Should I stick with slicked back or curtains?

I made a post in another sub called ‘am I ugly?’ Dozens of people commented that I don’t suit a slicked back hairstyle. I know I have a high forehead. I didn’t think that would matter too much. However, apparently the haircut is unflattering. I work in an office and all the men I work with have slicked back haircuts.

The first three photos attached of me having slicked back hair. The next three are me trying to see what I would like look like with curtains. The last picture is my old unruly hair.

Any feedback will be warmly appreciated.

Does my slick back hair look ok? I’m thinking next time I will get the sides trimmed a little more.

I got my a hair cut a month ago. My hair used to always be messy and unruly. I decided to tidy it up a bit so that I would look more presentable in the office. The slick back style was recommended to me- so that is what I went for.
These pictures were taken 8 hours after applying product so the hold isn’t as strong as it usually appears.

I have a slick back haircut. I use Reuzel clay matte pomade. It provides a medium hold. I like the way my hair looks once applying the clay- it looks natural and not greasy. Someone even commented to me, “your hair must naturally fall back, I wish my hair did that”. However, the effect fades after a couple of hours. I have to keep brushing it back as the hair falls to the side. It looks like I have curtains and people compared the look to Leonardo Dicaprio’s haircut in the 1990s.

I don’t want a greasy and wet look, I want natural and effortless. I want the look of the clay pomade but a stronger hold.
