Why don't more people talk about this Lune dialogue

I see a lot of (deserved) praise for the "When one falls" scene, but holy hell this dialogue from Lune with the VA's delivery makes me watery-eyed every time I hear it. It's the most vulnurable we hear her throughout the entire game. I wish it was appreciated as much as the other amazing scenes she is in.

Here's the transcription:

It’s fine.

I miss him too.

…

The pain we feel… everytime we lose someone…

I’ve tried many ways of dealing with it. Running from it. Sitting with it. Compartmentalising it.

But what I needed… was to use it. To use everything.

I– Mm.

[exhale] I feel… everything… And I let it burn inside me.

When I’m tired, when I feel hopeless, when I want to just let it all go…

I use the pain, I use the fear, the shame, the guilt, the anger, I use it all to keep going. To make sure. I. Continue.

I can almost feel them beside me. Everyone we’ve lost… walking with me.

Especially when I use chroma. I feel their presence, their closeness. And they help me.

Finding a certain song from the game

I am trying to find the song that plays in your second encounter with the >!Manticore in the incubator.!<I cannot seem to find it anywhere for some reason.

I was also wondering if there is a fuller rendition of the >!Egg song?!<I swore I had heard its melody from somewhere but it seems I might have not been correct. But the melody is gorgeous, and it'd be lovely to hear a fuller rendition of it, even as a cover, if someone knows!

Thank you.

25F - Looking for Friends who Love Games!

Hello, everybody! I hope you're having a lovely day. This sub has helped me find lovely people before, so I hope I can meet some great people again.

I am someone who really enjoys video games, and sharing video game experiences with others brings me a lot of joy. However, my internet connection has never been secure enough to play a lot of online games, aside from certain low-demand games like Stardew Valley. This has been a blessing in disguise, as it's helped me learn that there are many ways to share the joy of playing games with others, even singleplayer ones. Talking about games, watching a friend screenshare their game, trying out new genres because of a friend's recommendation; it's all been a blast. So, while I am open to trying some low-demand online games together, I'm mainly looking for a friend who just so happens to be passionate about games as much as I am. I love appreciating the minute things about a game's art, music, game design, and story together, or criticizing the things we did not like together. And similarly I'd love to get to know my friend, and build something where we both are comfortable around each other to just be ourselves without the worry of being judged unfairly for who we are.

My time zone is (GMT + 3:30), but I've had many friends with time zones vastly different from me, so we can hopefully find a common time, despite the time difference.

A bit about myself; currently getting my master's degree in mathematics. My first langauge is Persian, and I teach English as a part-time job. I play on PC and my early childhood was mostly spent playing Flash games, or Popcap games and the like, so pretty used to keyboard and mouse (though, no hate to the controller people :p) and I think that's where my love of indie games came from. Speaking of which, here are some games/series I really like (because choosing favourites is impossible):

  1. Dark Souls

  2. Hollow Knight & Silksong

  3. OMORI

  4. Hades I & II

  5. Celeste

  6. Baldur's Gate 3

  7. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

  8. Undertale/Deltarune

  9. Nier Automata & Replicant

  10. Gris & Neva

I've also recently finished Mina the Hollower, which I loved a TON, and it made me go back to play the other campaigns of Shovel knight, also made by Yacht Club Games. I would definitely recommend them, if you haven't played them yet!

Lastly, I've made myself a playlist of some video game OSTs which I really like for fun! I thought it may be a fun conversation starter. Let me know if you wanted to give it a listen, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and whether you had any songs you'd recommend adding to it based on your own taste!

p.s. I will do my best to reply to all messages I receive. If I don't, I'm most likely asleep (as it's very late as I'm making this post), or otherwise busy, but I promise I will get around to replying as well as I could <3

Favourite Moment from the Game

The mirror from the Ossex Residence is teased to us from the beginning of the game. You keep finding the mirrors throughout the levels, yet never the one in the residence. And at the end of the game, after fighting that horrid monstrosity and the horror of it all, you come across this innocent scene with the lost little girl playing with the Piece, and it hit me like a ton of bricks and really moved me.

Did anyone else feel this way?

Who is this shadow creature?

I just finished the game and this creepy shadow crocodile (?) was present in the ending and I had not once seen it in my playthrough. Who is it?

"Why, this is the perfect time to read!"

"Why, this is the perfect time to read!" Mina thought to herself, as a Globber's highly explosive jar was being thrown at her.

Hades II has 40h 56m 40s worth of Voice Lines

Hello, fellow Shades!

