In the wake of some recent reports, subreddit guidelines will be more strictly enforced on posts going forward. As a reminder, all picture/video posts must include a source unless it is explicitly stated that the post is original content (OC) in the post title or comment section. If reposting an image marked with an [OC] tag, the post title must be modified and the original source must be indicated in the comment section or post description (unless you are reposting your own image). Pictures/videos posted to the subreddit within the last 6 months may not be reposted, unless it is being reposted for the sake of analysis. If this is the case, clearly note it somewhere in your post and note the original source.

This subreddit is intended for pictures of, videos of, and text posts about views of distant objects. Obviously, "distant" is subjective, so I prefer to take a hands-off approach with moderation and let the community vote on what is/isn't distant. However, if a post is clearly misguided or not in the spirit of the subreddit, post removal will be considered. If you see a post that violates any of the subreddit guidelines, please report it.

Thanks for all the great photography you all have submitted in the last year, this community has grown so much and I love seeing people nerd out about this with me. If you have comments or suggestions about the subreddit guidelines, please let me know.

EDIT: As of today, September 27th, post flairs have been created and are required for each post. If your picture is OC you can indicate it with the OC flair. Otherwise, pictures/videos from other sources must still be indicated in the post description or comment section of your post. Apologies for any confusion as these rules are enforced.
