Those who have attended adult inpatient, what was your experience like?

Things are… not great with me right now. I don’t think i will end up in inpatient but i keep worrying that there is a possibility i will. Please could you share your honest experience of inpatient so i could know what it is like?

what is your favourite example of bad CGI in the show?

tagging as spoilers as not sure what else to tag this as, but as a first time watcher the awful cgi/effects are so charming to me. Obviously it is a product of its time and this is not a criticism, i think the show is incredibly well made and adore it, but some of the editing makes me giggle and i want to see what other people’s editing giggles are.

Mine is the >!snake mayor or Anya and Xander in the ice cream truck in the dreams episode!<

lewy bodies timeline

before anyone says anything i know you can’t compare cases but i want to know other people’s experiences. My dad was diagnosed with lewy bodies dementia almost 2 years ago to the day. He was a stage 4/5 when diagnosed and is now a comfortable stage 6. I am suffering from major carer burnout but trying to remind myself to make the most of the time i have left with him.

My question for people who have known those with lbd: how long was it between diagnosis and passing? again, i know i can’t compare and google gives the standard 2-5 years, but i want people to be blatantly honest about the time i have left with him

update and care assessment

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who left comments on this post. I spoke to my gp yesterday and said I wasn’t coping and we have increased my medication and we have booked an advanced care team assessment for my dad for next week.

Does anyone have experience having a care assessment and can give me some insight as to what it will be like?

burnout rant (tw)

it’s happened.. i’ve reached my limit. i (25f) care for my dad (59) who has lewy body dementia and my grandma (86) who also has dementia. i am also a final year university student in the process of working on my final two assignments (my year finishes in september rather than may/june) and i work part time)

i am exhausted. there is nothing i can give up, i can’t pause uni when i am two assignments away from a first class degree. any time anyone tries to look after my dad they spend the whole day messaging me because they can’t understand him and he is only 100% comfortable with me. this is what happens when my sister takes him for the one day a week i work. my carer’s allowance is under review because they are stupid (had to get my mp involved) so i can’t stop working as all my bills are already going through my credit card and have been for months so i am racking up debt.

i was speaking to someone the other day who said sadly the only way out of this is when my dad and grandparents die. obviously i don’t want that but i don’t know how i carry on in the meantime.

i wish i could stop time and just be alone to rot for a while. i keep wanting to drink alcohol when i have only ever been a social drinker. it feels like i need to put a stop to everything and my mind is getting to a dark place. it feels horrible that there is no way out of this.

how the hell do i recover from burnout when i can’t turn any of my responsibilities off?

What is the difference between a undergrad and masters personal statement?

I am looking to apply for my masters degree and have chosen the course/uni I would like to apply to but when I go to write the personal statement I get stuck.
When writing my undergraduate PS i was told to show an interest in the subject through previous reading/short courses/work experience. Is it the same for a masters? Or is there some unwritten thing that unis like to see in applications at masters level? or a combination of both?
If anyone who has been accepted on a masters course or reviews applications could shed any light I would be majorly grateful!!