Supergiants Appreciation

Hades series has always been known to have a wealth of dialogue and voice acting. Supergiants outdo themselves every time with the amount of care and consideration they put in the game's writing and the directions they give for the acting to bring everything to life. The buttery smooth voices of Judy Alice Lee and Darren Korb, as well as all the rest of the amazing cast were a big part of the appeal of these games for me. So, in an attempt at appreciating the work of Supergiants and the amazing actors who worked on this game, I have extracted and matched all voice files and dialogue text from when Hades II first came to early access, until the current latest patch of the game (post-launch patch 2).

The Good Stuff

Here are the downloadable goods:

  1. Google Drive Folder containing the link for downloading all the files as well as some other things - It's partitioned into character folders, at the root of each character folder there's their voice files as well as their dialogue txt files, and potentially two folders that contain their cut lines and emotes (efforts). I've also added a txt file in the top-most directory that is a union of all the individual dialogue txt files for easier searching. You can download the big txt separately from the folder.
  2. Speaking of easier searching, download the "Everything" software. This would have been a nightmare to do without this tool to search through my folders MUCH MUCH MUCH faster than the normal Windows File Explorer. You'll thank me later, trust me.

This'll be easier for you to look through yourself than for me to explain. I'll just note that :

  • The files that have "Timeless from v1.2" in the filenames don't have any in-game dialogue as they were cut before they were implemented in the game, so I couldn't match them with anything. (I have added the the parenthesis in the file names myself, they aren't part of the game files' original naming)
  • For the Olympians that have a Godsent Hex, I accidentally put them in the cut lines. I have fixed the times in the table below, but they are still wrongly placed in the folders. Just go to the cut folders of Aphrodite, Ares, Poseidon, Hera, Hestia, Apollo, Hephaestus, and Demeter and move the files that have "V1.1" in the file names and move them to the main folder and you're good to go!
  • The voice actor for Athena changed in patch 11, so I have uploaded Marin Miller's voice files up until Patch 9 separately.
  • This does not include the re-recording of a voice file across different patches. I tried very hard to find a way to distinguish them, but since they have the same name, I couldn't find a comprehensive way to find the retakes and count them as "Cut Lines".
  • Across different patches, some dialogues were revised. It could have been due to a spelling error in the dialogue, or a retake of the line with a slight change in the dialogue. Since I couldn't find out which is which, I have just put every iteration of dialogue for every character's lines (if there's more than one) underneath each other in the txt files as Dialogue1:, Dialogue2:, etc. And if the dialogue was never touched it'll just be Dialogue:

About 3 hours of recorded cut dialogue is truly maddening, isn't it! The above as an xlsx file can be downloaded from the Google Drive folder since the one in the Mega is wrong because of the godsent hexes I mentioned above.

Help Make this Better!

  1. As mentioned previously, I could not find a method to distinguish re-recordings in a comprehensvie way. I tried size difference, but that led me nowhere. If you can help with that, that'd be lovely!
  2. As mentioned before, I don't have a transcription for the "Timeless from v1.2" voice lines. If you could help with the transcription of those files, I'd again be very thankful!
  3. As always, let me know if there's anything wrong. This took a really long time, so I'd appreciate any thoughts and feedback!

What are your favourite voices from the game? What are your favourite lines from the game? Would love to hear your thoughts, and may moonlight you all!

There are Three Voices for Melinoe in the Game Files!

Hello, everyone!

I have recently gone through every single voice file and dialogue text in Hades II, from when it first came to Early Access to the present post-launch Hotfix 2. I will upload everything once I have the internet for it, as it's about 8 gigabytes worth of files.

However, going through the game files, I noticed that there seemed to have been initially two other voices for Melinoe in the game files along with the voice of Judy Alice Lee. These other voice actors don't have many files, one has 7 and the other has about 18.

My guess is that these were perhaps parts of auditions for the role, and maybe Supergiants wanted to see how the voices work in the game? They have files reciting almost the exact same lines of what seemed to be a prototype of the events of a first night in Hades II, and it's clear that it's also Judy's first days, as the pitch of her voice is much higher than the more mature-sounding Mel we get during latter parts of the development. I have put these side-by-side because I found it interesting! (The Greatest Teacher line for Judy I added from post-launch content because she didn't have anything for that line, but the rest are cut lines/takes)

I am 90% sure the first voice is Sarah Grayson (the voice of Selene) but I don't know who the other voice actor is. If you know, let me know!

Epilogue spoilers:

>!Turns out Mel is also threefold in her own way, just like somebody else. What a fun coincidence.!<

The artists for the arts are:

  1. Tanana Alex Art
  2. bewitchedblood0
  3. Datcravat

Enjoy!

You can Make Mina Look Around during Conversations!

During a conversation, when you press the directional keys, Mina moves her head to that direction.

Such a tiny detail, but very cute nontheless. Love when game devs put these tiny touches in the game!
