UnderForged is a couch coop roguelike. Inspired by OverCooked and PlateUp! Run your own Dwarvern forge with your friends!

UnderForged is a roguelike couch coop with a demo I am planning on releasing in the upcoming next fest (with online support planned for the full release). You start each day by picking a new contract. Then you fulfil that contract throughout the day. If you succeed you are paid, and can spend that money upgrading your forge. If you fail, you lose!

You can go wide, taking contracts in different raw resources (iron ore, logs of wood, coal, gems etc.), or tall (processing iron into powder, liquid, ingots and eventually swords), or a mix of them both!

Rampallians is a strategy card game I just released with a small but growing community

Rampallians is a strategy card game where you gather resources with gatherer cards, to play special cards (one off effects), support cards (buildings with passives and actives), and unit cards (to defend your settlement and attack theirs). There is minimal RNG, each player can choose from the same set of cards to make their decks, and choose which resources to gather, to play the cards in their hand. Building a settlement to fight your opponent in a 1v1.

There are 4 factions Orcs which are simple fast and aggressive. Humans which build out settlements to slowly improve their cards. Dwarves which are very adaptable and focus on making buildings and runes for the late game. Elves which harass and can do a lot of damage, but cant take too much! As well as some dragon cards that can be in any deck. Each card has their own unique traits and effects, with the best part of 400 cards in total. All available in the full game, no packs, no extra purchases of any kind.

Rampallians is a game that I solo developed over 4 years, but that doesn't do it justice because I had a lot of help from very lovely people. Myself and 3 of my friends came up with the idea and spent a lot of time iterating on it until we got to this stage.

Part of what we wanted to achieve was to make a card game that wasn't pay to win. Which is possibly why we went to such lengths with the number of diverse cards and effects. Any future content will be included for free, no packs or dlc. I'd also like to explore the possibility of user generated content if we were lucky enough to have an audience that was interested. All of the cards and effects are JSON files so can be easily edited (both players have to agree on a set of cards to prevent cheating).

My brother made the music for the game which I think is really nice and fitting, it flows based on what you're doing in the game, be it at the main menu, in game, or in combat. With transitions to go between them.

Finally something I want to be very clear about. I know the use of generative ai is rightly looked down upon. For the artwork my mum and a family friend were kind enough to help me do the art for the cards. But it was taking too long given as I mentioned there are 400 cards, and sadly we don't have the funds to pay a professional. So we came up with a process where the artists sketched the cards, then filled in detail with a local model in the image editing software, before then correcting the output manually. I wonder how people will feel about this hybrid approach, I've made a video explaining in detail here if people are interested:

There is a demo which acts as a sort of free trial, essentially the full game but with a restricted set of cards.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, and really appreciate any feedback!

Procedural Growing Trees: Highly customisable Trees that grow and adapt to seasons and shading! They can grow at run time (expensive, but can grow realistically around shade in your scene), or be baked into static meshes that can be animated between

I did the thing every game dev does and tried to make a massive open world game as my first game... Anyway as you can imagine it was too much, so I decided to at least release part of it. I pulled the trees from the game and made them available as a standalone asset.

You can customise the tree structure including trunk, canopy, roots, branching, when/how/if it grows and whether that is effected by shade of objects in the scene, with many different parameters. And you can then change visual and compute shader parameters for the visual style the tree is rendered in.

It works by using a space colonisation algorithm configured by 50 parameters to define the tree structure. And an addition 24 params to control how the leaves then fit to the wood. Once you're happy with that it is rendered by a marching cubes compute shader which can be further adjusted to adapt the visual style. The resulting mesh then has a shader with features like tessellation+displacement to further customise the appearance to fit the style of other assets.

You can have the trees grow in game, but this gets performance heavy if you have lots, so I've added a baker which creates and stores mesh assets for all the stages of growth to switch between. You can configure them to drop leaves or have them change leaf colour based on the season.

I've never released an asset before so I apologise if I've missed anything, I'll happily implement any reasonable feedback.

I made a video about my experience of using an LLM to build a bot for my card game

I had an algorithm based bot for my card game, but I was struggling to have it cover all the possible edge cases for cards in my game. So I had the idea of bundling an LLM into the game, but rather than using it for the usual chat bot experience, it would be fed the game state, and asked what to do next. Essentially playing against the player.

It was very easy to do, and those on Unity wanting to do the same should check out LLM Unity: https://github.com/undreamai/LLMUnity

But ultimately I decided not to keep it in the game for now, it was too slow and a little unreliable on the smaller models I wanted to use.

I hope you find this interesting, I know it is a bit of a plug for my game at the same time as informal, so sorry if I waste anyone's time!

Rampallians is a card game where you gather resources with gatherers, to play special, support, and unit cards. Building a settlement to fight your opponents in a 1v1. I am curious what the TCG community thinks because it is not strictly a TCG but inspired by them. I wanted all the cards to be available for all players, so there is no pay to win element, just deck building. But does that take some of the fun out of collecting cards? Perhaps I could have special art variants that do not differ in stats?

Anyways here is some details on Rampallians:

There are 4 factions Orcs which are simple fast and aggressive. Humans which build out settlements to slowly improve their cards. Dwarves which are very adaptable and focus on making buildings and runes for the late game. Elves which harass and can do a lot of damage, but cant take too much! I'd love to hear your thoughts, and really appreciate any feedback!

P.s. I'll have a demo in the upcoming next fest. The aim is to have the demo act as a trial of the full game, with two decks (no deck builder like in the full game), but you'll be able to play with players who have the full game when that comes out later in the year.

I am a solo dev who has set up my first steam page. It is for my strategy card game Rampallians.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4363230/Rampallians/

Rampallians is a 1v1 card game where you play cards to gatherer resources, to then play other cards to build your settlement and defeat your opponent. Just adding context in case the steam page isnt clear etc.

Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks a lot for reading and taking the time. Have a good day.
