Modern History : Devendra Dubey Sir (PW faculty)

Has anyone here studied Modern History from Devendra Dubey Sir ( PW Only IAS faculty)

I'd like to know your honest review, opinion and experience.

- How is his teaching style?

- Is he good for UPSC/CSE preparation?

- Are his notes and explanations sufficient, or do you need to refer to additional sources?

- What are his strengths and weaknesses?

If you've personally studied from him, I'd really appreciate your genuine review. Thanks in advance!

Need guidance on PW 2028 Prarambh Batch faculty and study strategy (Pre+Mains)

Hello there!

m preparing for UPSC using the PW 2028 Prarambh Batch. So far, I've completed the Foundation Basics from the batch, but now I'm completely confused about how to move forward.

Since Khazana isn't available with my subscription for now, I only have access to the current faculty in the batch. I don't know which teachers I should follow consistently and whether I should switch to other resources for any subjects.

I have a few questions:

Which faculty in the PW 2028 would you recommend following without overthinking or switching?

Are there any subjects where you think I should use a different teacher or resource?

How should I balance Prelims and Mains preparation from this stage?

Should I continue watching all lectures, or start focusing more on NCERTs, standard books, PYQs, and answer writing?

What would you do differently if you were starting again?

I'm feeling overwhelmed because everyone seems to have a different strategy, and I don't want to waste time constantly changing teachers or resources.

I'd really appreciate honest advice from people who've used PW or have experience with UPSC preparation.

Thanks in advance!

confused about which optional subject to choose and what resources I should follow

am confused between choosing Psychology and Sociology as my UPSC optional subject.

I completed my 12th with PCM and am currently pursuing a BA Programme.

My main concern is the availability of resources, guidance, and quality study material for Psychology. While I am interested in Psychology, Sociology seems to have more readily available resources, coaching support, and topper guidance.

Considering my academic background and the availability of resources, which optional would be a better choice for me?

Confused about English Grammar for SSC/DSSSB – Which teacher should I trust and follow blindly?

Hi everyone,

I'm preparing for SSC and I'm really confused about whom to follow for the English Grammar portion. I don't want to keep switching between teachers because that wastes a lot of time and creates more confusion.

The teachers I'm considering are:

PSP Sir (Parmar SSC)

Aman Sir (Selection Way)

Neetu Singh (KD Live)

Jaideep Sir (Career Will)

I want to stick with one teacher from basic to advanced level and revise their content thoroughly rather than studying from multiple sources.

If you've studied from any of them, could you please share:

Who did you follow and why?

Whose grammar concepts are the clearest?

Who is best for SSC/DSSSB exams?

If you had to recommend just one teacher to trust and follow without any second thoughts, who would it be?

I'd really appreciate honest reviews from people who have actually studied from these teachers and seen results.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Day 6 Progress

Hey guys, Day 6 check-in!

Today was actually really good and productive! I got a solid amount of studying done during the day. In the evening, I took a well-deserved break to visit the temple, and then just relaxed for a bit after coming back home. It felt great to disconnect for a while.

Since tomorrow is Sunday, my plan is to only focus on revision and clearing out all my pending tasks. I am thinking about making this a regular habit—keeping one day a week strictly for revision and catching up on backlog instead of picking up new topics.

My comment section is wide open for any advice or suggestions you have. Does anyone else keep Sundays just for revision?

Good luck to you too!🌻

It doesn't get easier, you just get better!!!

Ps; Ye maine kuch din phle aise hi bnaya tha me and who krke😭😭

Day 3 Progress: Back on track

Day 3 Progress: Back on track

Helloo guys, finally checking in for Day 3. I was down with a really high fever for the last two days and honestly had zero energy to open a book. It's super frustrating when your body just forces you to pause your study plan. But today, I finally gathered the strength to get back on track! It feels really good to get back into the routine, even if I'm still recovering a bit. Here's what I managed to cross off the list today with red ticked off

English: OWS from Blackbook 1-150, Confusing Verbs, and learning Collocations with questions.

