing a groomer for my dogs.

I have two male Mini Australian Shepherds who are biological brothers from the same champion breed sire and dam, born one year apart. For years, we took them to the same neighborhood groomer near our home in Virginia. My wife always thought they looked great after their appointments and we continued to use them, but as I’ve been learning more about double-coated breeds, I’m starting to wonder whether they’ve actually been receiving breed-appropriate grooming all along.

We’ve recently relocated to the Dallas–Fort Worth area in North Texas, and I’m at a crossroads. I’m considering either investing the time to learn proper grooming techniques myself or finding a highly qualified groomer who is experienced with Australian Shepherds and similar double-coated breeds.

My question is: What interview questions should I be asking when evaluating a potential groomer?

Obviously, asking whether they regularly groom Australian Shepherds is a starting point, but I’d like to know what separates a truly knowledgeable breed groomer from someone who simply offers grooming services. Are there specific questions about coat maintenance, de-shedding, undercoat management, trimming practices, handling, drying techniques, or certifications that I should be asking?

Also, is there anything I should be doing before their first groom?

After doing some reading and waiting to post this today, I purchased a couple of grooming tools to start learning about coat maintenance myself. One is an undercoat rake with rotating pins, and the other is a stripping-style rake with rounded hooked teeth. I’ve been using both lightly for a few days to work on some of their loose undercoat as the weather heats up here in North Texas.

One area I’ve struggled with is matting behind the ears and under their collars. In a few cases, the mats were fairly tight, and I ended up carefully cutting them out. I’m not sure if that was the correct approach, so I’d appreciate any advice on handling those areas in the future.

My goal isn’t to shave them or drastically alter their coats. I’d simply like to help remove loose undercoat, reduce shedding, and keep them comfortable through the summer while preserving a healthy double coat.

Is there anything else I should (or should not) be doing before taking them to a professional groomer for the first time?

I’d appreciate any advice on how you would vet a groomer for your own Aussie.

Picture is from the last groomer last August 2025, they have not had a groom since then.

On behalf of my manager, I was wondering if this is a common repair issue. We’re setting up his 3D printer for bring your child to work day to print little houses to give to the kids. I can’t find one that’s easy and fast to print so I’m going to CAD design my own. But he has this Ender 3 V2. I’m a Bambu labs guy so this thing is like wow! What a load of manual labor to get it prepared to print.

First and foremost I had to print a extruder Arm because the OEM one broke apart in tiny pieces. So I found one that looks promising to last a while.

My manager spent time to manually level the print bed. Then we tried to print a Benchy. And the extruder was too close to the print bed.

I tried to increase the Z offset and I went up to +4.00 and no change.

I was playing with the digital dial and going through the settings and YouTube videos on how to set it up for your first print and I discovered that when selecting the Z axis move up and down +10.00 that it will move up, but when turning the dial counter clockwise it does not move the z Axis extruder down. It only goes up.

Now I can turn off the motors and manually move the Z axis by turning the z screw but as soon as I set the home it immediately goes to +10.00

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to digitally move the Z axis down and tune the offset.

So I think something is broken. It might be a malfunctioning limit switch, a binding lead screw, or a loose Z coupler.

I don’t k ow much about this printer and I can’t find much on the issue.

So I wanted to ask the community what you guys thought.
