Hello there!
I'm currently upgrading PC for a friend, and need some help choosing the best CPU. We've currently upgraded GPU to RX 6600xt, and here's the main problem, because while on paper ryzen 5 5500 should be better than 3600, it doesn't support PCIe 4 to be fully compatible with the GPU.
Is it still worth buying the 5500 over 3600? The main usage will be for games relying heavy on graphics or artistic projects, that's why I even consider 3600, because it will be compatible with the GPU.
Country is Poland, budget around $100 or less, that's why 5600 is out of the question sadly. Motherboard will be MSI B550M PRO-VDH.
Hi there!
I was asked for help by a friend who knows absolutely nothing about building a PC, and while I'm more qualified than her, I'm still no expert.
Currently she's running i5-7500 with RX 570 on a b250m motherboard and dual 16gb RAM. The main focus is good graphics for games and graphic design, while also staying on a budget of about $300-$400 for a GPU (country is Poland). The CPU will stay the same for now, same as motherboard, but will most likely also be upgraded in the future.
I'm considering either RX 6600 or RX 6650 XT. I know that for now full power for both will be suppressed by the outdated CPU, but even with that in mind I think it would be a good choice for another couple of years, especially after upgrading CPU in the future.
Will any of these be good enough for what I'm looking for? And what would be the best CPU and motherboard that I can pair them with?