Maths: BODMAS PYQs, 3-Digit Square calculations, and Basics of Maths.

Reasoning: Alphabetical Series Class 1.

GK: Physics Class 1.

(Haven't done the percentage one)

Taking it one day at a time right now. How is everyone else's prep going today? Keep grinding!

Feel free to drop any study tips or advice in the comments below-always looking to improve myself.

Good luck to you too!

Thank you in advance 🫶

Day 2: Vocab, Grammar, & Math Basics

Hey everyone, sharing my progress tracker for Day 2!

Totally forgot to post this yesterday (was so exhausted), so here is my Day 2 update from Sunday!

I managed to push through and tick off quite a few things:

English Vocab: Learned 01–125 One Word Substitutions (OWS) from Blackbook.

English Grammar: Knocked out the Verb complete classes (Classes 22 to 29) and Collocation Classes 31,32 and 33.

Math Basics: Started Bodmas Class 01 and did some calculation capsule practices of Squares with Base 100,, and 2-digit squares

As for today (Monday): Absolutely nothing happened. 😭 Woke up with a super high fever and my body just crashed, so today was a complete rest and recovery day. Trying not to feel too guilty about it because health comes first, but it still sucks to lose momentum on Day 3.

Please share your tips and tricks too!!

Good luck to you too 💌

Day 1: Blackbook Vocab & Grammar Check

Starting a new streak today to build consistency and keep myself accountable. The goal is to post here daily and stick to the routine!

Today's Progress:

Vocab: Kicked off Day 1 of Blackbook, focusing on A2 One Word Substitutions (OWS) and done till 100.

Grammar: Wrapped up Tenses today! (From vol1) Next up on the checklist: Verbs.

Current Status:

Perks of living in a rural area: Beautiful 70 AQI fresh air.

Cons: The internet speed operates on a time delay from 2005. 💀 Trying to load study material and classes with this connection is a true test of patience.

Since this is Day 1, I’m wide open to your inputs...

See you tomorrow for Day 2...🫶

Neetu Singh Vol 1 for Grammar—What’s the move for Vocab? 📚

Let’s get those gains. 🚀

I am using Neetu Singh Vol 1 to hammer down my grammar foundation, and it’s going well so far. However, I feel like I need a more structured approach for Vocabulary.

I’m looking for recommendations on:

The best teacher for Vocab: Someone who focuses on mnemonics, root words, or high-frequency exam words. I’ve heard names like Rani Singh Ma'am and Jaideep Sir—who worked best for you?

Supplementary Books: Is Word Power Made Easy worth the time investment, or should I go straight for the Blackbook for PYQs?

Any tips on how you guys balance grammar practice with heavy vocab memorization without burning out would be much appreciated.

Let’s get those gains. 🚀

Thank you so much in advance 🫶

Seeking Advice On Parmar Sir's Material

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to dive into Parmar Sir’s content but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options. Does anyone have a roadmap or advice on which batch is best to join right now?

If you’ve used his material before, could you let me know:

Which batch is the most comprehensive for a beginner?

How and where should I actually start?

If you have any notes or lectures you’re willing to share, I’d be super grateful! Pleaseeeee

Good luck with your prep, and thank you in advance! ✌️

New to SSC – Need tips to get a job ASAP for financial independence!

I’m totally new to the SSC house. Currently a BA student and preparing for Civils too (just finished my Polity pre-fc classes), but now I’ve decided to secure a job first

Cause success rate in upsc is like a null can't rely upon that totally

Honestly, being a girl from a village, there's always that "shadi ka pressure" if you aren't independent. So I want to get a secure job first for survival and then follow my UPSC passion later.

B need a secure job firsttt no matter how much the hard work it's demands!!*

Thank you in advance 🫶

Good luck to you all🌻
