Dealing with an incredibly loud car at 1:30 AM every night. Who do I report this to?

Hi everyone,

I live in a very residential area, and lately, there’s been a black Mustang with a brutally loud exhaust tearing around the neighborhood at awful hours. Last night, around 1:30 AM, they were just sitting there revving the engine like crazy. The noise is completely unbearable and waking people up.

Does anyone know the best way to handle this or who I should report it to? (Non-emergency police line, city bylaw/noise complaint, etc.?)

Pre-emptive FYI: I’m actually a huge car enthusiast and have owned several cars with custom exhausts myself. I love a good engine note, but there’s a time and a place. Keeping it quiet in a quiet neighborhood at 1 AM is just basic respect.!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Proof of Funds for Super Visa

I’m planning on applying for my mother in law’s super visa. Wife is pregnant and we are planning on bringing her mother to Canada to help us with the baby. Both me and my wife are PR. My wife and I will be sponsoring her visa.
When submitting the proof of fund, is it enough for us to submit our NOA, salary slips and bank statements?
We are well above the LICO mark but we don’t have much money in our bank savings accounts. Would that be a problem?
Thank you.

What Are Your Best Carb-Free Dinner Hacks?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some carb-free dinner ideas and was hoping to learn from the trial-and-error experiences of others. We all seem to discover our own little tricks and go-to meals, so I thought I’d ask for some recommendations.

Lately, I’ve been having steak with broccoli for dinner, which works well, but I’m starting to run out of ideas and would like a bit more variety. I know there are plenty of meat-based options, but I’m also curious whether there are any unique low-carb or carb-free dishes from different countries or cultures that you’ve found enjoyable.

I have LADA (Type 1.5 diabetes), and unfortunately even a single slice of bread can send my blood sugar higher than I’m comfortable with, so I need to be quite strict with carbohydrates.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Libre2 vs Dexcom + rant

I’ve been using Libre 2 sensors for quite a while now, and to be honest, I’m getting frustrated with how inaccurate they can be. Lately, I’ve noticed that whenever I place the sensor on my right arm, the readings seem to be significantly off around 70% of the time. Because of this, I’ve been relying more on finger-prick testing to verify my glucose levels.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with the Libre 2?

I’m also curious about Dexcom. What’s everyone’s experience with it? Is it generally more accurate, or does it have similar reliability issues?

My concern is that these sensors cost around C$100 each. While they are covered by my private insurance, I still don’t like the idea of spending money on something that isn’t providing reliable readings.

I’d appreciate hearing about your real-world experiences with both Libre 2 and Dexcom. How accurate have they been for you?

Failed Ishihara Test - can I still get a PPL?

Hi all,
I am 36 years old and I have been having a life-long ambition of being a pilot. However all my chances even before going to a flight school were shattered as I failed very badly on the Ishihara Test and I had a squint. I got my squint fixed however I still can't see pass page one of the Ishihara Test. Additionally I actually have some difficulty with locating an object in space as my hand eye coordination is also not very good!
I know this sounds way too gone already but I want to know is there even a slim chance of at least getting a PPL so that I could fly a Cesna?
Btw I can see very well, it's just my color and 3D vision is not good.

Diabetic and glaucoma

Hi all, I recently visited my Ophthalmologists and she said I show early signs of glaucoma. She said my optic nerves are larger and asked me to come back for more tests.. I did my eye exams about 2 years (or less) ago but this was not observed back then. I also have type 1.5 LADA diabetics so things are a bit complicated as well..
Would anyone have any information or advise on this on how to stop worrying about this or what steps I should take to make things better?
Any advise is warmly welcome :)
Thank you.

Cafés similar to Pineridge Hollow

Hi all, I’m looking for some cafes which are similar to Pineridge Hollow. Would be ideal if the drive is under one hour from the city.
Wife is currently pregnant so want to take her out for a little drive and some good food.

Looking for some great recommendations!

Thank you.

I’m using a Libre 2 CGM and I have seen it been not very accurate compared to the finger prick machine.

Today my CGM showed a 2.3mmol/L and when checked whit the finger prick machine it showed 9.6mmol/L.

My question is, have you’ll experienced something similar and if yes, what would be the reason behind it?

Hi all, I want to ask, in regards to proof of funds should I show the lump sum of money in my bank account? Or can I just show my NOA and pay slips and bank deposits of the pay?

I don’t have a lump sum of money in my account however I’m well above the low income cutoff.

Thanks.
