Hey everyone! It's been a busy week! Bug reports have started to slow down, so I've had a lot of time to invest in needed features and infrastructure to provide a more complete game experience. Huge thanks to everyone that has helped test and report all the bugs over the last few weeks! We've had over 1,000 games played on the site now, which is incredible!

I added a format selector and best of 3 format with sideboarding to help enable testing in a more realistic environment where more games are played post-board than pre. I also added a rematch functionality to be able to jump back into another round more quickly with a regular practice opponent.

I updated the few Proxia cards that got updated this week, and also added infrastructure to import spoiler data, and coded all the spoilers so far. Huge shout out to Shout at Your Decks who were kind enough to share their hand-curated spoiler data with me!!

Where to even begin?

We have had over a massive amount of rain and normally the berm we built in the back of the property is enough to hold the run off into our yard but our back yard to the front is basically a river at this point. It drains very quickly fortunately but is there anything we can do to help when we get rains like this?

Hey everyone! Games played are up, bug reports are down, so lots of time to add new features this week! I spent a lot of time focusing on adding functionality to make Clarent more useful as a competitive testing tool. I added stats tracking to help you refine your deck composition. If you find yourself always reserving the same card, that could be a candidate to consider swapping out for something else! Currently the stats don't save anywhere, but that's something I'll be looking to improve in the future to help track your card usage trends over time.

I also shored up the private game functionality to make the site more useful for competitive testing. I added cryptographic keys both for players, and for spectators of private games (you need the key from one of the players to spectate a private game).

Other features include more progress on missing opportunity windows:

  • New Trigger opportunity window shortcut + On Brew triggers
  • Make it possible to respond to wither triggers

New animations and indicators:

  • Add fracturized animation
  • Added incoming damage indicator to intent cards
  • Added a weapon used for attack indicator

Clarent.net shortcuts + enter opportunity + bug fixes

This is a HUGE update that I know a lot of you have been waiting for! Being able to respond to certain On Enter triggers is absolutely crucial for high level meta testing.

Other headline features include a goldfish mode where you can quickly test against an auto-pass bot opponent, and a spectator mode to watch games!

Besides that we have a few other nice features:

  1. Verdure of Preservation special animation to make it more obvious it preserved a card
  2. Added collapse button to Glimpse popup
  3. Shifting Currents direction indicator
  4. New slider bar UI interaction type

Clarent.net visual overhaul phase 2 + patch notes

Hey everyone! I'm really proud of the highlight feature for this week. Are you tired of playing vs. Diao Chan and looking at a literal field of flowerbuds? Now those tokens all collapse into a single display that expands into a fully interactable hover dropdown! Even if the tokens have mixed states or abilities, you can hover and activate the ability and see the state of all of them!

There's another few features added since last time:

  • Concede button
  • Wake up animation
  • Animated Vigor icon (toggleable)
  • Animated Taunt overlay (toggleable)
  • Attacker label (mirroring the attack target label that existed before)
  • More seamless window zooming

Finally, a huge, huge amount of bug fixes! Thanks everyone that has been continuing to help with testing! This is really coming along with all of our efforts!

Clarent visual overhaul + Bug fixes!

Hey everyone! It's been a busy week of bug fixes, and phase 1 of the visual overhaul for Clarent.net! I updated the main menu and the game screen with a new background. I added a few settings for those that want to customize their experience. I also started adding animations to make game state changes more apparent.

Are recent events putting a strain on your relationships?

At the beginning, my wife and I had so many things in common. When Taylor Swift’s most recent album came out, we both agreed that Fate of Ophelia was the best song on the album. Now that the Opalite music video has been out for a while and called more attention to it, my wife feels the story behind the video makes it the best song on the album. While they’re both amazing songs, I firmly believe that the overall best song should still be based on the initial musical reaction to the song, and not external factors.

I feel like these recent events have really put a strain on our relationship, shaking what I thought was a firm foundation for our relationship. These differences seem irreconcilable, reminding me of the East-West Schism of 1054. Can anyone else relate?

I ran into some difficulties and decided to take a step back and re-design the engine from the ground up based on the lessons I learned from creating Talishar and later Karabast.
