Adalimumab (Hyrimoz) - a 3 year look back of before the weekly injections kicked in

First 3 are April -May 2024, 4-5 are April 2025 and lastly, August 2026! I've got RA, seropositive.

Y'all, I took my dogs to the vet today. I have been able to get out and do things! I saw a play this past weekend!!! Huge thank you to my rheumatologist - he's super happy for me as well 🙂 now if I can keep from catching any more illnesses I'll be so happy!

Strep throat and Adalimumab (AKA Hyrimoz)? A small rant

Hey everyone, I started feeling terrible Thursday night (after my weekly injection, ofc), and my ears were itchy Tuesday and Wednesday. Looked at my throat and I was surprised to see the white spots on my swollen tonsils. I took Friday off work.

I did a telephone appointment with my Dr and I was given a 500mg Z pack which I started yesterday morning. Second dose was this morning.

The headache is absolutely terrible today. Like someone is stabbing me in my left eyebrow. My mood is absolutely terrible as well, and I'm not usually grumpy. I've taken acetaminophen 500mg twice today.

I don't know where the thermometer is but I have been alternating between feeling like I'm burning up, then soaking wet, then freezing. My gums even hurt, although I don't think that's related.

How long is this going to last? I took tomorrow off but I have to work Tuesday. I do not remember how long it took last time or if the adalimumab will make it take longer to heal.

Where did I get it and how do I keep from giving it back to myself (I just learned about that yesterday, and that's crazy to me)????

I have been so lucky not to be actually sick since the last week of December when I had the flu. My adalimumab injection is once a week now. I've been careful with washing my hands at work and home and nobody I know has this right now. I have been using Azelastine HCl nasal spray for allergies and viral protection. And I pick up a bacteria that's only infected me once in over 5 decades. I'm not equipped to effectively manage this, perhaps bc I feel so bad. Help.

Excited to add: I've only had strep once as an adult and I don't remember having it as a kid (many other things but not strep throat), but it was before the diagnosis and 12-13 years ago. I got into a fight with my ex wife and my impatiens were destroyed that night we were diagnosed with it.

Before you finally, if ever, get diagnosed

Just a funny going into the long US weekend! It really does be that way though.

Weekly adalimumab (Hyrimoz) injections and high blood pressure update

I think these pics are backwards - pretty sure you can physically see the difference though 🙂

Pic 6 April 2024 - I wrapped a small weed eater line and my hands looked like that for weeks.

Pic 5 is my elbow in mid 2025 (no pic of it now but I don't have an egg on it anymore).

Pic 3 and 4 are from May of 2025

Pick 2 was a couple weeks ago

Pic 1 was today.

Pics 7-8 are before and after getting with my PCP again and getting my BP down.

Hi everybody. You may know me from my posts about my RA, being on hyrimoz adalimumab injections (weekly), and that time I had to go to the ER from my rheumatologist appointment on a gurney.

Just wanted to give everyone a visual look at my journey so far. Other than the BP I'm doing pretty good! I have OA all in both hands as well as the RA so the injections can only do so much 😩😉 I highly suggest not hitting things when you're angry.

I can't help but think of her when I see something like this (OC)

You know who I'm talking about.

BTW - this is a "you will not break me" kind of hopeful story. I hope this is allowed, I'm not selling anything but it's on the river in the rainforest's site, and this is posted with permission by the author of the book. She's a fellow disabled Redditor and this is her first piece published and I totally found it serendipitously.

No sooz need advice on ants

This is Kirby. As you can see, I am a pibble. Or, that's what this new human is referring to me as. And something about velbet hippos. I no care bout that.

New human is called "Antee" and sumtimes "Eeeee" but mostly ant, like "this is your Ant, Kirby". This is berry confusing to me, Kirby. I no have any ants. She not ant wif 6 legs kinda ant, my momma said. Kirby got eyes, momma, duh! And she showed up outta nowhere a few forebbers ago, acting like we is fambly! She not my mom or dad sisfur, how can she be my ant?

This not me doing a complain. Just want to have an understand. If she really my ant, I gotta pologize fur the side eyes and running when she asked to cuddle.

(Charlie's Gamma here, this sweet baby girl was found by my longtime best female friend (I say it that way bc my others are male), and we've all been sick for the last few years and live on opposite sides of the big city.

I'm feeling better and trying to get out of the house more, and ofc I'm going to their house, or their lake house again. And this sweet baby is like "Mom loves you so I love you, too, whoever you are"😂 she's probably the sweetest tempered pibble I've ever met.)

How to get full mod rights

I'm the only mod left in the r/dentures sub and I can't add any new mods. Our sub's creator has passed, and obviously they can't help. Please let me know what I need to do.

Who remembers what "there's company coming over!!!!" meant when we were kids?

Because you KNOW we weren't told when the plans were made *weeks ago* on the phone or in person.

FINALLY got it again

Unfortunately I don't have any way to play it except my car. Fortunately (not really) I go back to my 80 mile round trip commute to work June 1. DWYW isn't the same with CA, hence this purchase. Sigh. Great decisions weren't her thing back in the Artpop writing days, because it should've just been her and her alone. And I'll never understand allowing/paying someone to throw up on you, either.

Yeah. That's a crazy title for a crazy experience. Y'all may remember me from some of my posts about my blood pressure that landed me in the ER and the delay in the adalimumab working.

I have hearing loss in my right ear from an incident about 35-36 years ago (I'm 55). I have figured out how to compensate for a lot of it but it's just one of those things - we weren't told to protect our hearing in those days.

But this is something I never told anyone until yesterday.

For the last 3 years, maybe longer, I've had a persistent sound, mostly in my left ear (the good ear), that sounded like an acoustic guitar played thru an amp. And an intermittent beep for good measure. It was never a song, but I could make words up to it if I concentrated. It was so loud when I was lying down, I thought it was my air purifier or an outlet in my bedroom. I have been trying to find the cause of the guitar playing in my head for so long, it became normal. One of carbon monoxide detectors is right outside of my door and I've replaced the battery to see if there was a leak.

Then I woke up yesterday.

It was so quiet in my bedroom, I thought I'd possibly lost my hearing entirely. But then I realized I could hear the air purifier. But no guitar. No beeps.

I can hear regular sounds, all the little ones of an active house on a Tuesday right now. I think I can hear better in both ears. It's so weird!

My injections are every Friday. I've done 4, so a month, and I was on it biweekly regularly since last October.

I really think there could've been inflammation in my ear causing this and the adalimumab has helped it too. 🤷🏻‍♀️
