Context: when asked about the new Stems Hack, Alpha Theta said the issue was that the stems were very very poor quality. You be the judge.

With all the new research being done, now adding Stems to CDJ-3000 and now the XDJ-RX3 without voiding your warranty, it's pretty much a good idea to not update whatever new firmware Alpha Theta is about to release, right? I mean if you want to add Stems to your units in the future.
How long before local shops start charging to jailbreak your CDJs adding Stems, Day Mode, Gate Cue and more? How much would you pay for a jailbreak?
Also, what all can be done with a jailbroken CDJ?
2 channels per deck anyone? I wonder if two songs could be routed out of the RCA's and the other out the Digital coaxial output. Hmmm 🤔

Exactly what the title says. Now that we know we can add our own features like stems to CDJ-3000 is anyone willing to tackle adding Key Shift to the CDJ-1500X? Or adding In/Out Loop adjust to the XDJ-AN? Basically any software features that Alpha Theta is gate keeping on their products is free game for us to mod back in ourselves. Furthermore, I bet we can add Stems and Day Mode to both as well. The XDJ-AN is actually pretty snappy once everything is setup correctly so I wonder how similar the architecture is to the CDJs.
IDK why they can't get it together, Apple Music Login and Cloud Library Sync are basically instant and I love it, but Beatport refuses to let you login automatically at all. You have to input your username and password every single time with the touch screen and that is annoying in 2026. I am having this experience on CDJ 3000, XDJ-AN and CDJ 1500X. Why are they like this?!
All jokes aside, this little unit is a beast! I can't wait to pick one up as my third deck! Nothing felt compromised, and all the settings are exactly where you think they would be. My only grip is I haven't figured out how to go to the shortcut settings menu with one press.
Alpha Theta has released a new firmware addressing the cut in width of the crossfader on the XDJ-AN. They are listening. This is very good news for us Alpha Theta customers. I haven't seen this posted to their socials just yet, but this is a great step in the right direction. I haven't had it a week, and they are already addressing my biggest issue with it.
So many of you have joined this subreddit and all you do is hate Alpha Theta. What's the point of this grift? Are you that lonely and pathetic? Why don't you just go and join a subreddit for whatever DJ brand you actually do like, and live let die? Also, many of you are very poor and your self loathing and jealously push you to try to zap the joy others feel in regards to Alpha Theta products, just so it validates a reason to for you stay on this planet just a tad bit longer. The truth is the world would be better if you decided to be a happier and nicer person instead of such a hateful loser.

I'm such an idiot. lol! 😂 I've been treating this lil dude and his brother like they are always set to 4 beat loop. Found out this morning I can treat it like a loop roll and select the beat duration before I activate it. 🤦🏽♂️
I traded my DDJ-GRV6 for a XDJ-AN. So far I'm loving it. This thing is super cute! I need to test out more source options for B2B, but I can confirm a few things.

Are all treated as separate sources, so B2Bs are possible, but not as easy as two USBs.
Controller it's planted and doesn't move when Riddim chopping the volume faders.
Crossfader cut-in is still too long, but good enough.
Sound quality is very good.
No beat effects on mic is just a software update, but sadly an omission here. Mic sounds great though.
Loop Encoder Knob is fun to use, but I'm still deciding if I miss manual in and out adjust.
I don't miss most if not all the buttons that are now in deck settings.
Wish there was some sort of roll. Manual beat jump exists though.
Tmrw I'll be testing with Rekordbox Desktop.

P.S. you will need a wifi connection to use pro dj link with your phone. I have a travel router and I will test with and without an internet connection.
Sad day when Vintage Culture has to fight the sunlight at Tomorrowland, all because Alpha Theta is gatekeeping Light Mode. Also, I'm shocked they aren't using CDJ3000X, maybe he didn't have them on his rider?
Since the CDJ3000X is getting "Light Mode" and ability to update firmware over WiFi, and the CDJ3000 is getting absolutely fawkin nothing(even though it's just as capable). It's pretty much an abandoned product, which means it's ripe for modding. Turns out the 3000s run Linux. I wonder if anyone in the modding community would be willing to take on adding features to the CDJ3000?
Have any of you DJs ever used the DJM-V5 in Nasty AF Brostep/Dubstep/Riddim/Heavy Bass Music set? If so, how did you like it? Do you have a link so we can hear what all were capable of doing with it?
TL:DR WLAN connections to your phone might be the B2B savior for the XDJ-AN.
So I have been reading over the specs page and manual for the XDJ-AN, just trying to understand the decisions Alpha Theta made, and I think there's a lot here that people are not understanding. I also think this is an issue of poor communication by Alpha Theta and their affiliates that got early review units.
So...the real question becomes(and shame on Mojaxx, Phil and Jamie for not trying this), can you connect more than one phone running Rekordbox Mobile app via WLAN at a time? This would certainly solve the "B2B" issue everyone is complaining about, you won't need an internet connection and your phones should show up as sources just like the USBs do. Someone with two phones and two rekordbox accounts should test this theory on one of the following devices as they are listed online as supporting this very same feature:

Is this going to be how mainstage DJs at EDC connect in the future? No. However, I could see this catching on for much smaller house parties and such in the future.
I currently have 2 CDJ 3000's paired with the A9, a DDJ-GRV6 and a DDJ-FLX2. I feel like all my bases are covered, but I would really like a third deck and modern streaming features on my CDJ setup. However, on the other hand a USB-C powered All-In-One like the XDJ-AN would be great for Mountain and camping raves, and if it gets wrecked I'm only out $1200. My heart really wants to just pick up a single used CDJ-3000X, but it's way more expensive than the other two products, and I'd have to wait a bit longer save some more. What do you think?
TL:DR I think Alpha Theta abandoned the CDJ 3000.
Currently CDJ 3000 can't play lossless audio via Beatport streaming, doesn't have SoundCloud or Apple Music support, no phase meter or stacked waveforms in HID mode, no smart cue, gated hotcue(officially), QR code sign in, or support for One Library.
This feels like planned obsolescence, and I doubt we will get another feature rich firmware update. Which sucks because my city is still using them at most venues, and everyone I know who has CDJs haven't upgraded to the X.
