Why does taking Magnesium Glycinate and/or Glycine before bed make me more awake and not sleep?

Every time I take these supplements, I never get a good night of sleep, borderline insomnia. Aren't these supplements supposed to help with sleep as so many say?

Does walking help with relaxing the pelvic floor?

I noticed that whenever I go for walks, I feel like my urge to pee lessens and I feel like I bring blood flow to the pelvic floor. Maybe it relaxes it? Whenever I walk like 10k steps I feel a bit better.

What supplements help you have deeper sleep?

Going to turn 26 soon, and I noticed my sleep for the past year or two has been less deep. Back when I was younger I would sleep deep as a cow, now I sleep for maybe just 3-4 hours and wake up before going to sleep again. I feel rested but it’s not as deep as I want it to be. I want to sleep deeply through 8 hours and not wake up. Also my circadian has always been inconsistent, so when I try to fix my sleep schedule, I find it hard to sleep at night.

A bit embarrassed, can’t do pull-ups as a guy. Seeing so many girls doing 6-10 plus pull-ups in the gym.

I’m a skinny lanky guy, I just feel a bit embarrassed.
I see so many girls in the gym doing 6-10 pull-ups and meanwhile I can’t even do one and been struggling to progress. I know that they been lifting way longer than me, but man I’m just having a really hard time progressing with pull-ups. Of course not in a misogynistic way, I view women in the highest regard but as a guy you are expected to be stronger. And seeing all these girls doing it with ease makes me think, man what’s wrong with me. I can’t even do one, nor can I progress. I might be the weakest guy ever.

No way L-theanine is that effective.

I recently made a post asking about what supplements ACTUALLY help for sleep. I have tried everything, and nothing has benefited me. A very popular answer on that post was L-theanine, is it really that effective for helping sleep? What are your experiences with this supplement?

I don’t know what to do with my life and I am scared about my future.

About to turn 26, been a NEET for 6 years. Been looking for a job for 6 years no luck, living with my parents and some family members (I don’t have a great relationship with some of them and I absolutely hate living with them but I have no choice) and I’m afraid one day I will get kicked out. After six years of living like this, I developed pretty bad social anxiety. I’m afraid of being seen.
I always struggled in school, dropped out after two years of college. I just rot at home scrolling on my phone and pc. I genuinely don’t know what to do. I pray to god to help me out, a breakthrough, but just silence… for the past 6 years. Pray for me and I need advice. Any help is appreciated

Frustrated and discouraged.

I started to workout around Januaryish this year, noticed some instant gains from 1-2 sessions. I was lifting on and off (mostly off) and took a long long breaks, basically losing all of my progress. Now when I lift again, I never notice gaining those gains back compared to when I first started. In January, after a couple sessions of shoulder press, my shoulder would be instantly stronger and bigger. Now after months of not working out, I do should press…almost zero gains. Same with my forearms. I train with much more intensity too… I don’t know what’s going on. So basically in January I was doing dumbbell shoulder press, 25lbs and fast forward to today, I’m still stuck at 25s. Yes I know it very on and off, but man it’s just frustrating that I didn’t even get 1% stronger. Recently I just started to actually workout again and got injured.
For once, I was feeling the momentum of actively working out and of course I got injured. I have been dealing with shoulder impingement issues for a while and one day I woke up with bad bad shoulder pain. The shoulder impingement pain went away after months and months of not lifting, it returned when I started to lift again, and one bad night sleeping on my side. It went away after a few days until started to do lateral raises and felt pain. What do I from here?

Why am I all of a sudden having sleep problems?

Back in 2024-2025 I never had sleep problems, slept so well and deep. After turning 25, I have noticed sleep problems, being unable to sleep well or as deeply as I used to.

I keep waking up every few hours when I sleep?

I would say I sleep pretty well and maybe deep for about 3-5 hours ish, then I wake up, I go back to sleep for another 3 hours, I wake up. Why? Is it because my circadian rhythm is messed up or?

Anyone else miss the old era of OTV and Friends?

Something about the 2017-2021 era was just different, I feel so nostalgic when I think about that time. It just felt so pure, you had to be there.

Having a hard time feeling my upper back when doing upper back rows.

I often hear that you should retract your scapula, but it’s often easier said than done. I try to think about squeezing a pencil in between my shoulder blades.

What Supplements ACTUALLY help for sleep?

I tried magnesium, seems to have no effect on my sleep. I tried glycine, hearing that it helps people sleep better. NOPE, it only made me more of an insomniac. I’m so confused, I read that it helps with sleep and I also read that it keeps you wake. But anyway, I’m not taking glycine anymore. I also feel like I’m one of those people who take supplements and are stubborn to response.

So, what really ACTUALLY helps with sleep? I’m sick and tired of taking all kinds of supplements and having no effect and wasting money. All placebo.

First day back after not lifting for a very long time could not even finish.

I did one set of Bulgarian split squats both sides, I’m done. I can’t.
Is this normal or ok?
Or am I just a pussy?

How do you squat and deadlift?

I’m new to squatting and how do you make sure you have good form? How low do you go? Do you picture yourself sitting on a chair? I’m afraid when I squat I go way too low and sometimes I feel it more in my right leg.
Also how do you have good form for RDL?

Instagram has existed for over a decade and we still can’t remove people on our search suggestions.

Whenever you view someone’s profile, they get added to your search suggestions. For example, you viewed a page that is NSFW, and now when you search for something in the same letter, it pops up. There is no way to remove that account from your search suggestions permanently and that needs to change. How has this not been a thing? The only way to remove them is to block them, and when you unblock them they come back to your search suggestions. Instagram, any higher ups or staff members see this, please implement this into the app. It will benefit so many people.

Left shoulder pain

I have always dealt with left shoulder impingement, and it really affects my workouts. Just today, I woke up with pain in my left shoulder as I am side sleeper. Why today my shoulder hurts from sleeping?

Discouraged.

Been lifting for about a yearish and seeing no progress, like zero. I can’t even do a pull-up after a year. Sucks seeing everyone get so strong and jacked, while I have nothing. Makes me feel like I’m forever going to be weak.
