Beetle Headrest

Probably a weird question but can I swap my headrests for beetle headrests? I just like the open look.

I’ve got questions

Why do some dealers use market based pricing and others do not? Will we eventually see every dealer using market based pricing? Will dealers who don’t use market based die off?

What does it mean to be a #1 volume dealer vs being #1 in sales?

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Is my Ick Warranted? Visited the lot today on our first test drive in our car buying adventure.

I feel like I had a very weird experience and was getting the ick. Genuinely went in to buy the car if we liked it enough. I don’t like wasting time. Looking for professional opinions.
Buying new.

Sales man took 3 tries to find a model without a dead battery. No other buyers on the lot.
We said, “no worries we’re between trims so whichever you find to pull around will be fine.”

Finally pulled one out, started rattling off the prices of the models in the vicinity while we were looking over the car, which were thousands above their online listed price… for each one?

Red flag but we’re on the lot. Ask to take the car for a spin. No problem. salesman takes license but no other contact info. He also didn’t tell us how to get the mirrors folded out and basically ran away as soon as he handed the id back.

Take the car for a ride around the block. Pull in. No salesman around. We walk the keys in. Everyone’s just lounging until the sales man goes, “and that’s my sales manager.” Didn’t ask if we like the car, if we had a trade nothing.

Sales manager turns and goes “so what will it take to get you to buy today?” IDK I haven’t been better educated on the two trims. Me “this is the first car we’ve looked at and we have a captive lease. We need to think about which trim would be best and how to handle the remaining few payments on our least” He starts putting the pressure on aggressively saying, “people don’t come drive cars they don’t want. ”
I get the ick. “I realized I forgot my checkbook I’m embarrassed”. Him “you don’t need money down. Your credit is probably fine. Will you be trading in?”
Mentally I’m like Buddy - I’ve gotta finance but I don’t want an insane payment do you think I’m dumb?? You are just assuming my credit by how I look?? I just told you my lease was captive. No I’m not trading in.

At this point I just wanted out. Respectfully, I replied “i understand I don’t but the interest rate does, as does the remaining payments. We need to think about it.”

Was my ick warranted?

Td;lr
Stopped in to test drive a car. The lot was a ghost town. The salesman was practically a ghost. Which I appreciate the low stress environment but this was like too little involvement until we returned from the test drive. Test drive was lack luster for us but the car made some sense for the right price.
Went to turn the keys in and was immediately pointed in the direction of a high pressure sales manager.

Is it weird they didn’t take any contact info?

The car would be a fine car if we dont find better.

Was my ick warranted?

Whats everyone’s OTD on 2026 SEL or XRT

Husband has finally decided what he wants. Now I’m price shopping. Bonus if you would refer your dealer and they ship nationwide. I’m in the middle of the map and all my 6 Hyundai dealers in a 100 mile radius are owned by the same people. Pricing is not good compared to farther away.

New or the used v6

I’m just curious what everyone has gone OTD on 2026 SE and 2026 se w tech.

Dealer near me has a v6 I like but interest on used cars is wild. Haven’t been to the lot yet but I’m wondering if the 2026s are seeing decent discounts?

What are

Some of the best things you’ve found to organize your Jetta? Particularly the trunk? I haul around extra parts (mostly mudguards and wipers) and liquids. They just roll around in there.

Also ideas for interior organization. I live where it snows and like to keep a blanket incase I’m ever stuck in a snow bank.

Small 3 row

Trying to get a 3 row for as close to 30k as possible. We only need an extra seat a handful of times a year. I’ve narrowed down to these:

New:

2026 Hyundai Santa Fe

Kia Seltos

Used cpo:

2023 or 2024 vw Tiguan

2024+ Hyundai Santa Fe

I can’t convince my spouse into a mini van unfortunately.

Shopping for VW suv

I’m between a used 2024 7 seat Tiguan, occasional extra seating would be nice but not entirely a need. However, it’s common that they burn oil like crazy.

Do taos have the same issues? Has anyone owned a 7 seat Tiguan and traded in for a Taos?

Any insight is appreciated.
